I was wondering if it is possible to flash the Droid X2 to Boost Mobile? I picked up one for cheap and my friend needs a new phone. He is on Boost Mobile. I have heard of flashing sprint phones to work on Boost Mobile, but wasn't sure about if Verizon phones could possibly work on Boost. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Im sure you can, but its kinda tricky because the nvitem for an authentication is locked to verizon, so youll need to write custom nvitem and write it using cdma workshop or DFS ,
I can confirm this as im using for at least 2 different cdma operator here in indonesia, both running evdo rev.a smoothly

Hi Friends:
Recently, I bought a new HTC Rezound and I would like to have your inputs about how can I program/configure my HTC Rezound for Iusacell carrier in Mexico.
I have a HTC Evo 4G with a Iusacell’s line and it’s working perfect.
Can you share with my your experiences and recommendations about it?
• Voice Settings & Configuration
• Data Settings & Configuration
• MMS Settings & Configuration
What tools do you use? (CDMA Workshop, DFS Professional CDMA, QPST, etc.)
Thanks in Advanced for your help
TecMan
HTC Rezound
At XDA we are unable to help you with this unfortunately because it is against the rules here.
You would have no luck with cdma anyway. I have used mine with telcel just fine though.

I'd like to think you can switch SIMs but you may have to use the Venusaur ROM because I know there's a GSM fix in it.

Yea I heard Venasuar is the way to go but I just hope GSM bands wont be an issue getting decent data and voice coverage

The miui Rom would be an alternative to use too.

Eh MIUI never tickled my fancy lol
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2
Mine either but for gsm It's easier. Just load the rom and you're good. It comes up as gsm so you don't have to set it to gsm.

Thanks man. I been thinking about buying a cheap unlocked phone just in case the gsm bands on the rezound aren't supported by whatever carrier I end up using while I'm there. Verizon is too damn expensive on roaming

The Rez has all the gsm bands I think except AT&T 3G.
Ah well thats good to know

im wondering if this phone has a MEID for CDMA uses....im trying to flash this phone to metropcs but i cant seem to get a MEID only the IMEI....
if anyone has any info please help....
I have 2 MaXX's on order..
My son has a bionic.. on the box for the bionic, there is an IMEI number and no MEID
The VZW rep said the SIM card is for 4G but he didn't seem to know much..
This is al li know for now but I've wanted to research it a bit myself
I think you still need a sim to activate the phone. Even though it is for 4g data purposes. You need the sim even if you dont plan on using verizon's 4g.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk
Even you are able to flash to metropcs you can't use metros 4G since Verizon and metro 4G networks are different. You will be stuck with metro 1x service.

so does anyone know how i could get this phone into metro pcs system?
can someoen please send me their email if they have a solution and i will pay for it!! i add esn's to metros inventory they dont accept ones with 99xxxxxxxxxx . any help would be appreciated
Motorola phones have an IMEI and MEID.
The MEID = IMEI - Last Digit
was wondering if this could be possible cause i was reading the forums and found someone that did it by flashing the ap to the verizon razr if you could help me out that would be great thanks
It's not possible. Verizon uses CDMA, EVDO and LTE. AT&T uses GSM and UMTS. Completely different technologies. However, if you can get an XT910, a GSM version of the RAZR, you can use it on AT&T (this is what I have).

im actually looking into this because my cousin has just left Verizon for att and it is possible they use sim cards and people have reported it working im not sure on many details of it yet but its out there just google "verizon droid razr on at&t"
look here http://blog.laptopmag.com/ics-world-phone-capabilities-come-to-verizons-droid-razr-and-razr-maxx
You cannot do that after the ICS update. With ICS, you can roam onto global GSM networks but many people have reported that you cannot change the default network from Verizon.
From everything I've heard the xt912 has the appropriate radios to connect with at&t cell towers but the usage of this feature is being blocked by vzw. Now I don't know if a custom rom like cm9 would allow for this or not.

Try going to the dial pad. *#*#4636#*#* you should be able to set your radio to gsm

I believe the open is talking about using an at&t sim card on an at&t plan, not just roaming on their bandwidth

There are people working on it but it's not yet possible.
RAZR on AT&T network
Yes it is possible. I did it. The only thing is that I only use the phone for calls and texts and WiFi for data. In the bionic forum, they tell you to download Radiocomm. I did not do that. AlI did was just change the setting to gsm/utms network and placed the AT&T sim card and waited for 15-30 minutes for the phone to connect
Btw, I'm on ics.
Well,I tried to attach pic but admin won't let me

I'm coming from the Motorola side of things and I do not know which files are the radio files. I'm in need of doing some modifications to try and get the Radio to get Verizon towers. I only have a month or so then I switch to T-mobile but would like to get the LGOG working on Verizon's network. I know the chip is capable of those frequencies just need to modify the Radio files.
I know the Motorola Droids call them .ril not sure for LG.

Verizion is cdma, you aren't going to be able to activate it on their network because the esn/imei isn't in their system. They like sprint will only activate a phone that is for their network.
This is so far from the right section, even moto forums aren't that backwards...

Yeah, I've tried to no avail. I did get the mbn files to try and get the radio up on Verizon but no luck thus far. So I will be passing this up for now but will continue to tinker.

I am currently using a Droid incredible on Straight Talk and used the BYOP program to do so. And today, just for sh#ts and giggles I ran my xt912's MEID through their compatibility checker. and it claims that it will work. Now from what I've read online and on XDA I've come to the conclusion that it is not a possibility. I'm just wondering if possibly they (Straight Talk) have made it possible or this an error. Any insight is appreciated thanks.
Try it out!

My mom has straight talk , i have an xt912. currently active with verizon . how can i try it out if it works with her sim ?
The xt912 will not work with her sim from the straight talk sim program that would be T-Mobile of AT&T this phone will not work with them because of the lock on our phones. To use straight talk on this phone u need St byop cdma program which does not give you a sim just uses the old 3g phones and u may have to do some cdma workshop changes like you have to do for page plus, hope this helps
