[Q] Folder open and close sounds - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Once a folder is added to the homescreen, every time you open and close the folder it plays those annoying 'folder open' and 'folder close' sounds.
Has anyone got any idea how to disable these?

You can either turn it down or disable it in settings > sound > volume > System - to turn it down or Settings > Sound > Touch Sound - to disable it
Hope this helps

[Q] I can't get my TBolt to vibrate when I recieve texts or emails

Hey guys, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but my TBolt won't vibrate when I get a text or email, but it will when I receive a phone call. I am running Chingy's Perfect Storm 1.3. Any ideas for me? Thanks a lot!

If you are using the HTC Messaging app open it hit Menu >> Settings under the Received Messages area select Vibrate.
Within GMail hit Menu >> More >> Settings scroll down and hit Vibrate then select the option you would like to use.
Within the HTC Mail App, hit Menu >> More >> Settings >> Notification Settings and hit "Notification vibrate" to turn it on.
Hope this helps.
See this is why I asked where I could locate the file responsible for vibration. I want to see if I can create an app or just a general change to set it to a more pronounced vibration. I'm a noob so I have to ask. That is the only real reason I rooted. I hate the fact they don't just put a check if I want it to vibrate on any call or notification. And a slider to adjust the length of said vibration.

Yep. Go to Settings -> Sounds and from there you can disable vibrate on calls and SMS. You can also disable haptic feedback (tiny vibrations when you press buttons).
For apps that create notifications, you have to disable vibrate in that app's settings. For example, to disable vibrate on WhatsApp notifications, you have to go into the WhatsApp settings menu and disable it.
Thanks a lot !!! works great ! !

Vibrate + Ring?

So on my old 2.3 ROM I could choose to have my phone always vibrate. Now on ICS I can't find that setting. It isn't there. Vibrate can only come on when in silent mode.
Is there any quick fix to enable this again? Or maybe an app that someone knows of?
I want this function , too
In cm9 I can just go to sound (or what ever it is in english version) and select: vibration + ringtone

Download the app "Sound manager" from the market, U can choose there for 'Vibrate settings' in the menu, and resolve that problem bij choosing VIbrate whenever possible

It's in the quick panel which you can pull down from above.Tap the sound icon and it will cycle through sound - vibration - silent - sound vibration.
Or you can download the "sound manager" . it's pretty good.
P.S: It seems every app in ICS has their own notification settings . And in default most of them are set to not to vibrate when a notification pops up.So check out apps' settings first.

Disable increasing ring

I was wondering if there is a way to disable the increasing ringtone when receiving a phone call without rooting your phone.
Go to the dialer Screen.
Press the menu button
Open Call Settings
Disable "Increase Ring in Pocket"
You're done

Vibration Settings Please Support (CM12.1 - CM13)

Is there any way to disable the vibration of all phone functions and notifications ? That works in CM12.1 or CM13 . I thank those who respond ...
It's there in sound settings (screenshot attached). I'm on temasek, not sure about these options in CM12.1 or 13.

Not option, for disable Vibration :/
don't know about cm12.1 but in cm13 you can block apps ability to use vibration...
1. just go to - Settings > Privacy > Privacy Guard > enable privacy for any app by single tapping on app (alternatively, you can select enabled by default)
2. tap and hold to edit options for app...
3. scroll down and you'll find the option "Vibrate" just disable it and you're good to go!
as for disabling vibration for incoming call..
1. just go to Settings > also vibrate for calls and disable it.. moreover just two options down there you can find the option to reduce vibrator intensity...
2. as for the incoming messages you can find the option to disable vibration in the respective app...
and here you are left with no vibration at all!!
(psst.. moreover if you disable an app's vibration, that app's notification won't be able to vibrate the phone either)
what's more cool is that in the same menu of privacy settings you can also disable the app's ability to access internet over wifi or mobile data

How did you ever find that setting? haha. Did they hide it on purpose? Thank you very much.
Sometimes it seems like we can do everything but change the colour of our phone with the press of a button, but that vibration was killing me to try and stop it.
