First off, HTC has nothing to do with it.
Secondly, both versions of CM are based off open source Android and tweaked to the CM team's desires and wants.
CM7 is based off of Gingerbread.
CM9 is from Ice Cream Sandwich
I'd do some research if I were you.
New versions of android.

Why isn't there a Gingerbread AOSP port for the Optimus One?
andy572 is an AOSP Gingerbread AFAIK

I guess it's AOSP insofar as it's built on Code Aurora and CM sources which both have their roots in AOSP, but isn't that the case with all Android ports?
aosp (android open source project) is the pure original android source which manufacturers use to build their branded phones also used by branches like CM and eventually devs use for their custom roms. everything is based on aosp. it the "source". if you want to call a rom aosp based then it must be completely vanilla

well...the way I see it if you want to get the closest to aosp for a particular device then you'll have to take a stock rom and strip it from all the branded code and bloatware.
That's the curse of android. It's getting modified by manufacturers and carriers so much that it can work to each one device with all this different hardware and gui and filled with bloatware and in result it's becoming a bit difficult to be talking about vanilla version. vanilla compared to what?
i'm trying to working on it pure gingerbread....but it is not simple!
Please try your best devs.. ;-)
Will ICS come to Optimus One.
Heard it will come to any device running GB without lagg, but it also said that there are a few devices that will run it , all high-end, except the Nexus One...
What do you think, if it will not come, will mik_os make the CyanogenMod for it?(not saying 7, maybe ICS CM will be 9, 8 is the HC...).

Ice Cream Sandwich is CM9, cm8 is a corrupted Honeycomb custom ROM...

OK thanks I'll change that
Hi,
coming from HTC Sensation we had a rom where devs took the HTC ICS base - removed (almost) all HTC Sense parts and replaced them with stock AOSP. The result was a very stable rom that looked, felt and behaved like AOSP without the need for devs to manually fix drivers and other issues.
My question is: Is this possible on Samsung roms? Remove TW and replace (almost) completely with AOSP counterparts? I don't just mean theming the rom, but basically turning stock Samsung into (almost) AOSP/Google.
Sorry if this question has been asked (probably) years ago - just wondering.
HyperGalaxy is probably what your looking for much like hypersensation & VI on sensation, thinks it's just changed to the latest OTA jellybean as base.
Keep meaning to try it but have got fond of paranoid rom & cm10 features and haven't had the time.

exactly, VI was my Sensation rom. I'd love something like that. Will look into HyperGalaxy. Thanks.
if you would go to the dev section and read the rom names you will find the answer to your question.. All the roms that are AOSP have AOSP written in their names. like the supernexus rom, hypergalaxy, liquid jellybean, and all the other AOSP roms. there are also AOKP, CM9/X, and PA roms for this phone...you can find all of them in the dev sections
thanks for asking this. i too came from the sensation and was on Hypernonsense. will check out hypergalaxy

Well, too bad, it seems like latest 1.0.2 version includes touchwiz now . I may still try it.
U realize that touchwiz is much more than a launcher? If u want to replace launcher just download another one from market and use it

any ROM that is AOSP-themed like hypersensation for the S3? HyperGalaxy is not, still using stock theme. CodecROM's theme is only half-AOSP and it looks fugly
For a completely AOSP ROM try SuperNexus. Its brilliant.

I'd love aosp. Waiting for mem leak fix first though. That's why I asked about something with Samsung base.
Hi, i've been searching about that rom but i can't find anything related to GB
I need a fully functional camera so i'm stucked with 2.3, is there any Paranoid Android based on any GB version?
Think its only based on ICS and higher. Paranoid android is a nice ROM, but doesn't serve much purpose on our 4" screens. It would be great on something like S3 or Note.

Looks official, it's been released for the Nexus devices, so expect our favorite custom roms to pick up on it soon!

Nice to hear.
What are I777 user flashing right now? I know XDA dont like posts comparing ROMs.
I just need to know the most popular ones, the kernel of the moment... i need to update my old phone today.
I saw Shostock there, lol, really old to these days.
Is there any big issue with the newest android and I777?

Ratus, good to see you around again.
Check out the Development thread, as rogersb has been cranking out a CM 4.4.3 rom, while cyril has SlimKat/Saber running 4.4.2.
There are some ported ones too (4.4.2), and they're extremely easy to upgrade with no specific i777- bugs that I can think of.
Is there a KK rom out there that doesn't have the reboot bug with camera apps?

Yep, try out C-ROM. It's an i9100 rom but can be booted on the i777 by using Shift Kernel.
