I'm using the latest versions of cm9 skankwich and devil kernel. I have auto rotate checked under dock/general, display, and accessibility. The screen won't rotate on homescreen, or any app, including YouTube. No problems a a few days ago on cm7.
I don't think Devil Kernel is compatible with Skankwich. Try out Icyglitch or the stock kernel.
Auto rotation is broke on the latest Skankwich build and makelegs (the dev that works on it) is aware of it. You can try TeamHackSung's build 13 or if you're not mind set on running CM9 you can use the latest AOKP version.

Auto rotation wasn't working for me on the newest Skankwich with the glitch skunkworks kernel. I flashed Icyglitch V14 beta 6 and it's been working fine ever since.
Ditto. I don't know what I was doing wrong before, but newest skankwich plus icy glitch 6 has my screen rotating again

Hello,
I'm a new user so I have the restriction of 10 posts before replying on a Developers Thread.
I have CM7 Nightly Build 181 with Glitch v13. Today I have downloaded "Voodoo Control" app from Market. After that, whenever I want to take a photo or use the cam, or when I want to play a video, the colors go completly off --> so darky and wrong colors on all until I reboot and it comes back to the normal ones.
Does anyone knows what is happening?
Thanks!
I have tested all roms (stock , custom) but all have the lag only the ics kang cm9 is fluide (alpha)
the rotation betwen landscape and portrait take 3 - 2 s
what the problem I have ??
sorry bad english

honeycomb has hardware acceleration problems in rendering 2d graphics but there is a simple fix you can find on youtube i think by taping add widget menue
I have see the video but the fix dont do anything
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
I have tested 3.1 stock and it working without lag
I have tried the pre-alpha kang cm9 for a couple of days, and apart from a few graphical glitches when rotating, the the low frame rate for 2d rendering problem was gone. Everything was a lot smoother, even in pre-alpha with only a 2.6 kernel, it was a lot smoother than honeycomb. So, I am sorry to say, but I believe the only way to get rid of this low frame for 2d animation for you, is to wait for Ice cream sandwich. Which shouldn't be more than a couple of months away.
Honest to goodness my 10.1 is just as smooth as ICS with the following installed
CWM 4.0.0.4
Galaxy Task 10
b00sted ICS Blue theme
TouchscreenTuneUp (found in the market)
ADW Launcher EX
I swear I have no lag what-so-ever. I just got my tab to become lagless last night after multiple Roms/launcher/etc configs and this truly does work for me. (US Version 16GB WiFi)

Anyone have setcpu working properly with ICS? Used Omega and PureICS and setCPU seems to cause my phone to hang with a black screen. Holding the power button to restart the phone is the only way to get the phone working again.
are you undervolting or underclocking your phone? if so, try using normal settings and see if the problem goes away.

No undervolting- no kernel support. I don't actively overclock/underclock but I do use profiles which is the reason I use setcpu
i haven't tried those roms along with setcpu, but i am running resurrection remix 9.3 ics with setcpu profiles and no problem. have u tried flashing a different kernel? i've had the same issue appear after flashing some kernels on gingerbread in the past...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Using with resurrection remix 9.3 (ICS LPH) and doesn't seem to be a problem.
Am getting a lot of FCs with google messenger but dont see that it is related to SetCPU.
Worked fine on remix 9.2 also. Google messenger also worked fine with the older rom version.
Well I don't use google messenger. Not sure if it's a kernel thing. I had the issue when I was on Omega's LPB and LPH roms. Now I'm on PureICS LPH and it has the same issue. There really aren't any custom kernels to try out
The ICS roms are still beta and buggy from what i have seen. Suggest you try resurrection remix which seems to work with setcpu, or wait for more stable ics version to be released. You can also try an alternate app to setcpu if you really want to stay with your ROM.

One friend had to change the processor because SetCpu burn it
Be careful with this app...
I recommend never using any such apps... they mess with scripts.. find a good developer who makes good kernel + rom and let it do its thing !!!
Once installed only full wipe install will fix ....

I found disabling my screen off profile off 100mhz - 200mhz fixed my issue of hanging black screen on ICS
I've tried setCPU on my galaxy s2 running Resurrection Remix ICS Pro, tried every setting, (200-1000, 500-1000, etc) but still froze my device. So I end up uninstalling it..
Currently using AutoKiller Memory Optimizer. So far so good.
Don`t use set cpu with ics roms, is not compatible with all ics kernels, yet. If you want underclocking, use voltage control or rom toolbox. For me is better do not touch kernel settings, leave it as default, no freeze, no black screen.

Works for me on ICS. Also worked on ICS on my galaxy nexus.

hey guys I'm trying to make my way around to all these roms to try for myself. just wanted to get a headsup on what to expect? what are some differences between pure cm9 and cm9 builds like hydrog3n and resurrection.
like I had cm7 on my sgs1 and it had built in BLN that didnt rape battery, I'm not seeing that on my hydro rom. also getting a weird bug where task manager pops up over lockscreen when unlocking .. anyways ill drop some thanks rep to anyone who gives feedback

pure cm9 is pure、fast and clean, even without file Exploerer.
Hydrog3n and Resurrection build is based on AOKP,which have more setting about UI and CPU/IO control

They are all AOSP based, most of the AOSP based ROMs for the SGS2 at least use the device setup from CM9 and usually add their own tweaks and themeing to it, but the overall experience is going to be similar, keep in mind however that CM9 updates on a fairly regular basis (nightlies aren't every night atm, but close) whereas some of these other ROMs may take weeks to incorporate new AOSP features. As for BLN you would need a custom kernel for this, CM stock doesn't currently support it, also on the SGS2 BLN holds a wake lock where on the SGS it did not, this will cause far more drain on the SGS2 than you experienced on the SGS, unfortunately this doesn't appear avoidable.
Pure CM9 > Update Faster
CM9 builds like hydrog3n > Have AOKP, more tweak as the above said
CM9 builds like resurrection > Have AOKP merged with gapps
i dont use google service, just sync contact and mail from Google, so i choose in between hydrog3n and CM9
finally,i choose to use Pure CM9 as it updated faster.
Hydrog3n is a very good rom. A lot of tweak and a cm9 base. But the battery life is not optimized for this time.

A good place to start here would be to read each ROM's thread. We have enough clutter and non-meaningful conversation as it is. We don't need anymore lazy users asking for the Cliff Notes.

I tried to put this in development but was refused, The stock rom i got with this Note was terrible, so i tried liquid and it was great and BLN evne worked perfectly for one day, then it completely crashed and no audio or mic, so i flashed a custom rom that is close to stock and now everything works perfectly. Thing is i do not have BLN on this rom, is there any way to flash a stock kernal with BLN enalbed without overclocking or anything like that? I like the way light flow blinked the menu lights to remind me of mail/text/missed call but using a cm10 based rom at this point os not worth it if the phone crashes.
BTW BLN is BackLight Notification
Just use Flapjaxxx ULF6 stock rom. It has BLN built in the kernel and the widget is included in the rom.
awesome will try this, thank you
