Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1
Introduction
The question this second-generation Samsung tablet is trying to answer is not "How much better can it get?" The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 stops at how much. It feels safe pretending there's no such thing as a third-generation iPad.
Under different circumstances, the second-generation Galaxy Tab 10.1 would've been a disappointment. It still is, in a way - especially if you expected a substantial upgrade of the original. This duty however falls on another member of the Samsung tablet lineup.

The 10-inch Note is the one with the better specs and the S Pen adds an extra dimension to the tablet experience. And it certainly needs every bit of muscle and brains to stand up to the iPad 3. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 has the seemingly easier job to compete with a discounted iPad 2.
On a second thought, although not as much as everyone may've hoped, the actual upgrades over the original manage to make a difference. The voice-call support and the memory-card slot are most welcome. And of course, it comes with Ice Cream Sandwich right out of the box.

Best 7" Android tablets with 3G?

I currently have a Motorola Xoom and I do love it, but I have come to realize that comfortably holding it with one hand while using it is not easy. It's constantly slipping out of my hands while I try to maneuver it around. I would like something just a bit more portable and maneuverable. So I am looking for a good 7" android tablet with 3G capability. Here are the specs I am looking for:
OS: Android 2.2 or 2.3
Screen: Capacitive Multi-touch
Processor: Dual-core (if possible, but not necessary)
RAM: 512MB (at least)
Internal Memory: 2GB minimum (4GB-8GB preferred)
Memory Expansion: MicroSD is a MUST!
WiFi: 802.11 B/G/N (Prefer Dual-Band N, but not necessary)
Mobile: 3G (4G would be nice too, but not necessary)
Price: Prefer under $200 but under $300 is more reasonable.
The closet tablets I have found to these specs are the Samsung Galaxy Tab and the Dell Streak 7. I would like something that has a decent developer backings because I do love modding with ROMs and such. What scares me about the Dell Streak 7 is all the reports of soft bricking it by the NAND becoming Read-Only.
So any tablet gurus out there know of anything that meets the above specs? Thank you for your time!

Very unlikely, you would need some really dev work to port it and i just don't think that will happen for a china phone

Ditto, I too think there is next to no real chance of getting any fresh Android version on an iPhone knock-off especially one with such low specs.
Also it appears to be a custom OS of sort (probably the same OS that was on a number of android and iPod Touch knock offs) as a result the software probably has absolutely no drivers or similar hardware to a similar android device.
In Short : Little to No chance of being ported, and even if you could get an android OS to boot, it would probably perform incredibly poorly.
thanks for the info. :good:

[Q] Need Help, Which Android tablet is better?

I am looking for a tablet for my family member but as there are many models with different features and sometime they overlap each other. Also price is a concern as I have budget of up to $160 (+/- $10).
As I search on net for tablets, lot of Chinese tablet came up with the price around my budget and many less than that. I summed up my search to Ainol tablets including Ainol Venus and Discover. But as I read the reviews regarding both tabs as well as other Ainol tabs, it seem as there is falling trend of quality or maybe they had such experience from having Ainol tablets.
So it would be very helpful if someone guide me in choosing a tablet from Ainol Venus or Discover or maybe better than both within my budget. Also there's another tab, Pipo S3 tablet as it is Dual Core whereas the above tabs are Quad Core. This is the another factor which made me confuse to decide for a tab. Either should I go for Dual Core or Quad Core? Please guide.
Tab with these features would be better:
7 or 8 inch, IPS screen would be plus, 16:9 screen ratio would be better, 1 GB or 2 GB DDRam, 16 GB internal memory, no GSM/3G required, bluetooth would be plus, dual camera (regardless of megapixels), Android 4.1/4.2, HDMI output, OTG port
Thanks in advance.

Android TV Box KT-609

Hello there ya'll.
Last year I purchased an Android TV Box KT-609 from Vision Electronics here in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. IMO, it's been a great box to me. It's nothing fancy, with very little bells and whistles but it does the job. I have been doing some research though on how to upgrade this box's firmware or even upgrade the KitKat 4.4.4 to Lollipop 5.1 OS system. Sadly I've been unsuccessful as this box may not be very popular. Below is a picture of the box and the link. I'll also share the information from the Visions website as I can't seem to find a manufacturer's website. If anyone out there knows which manufacture this is and their website address, it would be more than greatly appreciated. Even a link on how to upgrade OS. I look forward to being a part of this community.
Glock.
P.S. Because I'm a new user, it won't allow me to post a link to Visions Electronics so... it's Visions dot ca and search Android TV box KT-609
I can't even post a picture yet either so.... maybe a MOD can be kind and enter a link and or picture on my behalf until I earn my stripes. Thanks.
