[Q] Only hearing myself in Blue Tooth Headset - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Sprint Galaxy S2. I am having a problem with the BT headset where I only hear myself in the headset and the caller cannot hear me. It's not a faint echo. It is like me talking directly through the microphone into my earpiece. This can happen in the middle of a call, when I answer a call or when I dial a number.
It also has happened with 3 different headsets (Plantronics Voyager Pro HD, a Jawbone, and Rocket Fish headphones).
I am running stock ROM
Android Version 2.3.6
I have done several hard resets on the phone and experienced the same problem before I started adding apps to the phone.
I have no issue with BT when listening to music on the phone.
Does anyone have an answer for this?
This is driving me crazy.

Anyone having this issue - Dialing tones play through the handset speaker and not BT?

I upgraded my XV-6800 to 6.1 using the Verizon ROM and am having a very annoying issue with Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 (it works somewhat).
The issue is this:
Push button on headset to activate MSVC
***Beep*** through headset
Me: Call Home
Msvc: Call Home? (through headset)
Me: Yes
DIAL TONES THROUGH THE PHONES SPEAKER
Bluetooth headphone switches back on once connected
The only way I have found that it works normally is when I have my Plantronics 8010 main headset piece set to "Wireless Stereo" and "Hands-Free" and I have the little icon of the stereo headsets showing on the top (where the start menu is). If that icon isn't there then the phone goes back to behaving the way it was above.
I've tried this with non-stereo headsets (mono only) and it plays the damn dial tones through the speaker on the phone. The other thing is that instead of the ringtone coming through the headset on an incoming call it goes through the phones speaker- when I hit the headset button it connects the call properly.
Can this be a conflict with that garbage software called Cyberon Voice Dialer? Anyone else have this issue and was there a fix?
Thanks!
I wasn't aware this was a bug. This is how it's always operated for me and I thought it was a purposeful function of the software. Besides, I think that dialing sound would get really annoying in my ear.
EDIT: The ringtones play through my headset, though. It's just the dialing sound that doesn't. What are your Phone settings in MSVC?
Ok- just uninstalled MSVC and re-installed (for the the third time) and now the incoming calls play the headset fine but the dial tones play out of the speaker on the handset.
I'm pretty sure this is a bug as it never used to do this on the XV-6700 running MSVC 1.5.
It's honestly been that way on every version I've personally used. It doesn't seem like a bug to me. It's specifically jumping out of the Bluetooth audio bridge to play it, then back in. That seems deliberate to me. Besides, it's an effect of the phone, itself, doing the dialing. Kind of a psychological thing. Besides, I wouldn't want that annoying sound buzzing in my ear.

[Q] s3 bluetooth problem

Hi ppl,
Just got an s3, and I'm having a problem with BT performance. I have 2 old headsets, a proplantronics, and a jabra bt350. When paired with my old TP2, ALL audio came through the headset; handset didn't ring, custom ringtones came through the headset, and navigation directions came through the headset. With the s3, handset rings (get a generic ringtone on headset), and navigation directions are on the handset. S-voice works on the headset. What I want this thing to do is output audio the same way the headphones do, but I don't like dealing with wires! That's the POINT of BT. Any suggestions?
Thnx

Are you talking about playing mp3's? And if so, what program are you using? Just the stock audio player?
no, don't really care to listen to music through these BT headsets. I do not want the handset to ring when BT is connected, and I want navigation instructions over the headset as well. Old TP2, with same headsets had no problem doing either.

[Q] Wired headset not working

Hi.
I just bought Klipsch x7i headphones to use with my galaxy s3. I am aware the volume buttons do not work for android devices which is fine but I assumed everything else would work fine. This is not the case.
The headset (and mic) work perfectly when MAKING calls to others, but the headphones become disconnected when RECEIVING calls (headphone logo no longer shows), and I can no longer hear the other person or speak to them through the mic.
What's the deal? Are there any apps I can download to help or do I have to return these headphones? After searching for an answer I have found out that third party mics do not work for the s3 but what I don't understand is the fact that the headset/mic DOES work when MAKING calls but not RECEIVING them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OK. I've narrowed down the problem. The headset stops working when I press the middle button to receive calls. In other words, if I answer a call using the actual phone, the headset works fine. If I do press the middle button to receive a call, I can no longer hear the other person nor can they hear me through the headset.
I noticed the iphone 5 headset works exactly like the klipsch x7i and has the same problem for me. Does anyone use the iphone 5 headset with the galaxy s3? Does the headset work for you?
I recently bought the Nocs NS400 (iPhone version) and have exactly the same problem. Google Now is also not listening to my headset when I press and hold the middle button. Receiving a call via the middle button somehow mutes my mic for good (and for all eternity until you re-plug the headset). When I am in a call and connect the headset later on, it's not transferred to the headset mic.
I re-soldered the volume keys (added some resistors) to make them work with the S3 (woks fine now) and figured that the original headset is doing something different with the middle button: while the iPhone headset is just doing a short between mic and ground, the original headset is having 50 Ohms here. (maybe that's [part of] the problem)
Could you find out more about this odd behavior?

BT Issues during calls

Hi Guys,
My S9+ has some really weird Bluetooth issues during phone calls. Sometimes, the person on the other end sounds robotic (like a Dalek) but if I switch to speaker phone and back to BT it is fine. Other times, I get the most horrendous noise after a few minutes on the phone and again this disappears when I switch to speaker phone and back to BT.
I use Bose BT headphones, this does not happen with other devices. I’ve done multiple software updates etc and I’m at a loss as it is really frustrating! Does anybody have any ideas?
Currently running latest Pie firmwire but has been same since new.
Kind Regards,
Chris
When I listen music (Spotify or Youtube music), it get glitches if I use BT, but if I connect the wire I can listen without problems.
It's a Sennheiser 4.50BT

Bluetooth Audio and headset problem

Hello everyone. Has a Plantronics Voyager Legend BT-headset and Android 8 on SGS7.
Sometimes (1-2 times in a week) I experienced a problem with BT audio-sound: audio, that might route to BT-headset, comes to a phone speaker. After phone restart this problem gone for 3-4 days, then it repeats again. There is no reasons for this issue, just in one moment after pairing BT-headset audio-sound (like music or notifications readers) goes to a speaker (maybe before pairing, I don't know, in some moment that I can't catch).
BUT phone GSM voice call sound doesn't route to a speaker, only BT Audio does.
Who can explain, what is going on with this? I had the same issue on Android 6.0.1 and believed that after Android Oreo upgrade I get rid of this, but I was wrong, it pursues me.
Thanks to all help.
