S3 heavy loaded apps issue - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I migrate my s2 all about 740 apps into the new galaxy s3,and then I reboot s3 to go into the apps folder using brief mode to view all the apps like the second picture as follows, and I find slip down or up lag vey much,I find when installed about 200 apps will cause this issue, and I go to the settings->sound->auto haptic will be forced closed, the same go to the settings->application manager will be forced closed too,or maybe into the downloaded apps list and slip down or up lag vey much also,go to the settings-> language and input will dely about 3 seconds to get in,and I compare the s2 and s3 with the same 740 apps installed to boot to the desktop speed,s2 is faster than s3 very much, and compare the cwm backup time to backup into internal /mnt/sdcard folder is the same, finally compare to create /data folder into tar with gzip using root explorer ,the create speed of s2 is faster than s3 also,I have try to flash any kernel & ROM to solve the issues on board is useless till now, below is the titanium backup 700 apps download url, anyone interested can download using titanium backup to restore hundred apps to test it....
s2 rooted SiyahKernel v2.6.14 cwm 5.5.0.4/ stock firmware -> gb 2.3.3 zskf4
s3 rooted SiyahKernel s3 v1.0 cwm 5.5.0.4/ stock firmware -> zsaled
both s2 & s3 I use link2sd autolink to app2sd because huge apps installed, but s2 is running smoothly but s3 not,and if cwm backup data.ext4.tar file size great than 2GB will cause restore error...
installed about 740 apps

Actually I often used only 10 apps, about 740 apps,The main reason is I have the collection hobby, the second reson is the smart phone is very Expensive need to the best use of,the third is the google play store is full of tens of thousands of apps,I don't want to waste time to look for the good apps when I need to use,so when others say what apps is good to use then I will download it to install,I create 16 folders on destop to classify each apps belong in order to find to use quickly like the picture as follows, and I will use the autostarts apps to do the startup manager jobs to control apps do not take up too much memory, as time goes by I got used to,everything is going fine when I use galaxy S2,everything is smooth, faster, quickly, until I migrate my S2 to S3 the nightmare as I described first is coming...which master can fix these issues...plz...

actually, you can delete those apps you dont really need thru root explorer (or counterpart) but be careful to do it. Below is the attached guide for the apps' use & functions.

I'll try it....Thanks for your information......but I think this is the bug of settings.apk /odex ,and touchwiz UI,as to the cwm backup Performance is poor, may be the problem of cross partition read & write becoz S3 use the new technology to merge the capacity of /data & /mnt/sdcard...

back to report,I solve two problems, one is the cwm 5.5.0.4 v 1.5 backup time performance is not good,I use the official touch version cwm 5.8.4.3 the backup performance improved Several times than cwm 5.5.0.4,and another is apps folder using brief mode to slip down or up lag vey much,I downgrade the touchwiz UI to the modded TouchWiz 4 for ICS then all the smoothly...
The remaining are two forced closed problems,I think that is settings.apk /odex need to tuning...maybe others release soon ...

[Q] How to properly use Titanum Backup

Ok, I have finally convinced my wife to let me play with her vibrant. I plan on rooting it tonight but before I put the new ROM on her phone she wants me to try to backup her apps. She does not want to lose all of her data for her current apps. Stock 2.2 is always freezing or messing up on her and she is getting really annoyed!
My question is this, in order for me to move everything over (app and data) is there a step by step guide for Titanium Backup so I can do this properly?
(When I did it to my phone, I screwed up and lost everything on my vibrant and I don't want to do this again.)
I know with MIUI it has a backup feature which is awesome and this is more than likely what I will put on her phone.
Please help!
Thanks in advance
It is pretty simple really. In Titanium just hit batch and backup all apps plus data. You can also choose to save the backup on external micro sdcard just in case.
When I did that last time it wouldn't put everything back I guess I don't understand the process

What exactly did it not restore? Hit menu and batch and you can see what apps you are going to back up. Similarly when you are restoring you can see the list and it also gives you option to restore the app + data or just the apps. Just make sure after making a backup that you have backed up every app that you wanted.
It shows you everything in batch menu screen.

Only one other suggestion I have is do not back up system apps. Restoring system apps + data doesn't work nicely with one ROM to another. Just use backup user apps menu.

That's just it, she don't want to lose the data, that's my problem

Data of system apps?

Data from apps downloaded from the market

When you do backups, the data is also included.
When you restore apps later, choose data+app.

If you are going to MIUI, use Titanium Backup sparingly. Do not restore any system (red) apps and do not restore apps offered in the ROM. When I first went to MIUI, I restored my apps one at a time rather than use restore all apps. I didn't have an issue nor did I lose any data. Also, do a nandroid backup and I would backup all the files on the phone to your computer. This way you can move the apps to the system/app folder if things go south. I hope she enjoys MIUI, I do.
How do I move the files to the computer?? What folder is it located in? Do i need to download root explorer for this...I have to completely redo her entire phone and I plan on wiping everything and starting from scratch, I believe somehow someway something was messed up and Miui did not install properly. I want to start her over from scratch like a brand new vibrant off the showroom floor.
Hook your phone up to your PC and pull off the folder called TitaniumBackup and put it on you desktop. Once you "clean" your phone, you can put all that back on your SDcard. Pretty easy really.
titanium backup has a dropbox option now which backs everything up to your dropbox.
and unless she's using google voice, she's going to lost her text messages. similarly with call history. contacts and wifi stuff should be backed up with the google account. so, like the picture posted above, just 'backup all user apps' then after flashing the new rom 'restore all apps with data'.
Backup and restore problem Titanum Backup 8.4.0.2 PRO / Galaxy S9 Plus
Hi
I have used TB 2-3 yrs ago and it wask ok..not many problems.
No I have a problem with all backup jobs I make..all of them not are marked with these smilies but ? ( I guess smilies means OK and no error backup and "?" means some error/missing in backup
And; when I restore a OLD backup With smilies, after the restore the smilies is away/missing and this "?" have apper instead of the smilies, so it seems that TB destroy the old OK backup after it is restored.
Can this error be a fail in options? Something I have to set in options for get it to work?
Hope for answerd ( and hope this quest is posted in correct group. If not, pls tell me
Regards
Rolf

First and foremost WRONG SECTION.... U think asking question in Original android development section is rite??
BTW stock apps means system apps only... The apps u install from outside is third party apps... U asking abt the apps u installed before or installed after flashing?? Before means obvi it ll be in SD card.. After means it be ll in ROM...

I'm talking about this
that does nothing.
that screen only comes up, when you flashed a stock ICS 4.0.3 rom without wipe. it does not actually install apps, it just scans app folders like /system/app/ and /data/app for already installed apps to integrate in the launcher. maybe it also checks compatibility with android 4. but at the moment that screen shows up, all apps are already installed.
it is just a marketing thingy to pretend to perform app migration after upgrading the OS. if you upgrade through kies and had auto-restart checked and were unable to get to recovery to perform a factory reset prior to the first boot, you will see that screen appear after the first boot "installing" all your apps. then if you reboot into recovery, factory reset the phone and reboot, you will see it only "installs" the few stock apps and all user apps are gone.
this migration, together with not wiping your phone when flashing, will make it slow and unstable over time. it is the same thing with a windows pc. of course one could upgrade the OS, say, from vista to 7, and installed programs and settings might get migrated but in the end, everybody who knows, what they are doing, will still format c: prior to installing a new OS and install the programs afterwards for them to run perfectly.
and all stock apps, that survive a factory reset, wipe are in fact system apps in /system/app
they can still disappear when flashing a new rom.
your best bet is to backup all your apps with titanium backup pro and after flashing a rom or performing a factory reset, you select batch and restore all user apps + data. that way, you can simply install 100+ apps with a few clicks, and their respective settings (scores, customizations...) will be restored as well, which would not be the case with the way you suggested.
so, not only is your way not practical, it is also next to impossible. and it would make no sense, crumming all user apps in the 512MB system partition and leaving the 2GB data partition empty.

thanks for replying
sure I'll not put my all apps in the system/app. I made a rom and put my apps in the data/app and after flashing I got all of my applications installed and working too except some of google apps like google+ and drive. I think that screen shows us it's installing the apps not just scanning, because I searched the rom for these apps I didn't find it, so I think it's packed somewhere and I hope to find it

How many times have you gone through this: download a new ROM, backup all your apps with Titanium, reboot into recovery, perform a nandroid backup, wipe, install new ROM, boot and set up, then restore all your apps and data. Yeah, it's crazy. And it takes forever.
What if you could cut that time by a solid 20 or 30 minutes? Thanks to a new feature just incorporated in Titanium Backup, you can. With the newest update to TB Pro, you can now create a flashable zip of all your apps and data. That means that you can flash all your goodies right after a new ROM and fire up a system that's ready to go right out of the box.
You can try here
And for Pro here
uhh..... welcome to android?
EDIT: ahh... nvm... just realised that u pointed out the update.zip creation of backups well yea that is a nice feature
Who does not know for this app its not made for Android.

Hey i have trouble viewing the update.zip in CWM ( i change the name to titanium app+data;would that matter? i already have a folder named update.zip that's why) i can view if in my File Manager by CM. But no matter where i put the file it does not show up in CWM. And yes i did run the program first. And have tried installing and uninstalling it 3 times as well as a fresh slate on phone.
I am running unofficial CM10 11/2/2012 build for samsung infuse

My Phone Storage is supposed to be 16 GB but it reads 8 GB

My Phone Storage is supposed to be 16 GB & it is supposed to be free because I just got it a few days ago yet it's full & you can't even know where the data is distributed
there is more than 8 GB that's missing in air
I tried most of the known apps to clean or to remove cache & nothing happened
there is an app that I installed once & didn't start up saying that the phone is rooted
so I downloaded root checker & it said that it'sn't rooted properly
then I used Storage Space app & it said that the phone is only 8 GB
& all the apps say that the phone is only 1 GB Ram
What do I do is the phone rooted or not or is it rooted non properly or is it damaged in storage or what
It's Huawei G9 LTE it's read in many apps U2 or Honor something
here is pics of every information about it

It looks like you got a fake clone phone, not an authentic Huawei G9 LTE. Your firmware / build number is not authentic Huawei firmware.

Flashing a ROM when your phone is rooted is generally a bad idea.
Wish I could help you but clone phones are a huge pain in the butt to work with. I've seen them with corrupted recovery etc, no way to format the phone, limited fastboot commands, etc....
You probably won't get a lot of help on XDA for a clone phone but you can try the "Chinese Models & Cloned Phones" forum over at GSMHosting, it seems active with lots of topics / information
Its a forum specifically for clone phone software etc.

Breathe new life to your lg g6 with heavy debloating and a bit of tweaking (No ROOT)

Hi LG G6 owners!
this post is aimed at people that feel that their phone could be better , so lets begin
**DISCLAIMER I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES CAUSED ON YOUR PHONE IF YOU DO SOME OF THE STEPS WRONG**
All of this were done on the H870 latin american model (so no root) but they should work on any phone
*EXCEPT THE SPECIFIC ROM LISTED BELOW , PLEASE SEARCH FOR ONE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC MODEL*
*I would aslo like to thank every single author of the links I have attached , they are the real MVPs .
*If you dont want to flash your phone skip over to step 2
*If you dont want to debloat your phone skip over to step 3
1-)Update your phone to Oreo :
For some people the ore update was bad , but that was mostly due to being an ota (over the air , or dircetly applied to the phone) , so we are going to install it via pc
if you have the latin american LG G6 H870 this is the firmware you want
https://lg-firmwares.com/es/downloads-file/19423/H87020i_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0322.kdz
download the rom , please BACKUP all of your phone data , it will be erased at the end of this process
- IF you dont know how to install the rom : no big deal follow this tutorial (not mine) this works no matter wich version of the g6 you have given that you have the propper firmware for your phone of course
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ_8xuuftZw
After thats done , factory reset the phone
2-) The Debloat . Install the adb drivers an system wide adb (found here) :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
then go page and find the apps you want to get rid of and follow the instructions
https://gist.github.com/v-dimitrov/048e1e6c6055573d295f9c007ad49c8a
if you dont know the name of the packages or dont now wich ones are safe to uninstall , then go to this link (is basically the same but with more detailed name for the packages but less detailed instructions)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g6/how-to/debloat-rest-t3665414
Install the google equivalent versions of the app you have uninstalled
(Optional 2-b) Get rid of the stock launcher and install nova launcher
3-) Go to settings >
about phone>software>build number and and tap it a few times , then go back to system >developer options and go to down untill you see gpu render and change it to OpenGL(skia) then check (turn on) the deactivate hw overlay option .
This will improve performance and in my case , increased battery life .
Please do note that you will have to manually tick the OpenGl option everytime you reboot or shutdown your phone .
(OPTIONAL) 3b-)Get the LG pixel dark theme from the playstore (or some other places) , and also install the google pixel icon pack , free on the playstore
4-)Download and install the fantastic Gcam app , your photos will look better when taken with this camera
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ap...stark27-google-camera-mod-wide-angle-t3747263
5-)Enjoy!
This post was made out of MY personal experience with the G6 , and after almost two years with it about a month ago I decided to what I have listed above and it is just a better experience , better battery life better performance in games andit doesnt heat up as much .
Please do note that none of the links posted above are my own , credits to their respective authors
Hope this works for you as well as it did for me . Cheers
-Edit1: Fixed some typos and format.
Hi guys , I will try to upload screenshots today showing the final result. It wont be possible to upload a before after due to the fact that I dont want to go back to nougat lol , but I was getting around 2:30 - 3:10 SOT with 9-11 hours total , now the results are much much better , will upload at the end of the day.
