Duplicate message issue... - Motorola Droid RAZR

Is any one else having this annoying message issue??
What happens:
1. I receive a message from a friend at lets say 5 in the evening saying "hi".
2. After a couple of hours, I receive the SAME message again..."hi".
3. It goes on till I delete the thread..and sometimes even after that it continues...
One time, over the night, I got 8 messages...all the same...
I am using a ICS ROM by DroidTh3ory, AXIOM AOSP I think its exactly called...It is a CDMA ROM patched to run on GSM networks...
Any help will be great...
BTW, I did a Dalvik cache and cache clean...doesn't really help...

Mumbai, Vodafone user, RAZR Stock, same issue. Maybe it's an issue with Vodafone ?

Its not just Vodafone, I have a MAXX on Verizon and it does the same thing. Usually mine aren't so far apart, usually the first message will come in and then within a minute it'll come again. I have had duplicate messages hours apart but it's normally within a minute or so.

I also suffer this problem, use the ICS en.EU, I live in Brazil, I think my problem was because I use a ROM from another area. Enough to repeat many times sms and some that I send do not reach the destination. Does anyone have a solution for this?

I am using a stock ICS CDMA ROM on a GSM device with the patch..I am guessing it is because of that... :|

My ROM is GSM, and is also my Razr. Have looked at several places but have not found any solution, it is very bad for the day to day.

I used this gb rom, actually she was very good ...
But upgraded to ics, I'm happy with it, but I still have the problem of sms. now awaiting the fastboot. hehe ..
Thanks Pedro, you always trying to help!

nine times outta ten duplicate messages are a network error and not the device.

[Q] I can't go back to GB (I have ICS T-Mobile)

My problem is that, i cant go back to GB. My Device is a Motorola RAZR XT910 with Stock firmware 2.3.6 Telcel (LATAM)

ID Error on motorola Boot, the only way i can run my device is with "Bptools" on bootloader. so i knew that thing, but im tired of this and i want back my GB.
i try to return the file mmcblk1p18 in dev/block/mmcblkp18 but inst working. somebody can help me with dat? and sorry for my poor inglish, im Latam...
in my opinion return to GB from ICS its very difficult. because its different kernel and boot loader - I think so

Then restore your own p18 backup and flash gb again.
Remember you have to be root to restore your own p18 bkp

Yeah, you're right because german leak doesn't need to replace the p18 partition. So, OP, you are able to downgrade anyway, you're luck!

Maybe you need the p18 trick to do this. But just try without it, you can go back to the german leak anytime you want. But root will be gone.
You can flash the chinese leak, just use RSD to flash ONLY System, then reboot into recovery, let it wokr, then reboot using BP tools, device will boot into chinese leak. But you won't have root and so you cannot delete the chinese stuff and bloat... So, the best hing would be to stay on the german leak 'till we'll have found a way to change it. And by the way, the german leak runs better for me (tested both of them).

PS After flashing my razr to ics, I found that when using the built-in message app to send SMS to my friends (in chinese content), my friends told me they cannot see the message. To be precise, what my friends received were the empty boxes.
I can only send these messages through the 3rd party app.Anyone know how to solve this problem? Thx man
Why does no one read? Its like its a lost art. The op explains everything in the main ics leak thread. Yet there are people everywhere asking what can't or is very difficult to do. Sigh

Maybe its your carrier that either does not support 3g, or u simply cant get 3g comnection from where u live in cause the company u use doesnt push 3g all the way to your area(happens if you live in a place where not many other people live, or far away from town centres and stuff).
Remember to check the options in the more info(right below bluwtooth and data usage in stock rom) insinde the phone settings

i upgraded with odin , i try format system, data & cache then flash rom ,, same issue.
3g is not Important in all country except syria, u need 3g when electricity turn off, and to use it in any palace not in closed place like WI-Fi
R: [Q] 3G doesn't work in jellyBean
Damn...i heard u guys in syria are having a really bad time, this stuff must be frustrating.
Well there may be a couple of options:
1)in syria there have been some problems and 3g is not getting really well to ur area anymore
2)your rom is unstable or just stupid(in this case i suggest flashing a good custom rom)
3)youflashing processes may have lead you to flash a rom meant for a nother regional residence(either the stock one u flashed through odin, or something else u flashed), in this case the "modem" of your phone(it's the kinda way your phone gets cellular data...kinda like an antenna kernel but i have no idea what it is just that it controls your antenna receiving/sending connections) might be wrong. Different modems exist according to where u live (or what operator u use i think as well). Try going on the web and looking for a modem that works in syria and try putting it back onto ur phone(i dont know how, look for it on google).

R: [Q] 3G doesn't work in jellyBean
Good kernel: http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
If u flash i through odin get the tar version, if not and u flash it thru recovery get cwm package. Be sure to get the one for galaxy s3. About battery usage...im not sure...because i have a 2800 battery i got off ebay and it makes my phone last a whole lot longer, if u have battery problems in syria (like the power being shut down for a couple of hourse at times) u should get yourself a battery like this as well, it doesnt cost much.
Plus getting a custom rom is best, i wouldnt cound on kernel fixing your problems too much, give rootbox or jellybam a try. Or cyanogen if u wish but i dont thinks its very stable yet.
Also it is smart to get the latest version of your clockworkmod recovery, to do so download off the store the official app called "rom manager", u can use ut to update the recovery.

Yeah i had a feeling you werent but i like to give out detailed explanations of my reasonments just in case...the habit i guess of helping out many of my noob friends with their phones...
and the english is not a problem im italian myself, i dont speak perfect english either
But abkut the rom: if ure sure cyanogen works with 3g try it...
I dont like it either so even though im still on stock ive been doing some research and ive come to the conclusion the best choiche for me would probably be jellybam. A good rom is foxhound(but it is heavy on features) or rootbox(not sure if fully developed yet...).
give jellybam a try just in case.
I dont have many more ideas to help you with your problem as you seem pretty self-conscient of how to flash stuff...i hope someone else can help you, but if i were u i would try flashing some roms and messing around a bit with the connectikn method for data inside rom preferences. U could also try looking in some syrian forums if this is a known problem with galaxy s3 in syria.....

the problem is: the phone is not to me, and his owner doesn't like any rom except stock rom
R: [Q] 3G doesn't work in jellyBean
Aaahhhhh the phone isnt yours...damn that makes it even more difficult to fix the problem, even more so if you know it used to work before, but when u changed rom (or put th same one but with odin) it stopped working. That practically means u HAVE to change rom to make it work.....well try flashing stock rom for rooted devices from somewhere else but its gonna be difficult sorting this out if the owner wont cooperate.
I seriously doubt kernel will make some sort of magical changes...

if I use android 4.1.2 like Rage Rom v3.2 *STABLE*, 3G work perfect. however, with 4.2.2, it cant connect
Then please use 4.1.2 instead of 4.2 because official 4.2 has not yet been released and the developers might developed it from other sources like taken from galaxy s4 or nexus so kindly wait till the official released and use 4.1.2

Look under the baseband section. Those are the baseband files from ICS and will work with JB as well(only the baseband)
You should flash the radio.img file using BMM.

I have a XT912 and have lost my 3G connection before, It's happened once while on stock and I called the carrier for help. The second time I was on CM10.1 and the setting was the same for the fix. Hopefully it's as simple for you as it was for me:
Settings > Data Usage > Mobile Data > ON
and
Settings > Mobile Networks >Data Enabled > Checked box
Having either of the above two settings will disable your data connection and knock you off 3G. I hope the fix is as easy for you as it was for me!

Camera error

Okay, so basically this problem first occurred a few days ago. Whenever I open my camera app it says error. I have this on several ROMs. Right now I'm on Epsilon Project and I got the problem once again.
Maybe the solution is to go back to stock and then flash ROMs again.. I'd be very pleased if someone can help me out.

[Q] Upgrading my XT910

Well, I have watched the noob video at registration but still I hope you will help me... :cyclops:
So I have Israeli XT910 on its final version which is 2.3.6. (is it GB?)
Anyway it sucks and i wish to upgrade it to ICS or JB or even put a customized ROM on it...
Is it possible? Will I need to root my device? Will my apps and data be lost? And how can I do it?
Thanks in advance.

You have a lot of tutorials about upgrading to official (moto stuff) roms or about installing custom roms, when i bought my razr it came with gingerbread, one of the first things i do was upgrading to ICS and then i start using custom roms with safestrap, but that dependens on what you want/need from the phone. Also you have to check if your phone is CDMA or GSM, before installing a rom or at least ask if that have a patch.
here you have a post with a los of links and a tons of info. Hope that helps

Just go for the European version ROM.
I used them in my wife's RAZR. We are also from Israel.
Follow the steps for the new European retail roms and every will be great.

I will try that but now I have another problem... I accidentally flashed ICS without having enough space on my phone and now it is stuck on boot logo and then turns off, and I need to know if there is a way of formatting it without turning it on?
Sorry for bad English too...
The European retail jellybean formats your whole phone, so you can flash it and have your phone back on normal.
