Hi!
I had a rooted galaxy s 3 for about 2 weeks, today I discovered that if I revolve the headphone jack while listening to music the sound distorts and sometimes one side stops sounding at all, so going to send it back.
So in pursuit of unrooting and setting binary counter to 0, I somehow changed my baseband version.... Is it going to be any problem... When I connect the phone to Kies it says that your phone is not compatible to upgrade via Kies......

Please remove the space before .com, I am new here, can't post pics or links..... Sorry for that.
One more thing, even though the md5 file I used to flash said it is XXLE8 but it happened to be DXLE8..... :-(
Any help is highly appreciated....

Thank you very much buddy....... really appreciate it........ Thanks+
But here a problem.....
If I flash this, binary counter will increase.
To reset counter I need to root.
To unroot again I need to flash stock ROM with different baseband verion.
To change baseband I again have to flash this file.
Infinite circle... :-(
I am sure I am noob enough to miss something here.......
Thanks again.....

Steps
1. Root your phone
2. install mobile Odin
3. Use triangle away to reset the counter
4. use mobile odin (no pro) to flash stock rom/modem
5. Your phone is now w/o root/cwm and in stock condition.
Hope that helps
Thank you sooo much........ Solved the problem smoothly....
Thank you both of you.....

Hi,
My Friend brought new s2 GT-I9100 for me.
I downloaded India firmware (GT-I9100_INU_I9100XWKE8_I9100DDKE2_I9100ODDKE2.tar) into that from that time it got hanged at logo.
After that I downloaded UK vodafone firmware same problem (I9100BULPG_I9100VODLPB_VOD). Badly I Selected re-partion and given .Pit file also.(u1_02_20110310_emmc_EXT4.pit)
Wipe data/factory reset also not working ...
Please help me to resolve the problem. More details given below.
Model: GT-9100
SSn:I9100GSMH
FCCID: A3LGT9100
IMEI:359372/04/737835/1
S/N: RVUBB78992H.
And please suggest me suitable firmware.
Sorry for my bad English
So basically you know nothing about rooting/android and you ticked re-partioning whilst flashing with Odin? I suggest you return the phone and get a new one and don't much around with it because the process to fix your phone now is really awkward (if it's even possible).

(After reading many threads I tried that one). Any way still your saying possible, so please suggest me I will do that. If not happens finally I will do what you said.
Google how to fix a re-partition. Something about flashing a new pit file. Soz but I don't know, maybe another member can help.

Hello everyone,
I have a big problem, my cellphone charging system is dead and I need to send it to repair. I charged my battery on my friends gs2 so I could try to make it back to stock. I have already reset the custom binary counter with the "triangle-away" app by chainfire. I wanted to use odin to install the default stock rom by from my carrier TMN from Portugal but I can only find .tar files and rooted ones.
I'd like to know if it's possible to "convert" a .tar to .zip and use it on CWM since I can install other roms though it but can't use odin.
I was using the latest leak from samsung xxlsj.
I used other chargers and no sign of charging... Please help me putting my phone stock and unrooted...
How can I manage to do this?
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE :highfive: !

A usb port replacement costs only a mere 15$ and sometimes cleaning the micro usb with a brush does do the trick for most people.
And if you have root Mobile Odin might help you to return to stock also if you don't have root you can root using Exynos Abuse app by chainfire.
You might have to Unroot later though and using Mobile Odin doesn't trigger the flash counter.
I have not used Mobile Odin with JB so please be careful and read a lot before you do anything.

Do you know where I could find instructions on how to flash a PIT?
this is file come from sammobile.com website
providing u the right PIT file with flasher
http://www.mediafire.com/?ddfpfkk2pb8326k
connect ur mobile , open odin program and then press on PIT button and navigate PIT files then (as i think) choose the latest PIT file with name i9300 (ur mobile Model) and latest date and then hit start ..... good luck but i recommend u send it to ur Samsung repair center if warranty cover
good luck

before messing with pit files, which is extremely dangerous, flash a stock ROM through Odin and then do a factory reset from recovery

Exactly this^^^^....pit file flashing is an absolute last resort, not a first solution
did you tried flashing 4.0.4 stock rom with odin?
same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago, flashing 4.0.4 and after that flashing 4.1.2 fixed it.
try to do not mess with pit especially if you didn't backup your efs folder. it is not needed.

I've already tried to flash a stock firmware, but I still couldn't get it into recovery. I'm not sure if it was the right one though. I have a regular unbranded SIII, is there a specific firmware I should flash?

okay? the first thing to do here is just flash a stock ROM, no need for pit files
Mine was stuck before than samsung logo, on the model number screen. Almost 1 second or less after opening the device.
Then i flashed 4.0.4 and magically it opened without any loop or something. Its useless to flash 4.1.2 or any other jb stock rom, for some reason it seems not fixing the loop issue.
Again, there is no problem related with pit files.

It's all individual, what worked for you might not work for others. Don't say that flashing JB is useless, because it's not
I flashed stock 4.0.4 firmware through odin. The operation was successful, but I was still unable to enter recovery. What am I doing wrong?

Follow the steps to root and flash your custom ROM again as if you just got your phone. The same thing happened to my T999, and it took me 3 tries doing this to finally get back into Recovery.
try to flash in odin stock rom then root use cwm then try to go to recovery..
My cousin's having the same exact issue and we've been unable to find the proper rom. Can anyone please tell me where to get one? I've downloaded some "international" ones but when i try to upload it it keeps telling me failed, i've tried at least 4 or 5 different roms.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!
Phone is:
GT-i9300
using it in the US with StraightTalk in the US (been working like a charm for ~6 months, all of a suddent when into this weird limp mode)
Phone was running jellybean 4.1.1 (through kies) and not rooted
Try several times before giving up. Sometimes it works after when the device feels that you've had enough stress and fear.
I mean the problem is common but it's solved in different ways or different repeats.
But it seems that your problem is a software problem that can be solved.

Ok so my cousin is using a S2 from 2 years ...and few months back her device software got so corrupted. So she asked me to fix it.
She said if all the data is lost it's okay ..but she wants her phone to be fixed.
So ..i went to the recovery mode and did a factory reset and then rebooted ..when the phone power up ..I got shocked to see that nothing happened the phone was same.So I tried it 3 times more ..but still nothing happened.
The next thing i thought was ODIN ..because kies sucks and is usually slow...so i went through threads then downloaded ODIN v1.85 ...and the firmware from sammobile.
BTW....MY COUSIN has a S II I9100 and she bought it from India only and right now ..it runs on 2.3.6
So...I downloaded this I9100XWLQ2_I9100ODDLPD_I9100DDLPC_HOME.tar.md5 FIRMWARE which I guess is 4.0.3 (don't remember)
and then I followed the procedure of ODIN ...but when I clicked START..after few seconds it showed "Invalid MD5 hash value".
So I googled that ...and found if you remove the .md5 extension it can be fixed ...but I also read that ..it may sometimes lead to bootloops.
So..next option was kies ..so i connected it showed firmware update available ...then it started downloading the firmware next when it was ready to flash the firmware it showed "BATTERY LOW...PLEASE RECHARGE" ..where as I had charged the battery to 100% and then connected it.
The problem is that the software is so corrupted that the battery drains of soo quickly ...even though the battery is not swollen or damaged.
So..can anyone please help me out with this problem ? I'm totally confused.
Don't worry ..I will HIT the THANKS button even if u just reply
Okay now it's getting totally weird !
So, kies this time updated my phone and then my device restarted and guess what ?
It's still the same...2.3.6
No BLOODY CHANGE !
My device is as it as before kies tried to update it !
and now ODIN also worked and flashed and then the process PASSED...but still the phone is same.
I tried all the methods of updating ..nothing happens !
Can someone please help me out ?

Download CM 9.1.0 stable, then follow the procedure of CF-root to root your SGS2 using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399. Then flash the CM9 by factory reset and wipe cache and wipe Dalvik cache. Use siyah kernel to get good performance. Download a .zip file and flash it using CWM.

You can check out your Build No. like I had XWKL1 under About phone, so you can download that firmware from internet by Googling it, and then try to flash it using Odin. As I have heard that if you update your phone via Odin then you can't update it using Kies. By the way CM9 is awesome you will forget the garbage of Samsung after using it.

Not sure what the CM updater uses, but I have tried to update with Philz, got stuck in an installation loop of the update itself.
Tried to use my jig and flash back to stock right now, got into download mode and was able to flash back to stock, but right now, I got into download with the jig, flashed stock ROM, and got a bootloop but am UNABLE to get into any recovery at all.
Pretty screwed up. Really need some suggestions here, guys.
Any ideas?!
I can get into download mode and flash via Odin (USB drivers installed via Windows 8)
Flashes successfully, installs stock recovery, reboots into bootloop.
No idea how to fix it.
Not a noob here. Nothing is working.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I had the same problem and I ended up finding a working CWM tar file that can be installed using ODIN and I was then able to boot into CWM fine.
This is the exact file name: recovery-cwmtouch-6.0.2.7-GTI9300
I don't remember where I downloaded it from, but if you Google the exact file name I am pretty sure you'll find it. Just flash it using Odin and you'll be good to go.

Well, now I'm even more f****ed than before, because I had a zero count, but after trying this, I got a custom count in download, and I still cannot get into recovery.
Nothing works.
Bye, bye warranty.
Edit:
The 6.0.2.7 version by MSKIP worked, but the updated one did not.
I got recovery, now I'll see if I can flash stock and recovery to get my counter back to zero.
Sorry to hear about the counter. I'd suggest rooting your device, installing Triangle Away, resetting your flash counter and then finally unrooting your device by installing stock ROM from SamMobile or such. That's the best route if you want your warranty to remain intact.

Hi all,
I am stuck in the very same problem as of today!
I don't know what to do!
One more weird symptom is that when I tried to charge the Note battery..it suddenly went to bootloop again!
The battery was 100% at the begining of that damn update process!
I don't know what to do..all suggestions are so welcomed.
