( Dev ) CARBON EXPRESSO skin for froyo - Wildfire Themes and Apps

Hi i would create a new skin ( the carbon expresso ) based on my desire skin.I need help and somorne who have dropox / mediafire acount to upload it.
First we have to mod the clock.
Secondly mod the navbar.
WILL add the version of the mod here.
If you like the project press on the tanks butom.

I'm a bit confused, you say you've ported it to wildfire but they look like mdpi to me so how did you port it, can't you just use com.htc.resources.apk framework-res.apk and rosie.apk from a stock rom, swap the images for yours and that's it. No resizing should be needed I thought the framework did the resizing and if there is any to do it should be minimal.

I try this way also but we need to resize all the png for the navbar and it's hard to mod the rosie.We need to resize all the png it will be dificult but we can do that.And these skin are the first relase .I upload those to get help in order to have final relase.So if you want to help me you are welcome( i don't know if that means what i want to say but...)

[Q] Porting Sense 2.1 Themes from HDPI to MDPI

hallo,
i would like to port sense 2.1 themes from HDPI to MDPI, i use this tool to port the .pngs http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785864 this works. But i dont know what i must do next. can anyone help me? btw. i use this themes http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1048894

I'm not the dev here, but have you tried to put these new graphics in the apk's folder /drawable-mdpi/ and /drawable-land-mdpi/ ?
Maybe you could ask cryshop because he knows something more about the android/htc UI i think
I put the mdpi folders back in the apk but doesn't work, so I think I must edit any other data

Guys, did you look around before posting this?
All you have to do is replace the png files in an existing MDPI theme....
Images should have very similar shapes and exactly the same resolution as the image you're replacing...

I think he means to use another theme as base, for example the Herring.apk from ogo2's Rom and put the new files in there.
but the hering.apk have other folders drawabl-land-mdpi, drawabl-mdpi and drawabl. But in the portet theme are drawabl, drawabl-land-mdpi-v4, drawabl-mdpi-v4, drawabl-port-mdpi-v4.

Try Schiefer.apk, also from ogo2 ROM.

Is there any difference between the files in the new ported theme and the herring.apk beside the name? I simply would try it without '-v4' in the folder name.
in the hering.apk are 3 drawabl folders in the hdpi 4.

HTC Sense 3.0 skins for download..?

Anyone know if there are any sense 3.0 skins for the EVO 3D in the works? Perhaps any from the Sensation that can be ported as they are both running the same sense 3.0..? I know the skins for the older sense would work for the thunderbolt and other devices alike like the desire HD.

correct. I have seen them in the past for the Desire HD and it was a simple APK install and added them to the same place that it ads from the HTC hub. Would love to have a transparent dock. Especially since I remember seeing one on a review EVO 3D video but it never shipped on it.

I made one for 3.0 to see if i could or not.... I have some I created for older sense that are on the market. Steelers one and such, but sense 3.0 has got me stuck on the navbar. I found, edited and installed a custom skin on my EVO 3d, but i cannot locate the navbar png to edit it. I think its in the m10 file but i can't seem to decompile it. Basically I've successfully made a skin for sense 3.0, but i can't change navbar png. All others I have been able to.

Are you able to make one with a modded rosie? I would love a skin that is basically stock just with the semi transparent rosie as pictured in the post above. A semi transparent black status bar would be awesome too but... I'd be happy with the rosie and I would be happy to donate to the cause.
Definitely waiting on custom skins. Once they start coming, we'll have so many options to give our 3vo's a more personal touch.
I CAN do transparent status bar, but the rosie... I cannot locate the image in skin files to edit. I believe it is in an m10 file somewhere. It's not where it was in the sense 2.0 roms

Without root, the only way for us to theme is through skins. So I'm doing my best to get some done. But its pointless to me if i can't change the rosie (aka navbar.png). That's like the most important one. And i can't find the damn image in the apks !

I have skins for sense 2.0 in the market. Search "Vasilisin" and u will see my work.... I just wish i could figure out the navbar for this sense 3.0. Grrrrr

There is a way to customize it, but i can't find the image in any if the skins I've decompiled. I need to find it to edit it. If we can find it then we can edit it. So for instance when u apply music lover the dock changes. If i can find that image in musiclover apk i can make it whatever we want and TADA !! lol

Nope. No sense 3.0 skins do. In assets there is a drawable musiclover then shared.m10. It HAS to be in there. Where the heck else would it be. I mean it HAS to be in the music lover apk somewhere. It was in sense 2.0 like ur saying

Edit: and FYI I used mode10 and looked in that m10 file.. no png found. All .dat files.
Are there skins that change the notification bar available now? I use LPP, so I don't care about the rosie. But I hate that green battery icon

We can only change color or transparency of the statusbar. Can't change icons like battery without root.

[MOD] NoClock for Sense - removing clock from status bar (VU, VD)

Following this request by coupetastic-droid, I've made the mod attached.
Thanks to this reference by Paul627g, that helped me to avoid testing phase (I initially made the mod by attempting to shrink the clock area to 0 width, but it didn't work so well - and then found the mentioned reference).
The mods were made for:
Virtuous Unity 1.29 and below
Virtuous Unity 2.35 and above (can most probably be flashed on 2.33 BETA as well)
Virtuous Doubleshot 1.1.5
Sense 3.5 R_type 1.0 (Runnymede)
You can attempt to flash this on other Gingerbread Sense ROMs, but remember to back up the ROM and restore if the mod doesn't work.
oh yeah! this is going to make the status bar much more cleaner. specially when other mods are added. ill post screenies of mine later.
all I need now is the 4g icon that I still can't get to work with the transperant pulldown.

Is thr a way to backup-restore d original clock?
Copy your /system/app/SystemUI.apk and save it somewhere, place it back in /system/app/ if you want the clock back.
Jack, is it possible to get this mod updated for bliss and runnymede?
I'm running rafy's runnymede rom and would like to remove the clock out of this one as well.

Rotating Roise (Homescreen landscape) for Virtuous Doubleshot

First off, Thanks to Google/Android, XDA Developers, Virtuous Doubleshot, other Android posts, which got me to this.
Virtuous Doubleshot released for Glacier & Vision, both support home screen landscape version. Rosie.apk is same for both the versions, but it is hardware keyboard driven, so it doesn't work on ur HTC Glacier/myTouch 4G.
Here is how U do it:
1. Take a backup of ur /system/app/Rosie.apk. Pull the Rosie.apk to ur host PC.
2. Using apktool, decompile** the Rosie.apk. (apktool d -f -t glacier Rosie.apk)
3. Open Rosie/AndroidManifest.xml & replace all "nosensor" to "sensor".
4. Using apktool, recompile the Rosie.apk. (apktool b Rosie Roise.apk)
5. After this, you need to sign the apk & zipalign it. Done, good to go...!!!
6. Mount ur /system read-write.
7. Push back the signed version of Rosie.apk to /system/app.
8. Reboot (probably not necessary. but it will be clean setup i thought).
**-> U might get some errors at step 2, to fix that,
1. pull com.htc.resources.apk & framework-res.apk from the device or ur Virtuous Doubleshot.
2. Add these resources to apktool base.
(apktool if com.htc.resources.apk glacier)
(apktool if framework-res.apk glacier)
3. Now continue with Step 3 & 4. It should work fine.
I was able to do this & it worked pretty well. Just remember, I tried this not to publish but to put it on my phone, so if you end up bricking(highly impossible i think), or losing data(again, i dint face this), I don't take any responsibility.
Moreover, you may not be able to do this on other ROM releases for myTouch 4G. This can only be done on the ROM ports which have landscape support, technically speaking, Rosie.apk must have landscape resources under Rosie/res/. Otherwise it will not work!
Hope its useful, Im posting this bcoz I googled a lot for myTouch 4G/Glacier HomeScreen rotation/landscape support etc & there wasn't even a single post yet.
*** one last thing, my original Rosie.apk was ~21MB, but the recompiled version is 3.2MB. I don't know why, please let me know if you know why. But the 3.2MB recompiled version seem to work fine!!!
** best, after reading developer.android.com, found tat u can rather use "user" instead of "sensor", this will b more user friendly. if u disable auto rotation in settings -> display, home screen will not rotate for "user", but for "sensor", its forced.. ur phone, ur call..
Tried the same procedure for Phone.apk/HTCContacts.apk/HTCDialer.apk, but not much of use. Dialer wont rotate landscape. Contacts also, only if u select a contact, it will rotate for tat contact. I wish Contacts/Dialer rotated landscape, especially if u r connected using headset, u dont need to rotate phone portrait to answer/make calls, right! Help me, if u figure out a way to make those apps landscape.
Would you be willing to post a working version? I'm willing to try it, I just don't have access to those tools.

Can u share ur stock Rosie.apk? Also, share ur com.htc.resources.apk, framework-res.apk, u can find them under /system/framework. Or try this, open ur stock Rosie.apk using winzip/winrar & check if u av "assets/land" or "asset/land" folder, if u don't, u probably cant use this mod.

I did. Was running it for a week. Didn't like the mysense look that much and that it didn't have shortcuts in the lockscreen. So I stuck with vu.

Makes sense. But rest of the UI is just mind blowing. Nobody released a lockscreen UI to allow shortcuts??? VU is awesome too. Thanks to all these Great ppl bringing out new ROMs each day & porting them all to Glacier.

Well then an custom ics rom! Halo needs a rom and adw or go launcher halo themes just dontcut it. ;-) Any volunteers?

Here, I changed the desc.txt file for our resolution...however the images aren't the best quality. Put it in /system/media/
sanim.zip
