Mount to Drive Letter - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Is it possible assign a drive letter to the Xperia S?
Cause as it is at the moment, I can't use SyncToy to put up a folder sync because the Xperia is listed as a seperate device instead of mass storage with a drive letter.

Yes, use the MSC Mounter app from the dev section.

Find MSC app HERE !
By the way, Root required.

Cloning a USB mounted card as internal storage?

Hi,
If this has been asked before i apologies but i've searched, used google, and never really found the answer i'm looking for.
I have a nexus 7, OTG cable, flash drive and stickmount installed. As an external storage device this works fine for movies, audio etc.
I'm not experienced with android having only previously used it on my touchpad, and wondered if the following was possible.
Is there an app that can essentially clone the externally mounted USB drive so that when installing an app with a large data download i can choose to download the data to the externally mounted usb drive instead of the main device memory. An example, Spiderman has nearly 2GB of data and i would prefer to move it using an app rather than having to continuously move the data file from the root to the external USB using es file explorer.
Many thanks for the help

can I view SD card on PC if I attach my Xperia Tablet using USB cable?

Hi everyone,
I attached my Xperia Tablet S to my PC using the USB Cable but cannot see the SD Card in the directory.
I think it should be called 'sdcard2' but it is not there! I wanted, using the PC, to transfer some files between the internal storage and the external SD card.
Off to search more about this but any advice appreciated!!

Won't show i'm afraid.
Alternatives would be an SDCard reader, or transfer the files to your tablet, then using the file transfer app, move them over to the SDcard.
Hi SWFlyerUK,
thanks for your reply!
I understand those options but what I had hoped to do was to have two windows open on my PC, one with the Xperia Tablets internal memory, and one with the SD Cards content. I could then drag multiple files from one window to the other!
I use an Android App file manager as well as Astro File Manager and use those to copy and paste.
Thanks again,
Ofiaich

That sony 'File Transfer' app on the xperia tablet s sucks. There needs to be a direct way from the computer via a usb cable to access the external sdcard (sdcard2). Is this a dead end? Is anyone working on this? Maybe JellyBean will enable this? My Samsung can do it so I cant give up.
Hey, if writing out to the sdcard2 can be solved then I'm sure this can be as well. Sony told me that it was impossible to write to the sdcard2 by any means other than the 'File Transfer' app and that was definitely wrong. So maybe not ever seeing the sdcard2 from the pc via a usb cable is wrong as well.

Really? when you say 'everything', could you elaborate please?
1- can you write to external sdcard2 from any type of app on the tablet, rooted or not?
2- can you see and read/write/transfer files to/from the external sdcard2 from a pc via usb cable, rooted or not?
Those two things would be huge to me......any corroboration from others on this? Thanks

You can write media files to sdcard2
1- some apps are blocked to write to sdcsard2
2-from pc i can write to/from the external sdcard2
but when you use this option

the tablet has rooted and firmware 6b

[Q] Managing MTP devices

I haven't been able to properly manage my Android phone ever since the move to MTP. I am currently out of space on my SGS3 and can't figure out what is eating up the space. On a normal directory in Windows I would use a utility like WinDirStat, but to my knowledge you can't use any such utilities on an MTP device.
How can I tell where the space is being used?
Is it possible to add an SD card to the "MTP pool"?
Thanks guy,
Tynen
I know it's an old thread, but I have this exact same problem so I'm bumping to see if anybody has any answer
You can do this using a file explorer app directly on the device. There are hidden folders (starts with a dot) which don't show up with MTP (I think they don't, not sure). These might be taking space. You can view them with a file explorer app. Also, if you have a custom recovery, you can mount the SD card as USB Mass Storage on your computer.
