Why is that the screen on s3 look misplaced slightly...?? Like on the four corners...the screen's length from the edges isn't equal...is that a common flaw...?? Coz I've seen a few pics of s3 n web as well which shows such a prob....is it bcoz the white paint on top is uneven or is t a problem with screen's fit??

Hello XDA,
I've searched around for this problem a bit, and it seems this issue hasn't been brought up anywhere. If it has, then I apologize.
The S2 has an awesome display with great colors, blacks included, but I noticed this issue one night when I was watching a film on my S2. When the display is showing black/dark images you can clearly see what appears to be glue smudges all over the screen, especially along the rims. It is only noticeable when there's little to no other light in the surrounding environement. Increasing brightness seem to worsen the problem.
It is hard to describe and very difficult to capture on camera but I made an attempt. I can't post links yet it seems but here's an imageshack url:
img842.imageshack.us/img842/5420/blotches.jpg
The image was taken with a Canon 450D with 20 sec exposure (hard to focus when it's that dark I'll tell you). Edited slightly in photoshop to cut down the size.
Here you can see the general color of the screen (gray-ish) and some of the blotches of (what I'm guessing is) glue in the back. If I had to guess I suspect the blotches might come from the capacitive touch layer of the screen. Is this an issue or is it to be expected on phones like these? It's not a major problem but it's actually quite annoying when you're watching a film/youtube clip/playing a generally dark game or whatever. Should I return my device? I've used it for just about a week and a half.
Thanks in advance for any help.
i have this too, its the AMOLED display. you can turn the screen off and on and you'll see it go off n on. not the sgs, but amoleds generally. my omnia HD had this too (1st gen AMOLED)
the blacks are not 100% black i say
Im having this too, nothing to worry about this as it doesnt disturb the beautiful display of this mobile.
Hello, I bought my Galaxy R and I can see that especially upper left corner and whole upper side of display is slightly darker (maybe 15-20%) than lower right corner and whole bottom side of display.
It is noticeable especially on all white background with minimum brightness.
And when Im writing on keypad the letters on left are like slightly darker than on the right side.
Please, could you write how is it on your Galaxy R (i9103)?
I will be very grateful
Anyone with Galaxy R here?
Please, post your experience
Please the owners of Galaxy R, I need answer quickly!
Does your Galaxy R have little less (maybe around 10 -15%) brightness on top of the display than on bottom?
I noticed it on all white background with minimum or low brightness.
Thank you so much.
That sounds bad.
On my Galaxy R, on a white screen and minimum brightness its even all around, except maybe for a thin white line top right, but its less that 1/10 mm thick and not noticeable in regular use.

nedy2k11, thank you for your reply.
Here I posted three photos of my display.
The first two are with minimum brightnes and the third (the last one) is with brightness set around 20%
People, do you think it is normal and acceptable or can I return my Galaxy R back to shop?
Hello to all
As the title says it's another screen defect that this phone have
I have noticed a darker area, which make almost a perfect rectangular shape upper to left of the screen and it is visible only in some circumstances
- screen brightness need to be lower that maximum (the lower it is the higher this defect is visible)
- mostly visible on grey image (for example the market startup) see other images in the links

not visible at all on black screen of course but when the screen is off and with a bright light (sunlight of a power lamp) in some right angles I can see some darker dots (looks to be some kind of liquid inside the screen) at the size of 5mm and also this rectangular shape (good eyes need here ) no picture for this because it is not visible with any camera
I wonder how came to this and is any possibilities to fix this such as those screen burners, could these help? or only a screen replacement?
PS: phone have no waranty
Thanks
Screen burns are permanent on AMOLED as far as I know. You'll either have to live with that or do a costly screen replacement.
Ah well, guess I have to live with it, not a major problem but it's looks a bit ugly sometimes.
Just read a bit more about amoled screen burn and it seems that the blue leds are the most that probably get weaker in time and causing this screen burn, and yes this is an explanation why on a blue screen this is almost not visible no mather of the screen brightness
Maybe burn all the screen with a white image, but I believe the result can be worst that this
Thanks
Hi Everyone!
First of all, sorry for the poor english knowledge.
I have got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7510 with a very interesting problem. The screen show image like oil paint. It's not the general problem with the screen, that has been reported many times. I had changed the complete LCD / Touch modul, also the flex cables, without any positive result. The Tab was not droped, no external, internal damage.
How can I check the source of this issue? I think, that maybe the filters are wrong, and this
Could cause this distorted image. Currently the screen noisie, and really like a 256 colored oil paint, and the image a little frame dropped, like when a movie has only 20 fps.
The atteched image will show the exact problem...
Thanks for any help, or tips
Hello again everyone,
Today, I cleared my desk, opened up my light and decided to go ahead and apply a screen protector on my brand new Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. As I was cleaning it and preparing it I noticed something worrying on the screen. The screen panel (under the glass) doesn't seem to be fully flat and flush. On the right side of the panel I noticed a little "wrinkled line" (quite long one, it's length is 70-80% of screen's length) that can only get noticed under direct light and at an angle. It's really hard to see it but you can see it. I also managed to see it when I put a white color image on my display and turned the brightness to maximum. It was visible again at an angle. You could see that a part of the panel is not fully flat but wrinkles slightly. So, what should I do?? Is it normal or I should go ask for a replacement? I guess will be quite a pain to show them, too. Are panels normal to be like that? If you try check yours try to put it on your desk and open up your desk light (it's easier to see with yellowish light and not modern white LED ones but still) and then check your screen panel at different angles.
Below I got some pictures pointing that.

UPDATE: I went it to a local official Samsung Service and they told it's fine. No problem at all. So this may be normal. I'd like to hear your thoughts too. If you try to check yours tho beware that it's not that easy to see, u gotta get some good lighting and the angle.
