Always happens with me when i use the kitchen.
You can use the kitchen to mod stuff and use the meta-inf folder from other rom. After the modifications are complete, agaun replace the meta-inf folder from another rom.

Hey... To fix wifi... You should unzip the file and drag all the files from system/ect/wifi in the stock rom into the miui rom... And then in system/lib there should be 2 files that start with libnet***.so replace those 2... Or i think flashing the kernel from cm7 will fix it too... Tell me if those work

I extracted the MiUI rom and CM7 roms to 2 different folder with 7zip.
I then coped and over wrote teh two folders mentioned above for key mapping.
Then rezip with 7zip and picked "store" as the compression level

I really have no idea what I'm doing though. I did get the zips to flash late last nigh.
So I am still using MiUi + ATT Kernel and Radio and it is rock solid so far. I still don't have home key but I can survive for now. Also WiFi doesn't work and if you try to turn it on it will soft reset every 10 seconds.

Works on Alpha 2!
Currently being worked on for latest nightly.
THIS IS NOT MY WORK. Just sharing something I found. The site says it should work on all tablets running ICS with CWM.
I've yet to try it due to lack of free time with my TP, but I figured maybe someone else could figure out if it works, since I'm busy.

I tried this a couple days back, I believe I'm the person you are referring to by saying it wasnt working on the Touchpad. I asked the dev and he is looking into it.
I'm trying to fix the installer and I will look into it later today.
I also set up my homescreens, but the thing is that the icons don't align properly and they end up looking bad. I tried it in ADW Ex too as the dev says it works best, but it still didn't work.
Doesn't work with the newest nightly.

So this does work...I just installed it on my touchpad and I was running it with no problem. If you go to the dev's website it tells you to flash your rom again, which wont make you loose any apps, and then flash the first package on the website setup. It will flash and work....now the only problem I have is actually putting the widgets on the homescreen. When I try to move them next to each other horizontally, they overlap :/ But the process on the website does work ^_^

It's working. You have to re-install the nightly without any addon before you flash the theme.

Hmm...I'm using a nightly build. I'd have to check which one I'm specifically using when I get home, but I got the error during the initial flash. I then re-flashed the CM9 nightly rom....and then the first zip package for the MetroUI setup. I didn't restart or anything...I did the ROM flash and then the zip flash. I'll take some screen shots as soon as I get home today.
won't work on AOKP milestone 4 and cherrykang, works on the cm9 nightly.
edit: i have managed to work it all out. ADW Ex launcher has a few limitations in that it won't align the tiles perfectly, anybody know how to sort that?
I have a video of the cwm failure. I reflash cm9 then immediately flash the metro Ui then It aborts.

Yeah, I'm having troubles unbricking i keep getting to the screen where it says please contact nook if this happens again I do have a recovery on the SD card but, when I put the recovery on my SD card it on gives me 50MB left

I don't know anything about your phone, but your zip file is incorrect.
You want to put all the files except META_INF into a folder called system. Look in META_INF/com/google/android/updater-script and you will see this is what the recovery is expecting.
Also, add a boot.img since it will try to flash that as well.
This is what the root directory of the zip file should look like:
Code:
[email protected]:/android/work/moto/zipper# ls
boot.img META-INF system
[email protected]:/android/work/moto/zipper# ls system/
app bin build_proj etc framework media usr
arcsoft build_id build.prop fonts lib tts xbin

I read that thread a little- it looks like a lot of people trying different things. Also, use post numbers because it's page 17 on my computer
So, where did the updater-binary and script come from? The script has to match the rom, but I think the binary is a lot more forgiving. I think a binary from another ics or gb rom should work. Your phone uses yaffs, so maybe an older binary? I thought a lot of the ics devices were moving to ext3/4?
I think the stock recovery won't work. Usually, they will only accept zips that are signed by the manufacturer.

I think that is an error with the update binary. Maybe you can get one from a similar phone? It should be pretty generic, as long as it uses a similar file system/android version. So try to find a binary from an ics device that uses yaffs/MTD.

So the zip that I uploaded flashes, but it doesn't boot?
I think your working boot image is GB or Froyo and the new one is ICS. So maybe if I take the kernel from the ICS boot.img and add the ramdisk from your working one, then maybe it might work.
Maybe...

First, thanks to tommytomatoe for creating the awesome dexo script! I have only automated the process. For more info on the dexo script check TT's thread here.
Also, thanks to volk9029 for all the ROM testing, he tested a majority of the ROMs.
In theory, this script will re-odex any completely deodexed ROM, BUT it depends on the modifications the dev has done to their ROM. ie..if framework.jar is missing "preloaded-classes", the script will abort. preloaded-classes is needed for odex ROMs to boot.
Each of the ROMs listed below as "incompatible" have "preloaded-classes" missing from /system/framework/framework.jar. Each of these ROMs would be compatible if framework.jar is modded correctly. For more info see post # 8
Requirements:
-You need to have the HTC usb drivers installed. If you have HTC Sync installed, you're good to go.
-You need to have usb debugging enabled on your phone. Settings, Dev options, usb debugging.
-I recommend doing a backup before running this script (just in case)
Install:
-Extract zip to pc
-Phone must be booted
-connect phone to pc
-run "Odex my ROM.bat"
The script only takes a few minutes, your phone will appear frozen during the process. When the script is done, your phone will reboot.
DOWNLOAD
Compatible ROMs:
-OMJ's
-Superjelly
-meanbean 3.01
-Viper's ROM 3.10
-Hatka LTE ROM
-Digital Bath ROM
-Micromax A75
-Red Line ROM by billbowers
Incompatible ROMs:
-Flex's Stock w/ Goodies
-Tranquility ROM
-Timberwolf671 ROM
These are the only ROMs tested, if you use this script on another ROM, please post your results & I'll update the list.

some good info from TT about the preloaded-classes issue...
tommytomatoe said:
Good stuff To bring a little more clarification as to why those rams are in the incompatible list.
"Preloaded-classes gets accidentally compiled into classes.dex by sloppy devs
Framework.jar should only be modified using baksmali and smali, never apktool or any other tool.
The bad framework.jar, its classes.dex contains the code and instructions for preloaded-classes already. So when you odex, framework.odex contains preloaded-classes and classes.dex codes - which causes the system not to boot. Odex files should only contain classes.dex code.
How to resolve? Take a fresh framework.jar and baksmali it. Edit it. Then smali. This will ensure preloaded-classes were untouched, as baksmali is smart enough to leave it alone.
Another alternative is to pull classes.dex from fresh framework.jar and baksmali it. Smali when finished and insert back into jar file.
Then, when you odex, framework.jar will contain only preloaded-classes and framework.odex is the optimized classes.dex. "
Of course, autogeeks suggestion works but that is not ideal for the obvious reasons. Mods done to framework.jar would no longer be available, all dependencies on those mods would of course be broken.
...then again, I haven't touched android in a long long time. What do I know

I'm not sure.....all the script does is odex all the deodexed apks in /system/app & /system/framework, and this script is not specific to HTC....you could be the guinea pig
do a full backup & give it a try! worst case u restore your backup

I tried. USB debugging enabled. Computer noticed phone immediately and HTC sync popped up so that didnt seem to be the problem. When i tried the odex my rom bat script and it says press any key to continue nothing happened other than the cursor in the command prompt dropping down a line.

I just used titanium backup to odex system apps. It had no problem doing that. I know that doesn't involve framework though. If you have any suggestions on anything i might try to get the script to work let me know
