Realook Screen Protector - Installed pictures - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Just got my Realook Screen protector, they just came out and arrived today. These are the hard plastic kind so they feel like glass. $12 for two from Amazon. I had one on my Epic 4G for 1.5 years without a problem. I've tried others, like Zagg and Phantom Skinz, don't compare to the hard plastic. I kind of wanted to try the Steinheil this time, but I figured why not stick with what works.
I just installed it. Took me a few tries to get it perfectly centered since it covers the entire screen, including the capacative buttons. Installed it after I took a shower to minimize the dust. Two remaining dust specs I removed using the included scotch tape.
How does it feel? Just as I expected. Can't even tell its on, feels slick like glass.
Here's some quick pictures. Checkout the reflection of my bathroom light, shows ZERO orange peel effect.

how durable is it? my only gripe with Steinheil is that it scratches somewhat easily

Awesome. I ordered mine last week and should be arriving any day now.

What about the proxy sensor does it cover that too or is there a cutout

no cutout for the proxy sensor, it completely covers the glass. screen still turns off during a call I can do more testing. seems ok so far.

The problems I've seen with the screen protector covering the prox sensor is that the screen won't turn on during a call when you look at the phone. So if you get another phone call and take the phone away from your head to look at the screen to see who is calling it stays dark and you can't look.
Is that the case with this or does it still detect when its not next to your head so you can look at the screen during a call?

nice, can barely tell its on. I might have to pick one of these up

He installed it in the bathroom after getting nice and steamy which helps reduce the dust in the air.

I just did a quick test by calling my voice mail and the screen turned on when I pulled the phone away from my head.
I think if I'm talking for a while and the phone gets greasy sometimes it doesn't turn on so I have to flick the power button to turn the screen on. I don't remember if it was the same way before the screen protector

skinomi also make really good screen protectors

Skinomi screen protector doesn't fit?

Alright, So I bought the Skinomi screen protector from amazon. The first one I got I applied and it doesn't reach end to end. So I emailed the company from amazon that I bought it from and informed them that it didn't fit and sent them pictures. They sent out another one, which I got today, and it's the same exact size as the last one.
Anyone else have a skinomi screen protector, does it fit your screen? The pictue below shows the screen protector not reaching to the bottom.

My Clarivue screen protector was cut the similar to your Skinomi. Maybe a tad longer but still 1mm short of the screen. I have a TPU hybrid case on and it covered the bottom so I can't see that is short.
I just got this email fro them:
"Hello,
We allow about an 1/8" room on all screen protectors and skin. We do this because if it was exact then alot of people can not install it without messing up. I am sorry if this does not work for you, please contact customer service if you have anymore questions. Have a great day!
Thank You"
Yet, it doesn't say that on the order screen.
Is there a screen protector that fits the whole screen?
My ZAGG is even shorter. Kind of a bummer.
Wow, that is surprising about Zagg! While Zagg may not have the best feel to them, they usually fit perfect and are freaking unscratchable!!
The Otterbox screen protectors that can't with my Impact case and my Commuter case fit perfect! Well, I've actually only installed one, the one from the Impact, but they are identical.... The Otterbox also feels and looks like there is nothing on the screen at all. I am very impressed and pleased with the screen protector!! Another bonus is that it doesn't stick to the built in screen protector on the Defender like the Zagg did to the Ballistic HC case with my Evo 4G( no stupid baby powder trick needed, which barely even worked to begin with anyway.....)

I got the screen protector from FLsuperstore on ebay by recommendation of others on this forum, and I have to say, it really is a great screen protector. Cut is perfect, clarity is perfect, and I've been using it for two weeks with no scratches (went to the beach twice). I can't recommend it enough, my last screen protector on my Evo4G was the Steinheil Crystal Clear, and I feel like this screen protector works just as well. My Steinheil maybe felt a little thicker/harder, but still had scratches after I used it. This one I don't have any scratches yet, it still feels great. For $1.50 though, you can't go wrong. I was impressed enough to order their anti-glare to see how that fares.

Your Skinomi fits perfectly?
Also, thanks nhutpham! I'm gonna order one.
I've never had a screen protector on any item that was 100% coverage. They have all been at least .5 mm short in each direction. I can't see where anyone could install a screen protector properly if it was 100% accurate without mechanical assistance.
I've had Zagg, Skinomi, Clarivue, Skinz, Skin It and several others over the years.
I love my zagg, but it's cut even smaller than yours. According to the box it’s supposed to be "case friendly"
My skinomi fits perfectly... there's a VERY small gap but you want that... if the protector was cut to the exact size, it'd peel off on the edges. The gap on yours does seem a bit much though.

Yes, they come with a screen protector preinstalled No need to take it of.
Should that scratch easily? I have had the phone less than a day and all I did was pull it out of my pocket and I have a couple scratches now. They don't seem to be coming off. Don't know why but it although it looks like its a protector it doesn't feel like one. I wonder if anyone has actually removed it?

I removed the pre installed protector on my x10 and Arc, I think it's the same thing. I just applied a new protetor directly on the glass.
I found the pre-installed protector made the screen feel very 'sticky' to touch and also attracted dust, dog hair etc like a magnet! Much better without it
I don't think my phone has a screenprotector.

Everyone phone sold in the Netherlands has one installed confirmed by Sony NL
Bought an Xperia S in Italy yesterday, and yes, there is one screen protector in the box, one on the display glass and one (with printed demo graphics on it, so it have to be removed) on top of the one installed on the display...
Great !
I saw it just in time, my girfriend was already managing how to stick the protector found in the box
Has anyone else noticed that the softkeys are not very responsive? If so does removing the screen protector help?
I'm starting to think that the screen protector is the cause..
I took mine off. I hate them, and yes, my home button is more responsive.

In the end I decided to remove the screen protector, the softkeys work every time now!
I don't see why I should slide my finger up from the transparent strip when there are keys made to be pressed..
I might put on the other screen protector that was in the box, cutting the bottom part so it doesn't cover the softkeys
Mm.. How did you all remove it safely? I am honestly a little bit afraid... Where I should start to pick it off?
I never have to remove one by myself before...
Sent from my LT26i using XDA
Start at any of the corners and use your nails, or the plastic bubble remover from the other screen protector, it takes a while as it's really stuck on well!
I quite like the fact that the soft keys are a bit unresponsive, saves me accidentally hitting the home key when sliding up the notification panel!

Screen protector
I sent an e-mail to the Sony helpdesk to ask whether this is a screen protector or not.
This is the answer i got from them:
"With regards to your enquiry, I inform you that the Xperia S has a preinstalled protective layer that should not be removed."
See here as well:
http://talk.sonymobile.com/message/175211
comment from xperia support staff:
The phone comes with a shatter proof sheet attached on scratch-resistant glass.
So, the screen protector that comes pre-attached is meant to keep the display from shattering if e.g. dropped. It also protects against other damages to a small extent. This sheet is however not scratch-resistant (the display is though).
You can remove this protection if you want to but I suggest you keep it on. If you remove it you should attach a new one to keep the display protected.
I should also point out that "scratch-resistant" is not the same as "scratch-proof". If you put all your body weight on a sharp object and swipe it over the screen, you will most likely get a scratch so you should still be careful.
I keep my phone in my front jeans pocket with nothing else but the phone in it. Keys, coins etc will damage the phone sooner or later.

Mean I should remove it and replace with another screen protector
Now i applied a screen protector on the other screen protector

The Diztronic TPU case review! Tons o' pix (inadvertent camera review)

Just put it on my phone. Pictures before the case isn't on the phone were taken by the Evo's camera.
Pictures on the phone were taken with the GS2.
Pro's:
Case is snug
Matte finish feels like quality
Protects camera and screen of scrapes
Con's:
Case just barely fits. Very tight and barely covers front edges from touching. Basically, it fits but its tight.

It keeps it off the table. I like mine a lot just gotta get used to pushing the buttons. It has an extra raised lip around the camera which helps keep the case thin yet still protect the camera surrounding.

It will not touch the screen if its face down. Look at the pic with the dime on the screen. If you were to put a dime on the screen and flipped the phone upside down, you'd scrape
because the case is not raised enough on the sides. Its rather disappointing honestly. I liked the fit of my TPU case on my GS2 more because it was raised around the edges enough to avoid screen scrapes.

It will not get stuck in your picket which is why I prefer TPU to any other material. However I think the gel case provides more protection. I've dropped that onto brick and had no worries. Go with TPU if you're careful and have a desk job.

Any news on poetic cases?

I had a poetic case for my Nexus 7 and I love it. Any news in poetic offerings for the Shied Tablet?
Their eta is 15th September.
Which poetic case are you referring too? I emailed them a few days ago and they responded saying they didn't have any plans for the flip case style (slimline), but only making a silicone skin case.

Here are a couple I've found in my daily browsing, both the Turtle Series and Revolution series, though middle of next month to end of next month pending which one.

I ordered this one yesterday and it looks very much like the Poetic Slimline cases. I'll have to see how it works after it arrives, though, but the price is hard to beat and I like that it offers some drop protection for the corners.

I couldn't find a better thread, so I was hoping for assistance here. I just got the revolution case, but the screen protector on the inside has an oily sheen when it presses against the screen. Any suggestions on the best way to remove that after popping the tablet back out of the case? It is bad enough that it impacts the display quality significantly.
Thanks!

The screen protector is glued on to the inside of the front frame so you can heat it up with a blow dryer or a heat gun then pry it up at a corner and peel it back. Otherwise you can take a razor and just cut around the opening of the frame and it should do the trick.

Oh! I'm sorry, I was not specific enough. I was hoping to clear off the oily sheen effect, not actually removing the screen protector. Thank you though for those steps.
pretty sure the sheen is the screen protector material itself and not some kind of coating. The oldschool ballistic cases used to do this and one of the possible solutions was to sprinkle some baby powder on it to prevent it from sticking.
A trick that worked for the Otterbox on my wife's Galaxy S3 might work here as well:
First clean the display and the inside of the screen protector. Get some baby powder and while leaving the top closed shake up the container to get the powder into a fine dust inside. Take the screen protector and hold it above the shaken baby powder bottle(?), open the top of the powder and squeeze the bottle so a powder cloud comes out and slightly dusts the inside of the screen protector.
Put the case back together and hopefully the oily film is gone. Clean/Repeat as necessary.
There are videos on YouTube showing this solution. Some use the powder on the device, I think it's wiser to do it on the case/screen protector.

HTC U Ultra Glass Screen Protector Thread

Alright, looks like the U Ultra is going to have curved edges, so let’s make a mega thread here for screen protectors. Since the edges are curved, we’re either going to have to make do with the non-full screen, or the protectors with the black borders and dot matrix.
Please leave links in the comments to the protectors that you are buying, and then please leave reviews after you get a chance to apply it. I’ll edit this main post every now and then with good protectors that are proven to work.
Thanks in advance everyone!!
Hi there,
Good idea for a thread.
I received this from a friend in Taiwan.
http://imgur.com/a/dnvgj
It IS full coverage, and has adhesive on the black areas as well as the clear areas. When stuck on well, there is no rainbowing, or other visible artefacts. However, my personal application was not great, I got a speck of dust and a strand of lint so i have 2 air bubbles in those spots.
Fit is pretty good. Cut out for LED and ear piece, and clear windows for the back and multitaks keys. Camera is also covered. Extends to about 1mm from actual edge.
Unfortunately, I havent been able to find this online.
Just bought this.
Will return to you when received

I'm seeing your opinions about the screen protectors, and I get the impression that the overall quality is alright in several models. But it's been a while since you last posted here and wanted to know if you have changed your mind or you still consider those protectors a good buy.
