Very unlikely, you would need some really dev work to port it and i just don't think that will happen for a china phone

Ditto, I too think there is next to no real chance of getting any fresh Android version on an iPhone knock-off especially one with such low specs.
Also it appears to be a custom OS of sort (probably the same OS that was on a number of android and iPod Touch knock offs) as a result the software probably has absolutely no drivers or similar hardware to a similar android device.
In Short : Little to No chance of being ported, and even if you could get an android OS to boot, it would probably perform incredibly poorly.
thanks for the info. :good:

Hi Folks. In return for helpful suggestions to my questions below, I'm giving away 50 Google+ invites.
I'm just getting ready for a trip to Europe and would like to upgrade the default Android 2.3 on my new tablet from China. The existing Android 2.3 on it is designed for mobile phones and is also clunky. I know Android 2.3 is only designed for mobile phones, and Android 3.x will be for tablets (and is not yet released by Google to everyone), but I wanted to see if there is a custom Android 2.3 ROM I could use that's better than the stock one and works better for a tablet, and also has less mobile phone processes running, e.g. I had to install a free app to put the darn thing into "Airplane Mode" (which turned off a lot of the mobile phone processes) and still use Wi-Fi, which increased the battery life by 300% !!
So, my Android 7" tablet specs are:
- full details at: www[dot]techtoys2go[dot]com/quicksilver
- Operating System: Android 2.3.3, Kernel version 2.6.35.7
- Processor: Telechips TCC8803 1.2GHz
- Screen: 7", 800*480 multi-touch
- Touchscreen: capacitive (I did NOT buy the cheaper resistive version)
- Memory: 512MB DDR3
- Storage: 4GB built in
- Card Reader: microSD up to 32GB
- Audio: speaker, phones, mic
- Other Ports: miniHDMI, miniUSB
- Webcam: VGA front facing
- 3G Network: 3G ready, external dongle
- Wi-Fi: 802.11b/g
- G Sensor: yes
- Battery: 3.7v 3600mAh lithium
Which custom Android 2.3 ROM do you think will work on this and is good? Help me out guys, I need an answer quick so I can root/burn this sucker in the next few days before my trip on Monday. First 50 cool responses get a Google+ invite Hope that's tempting enough. LOL
Cheers
Steve
You should take a look over on Android Tablet Forum, they have sections for a lot of Chinese Tablets:

Thanks Killall. I took a look, but didn't see anything useful there. Cheers
Well, it seems there is a nice looking ROM specifically for these cheap Chinese tablets. I'm not sure if it will work on my 7" Android tablet, but I guess the only way to find out is to try it. If anyone has any suggestions before I try it, let me know:

Hi S2G's
Samsung has released Galaxy Tab2 With OMAP 4430 with ICS which is same as Galaxy SII I9100G
Source GSMARENA
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Introduction
The question this second-generation Samsung tablet is trying to answer is not "How much better can it get?" The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 stops at how much. It feels safe pretending there's no such thing as a third-generation iPad.
Under different circumstances, the second-generation Galaxy Tab 10.1 would've been a disappointment. It still is, in a way - especially if you expected a substantial upgrade of the original. This duty however falls on another member of the Samsung tablet lineup.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 official pictures
The 10-inch Note is the one with the better specs and the S Pen adds an extra dimension to the tablet experience. And it certainly needs every bit of muscle and brains to stand up to the iPad 3. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has the seemingly easier job to compete with a discounted iPad 2.
On a second thought, although not as much as everyone may've hoped, the actual upgrades over the original manage to make a difference. The voice-call support and the memory-card slot are most welcome. And of course, it comes with Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.
Key features
10.1" 16M-color PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen of WXGA resolution (1280 x 800 pixels)
TI OMAP 4430 chipset: Dual-core 1.0GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor; 1GB of RAM; PowerVR SGX540 GPU
Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich with TouchWiz UX UI

Voice calls
16/32 GB of built-in memory
3.2 MP autofocus camera, 2048x1536 pixels, geotagging
2.0 MP front-facing camera; native video calls
720p HD video recording @ 30 fps with stereo audio recording
Stereo speakers
Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Direct, dual-band, Wi-Fi hotspot

Hi Sam,
Miracast works based on WiFi direct.
And dell venue 7/8 has only WiFi, but no WiFi direct.
So it doesn't support miracast.
And the latest update we have got is kitkat 4.4.2
I hope this helps..

Hello there ya'll.
Last year I purchased an Android TV Box KT-609 from Vision Electronics here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. IMO, it's been a great box to me. It's nothing fancy, with very little bells and whistles but it does the job. I have been doing some research though on how to upgrade this box's firmware or even upgrade the KitKat 4.4.4 to Lollipop 5.1 OS system. Sadly I've been unsuccessful as this box may not be very popular. Below is a picture of the box and the link. I'll also share the information from the Visions website as I can't seem to find a manufacturer's website. If anyone out there knows which manufacture this is and their website address, it would be more than greatly appreciated. Even a link on how to upgrade OS. I look forward to being a part of this community.
Glock.
P.S. Because I'm a new user, it won't allow me to post a link to Visions Electronics so... it's Visions dot ca and search Android TV box KT-609
I can't even post a picture yet either so.... maybe a MOD can be kind and enter a link and or picture on my behalf until I earn my stripes. Thanks.
