Any tips on getting Google Music lock screen controls to work Meanrom ICS v2.3?
use sense 4. Has the ability to use lock screen controls with third party programs. Not the answer your looking for sorry.
You can follow me on Twitter - @NotSo1nter3stin
The issue is, you're trying to use Google's music app (let's say "AOSP"), and the lockscreen controls for it on a sense rom. The sense lockscreen has the controls for the provided HTC Music app.
You could try this: Use File Manager and go to /system/apps and delete HtcLockscreen.apk
Reboot.
Then try to use Google Music lockscreen controls.

Use leedeoid tweaks to enable aosp lockscreen

I only use AOSP lock screen and I can confirm it does not work on MeanROM. Or any other ROM I've tried for that matter.

My experience when ics first leaked, doing this means you have to unlock the phone to answer incoming calls. If using face unlock, you'll miss almost every call.

Here is the stock fascinate music player.
Deodexed from my stock fascinate with xUltimate
I'm not much of a fan for the aosp music player mostly because I enjoy the lockscreen control of the stock player.
Here is a zip you can flash with CWM.
A little bit off-topic, but what does deodexed mean? I've looked around, but haven't been able to find an answer.
Can this just be flashed via cwm? I am currently running JTs clean rom but I have missed having they music controls on the lock screen?

If you look in your stock system/app folder you will see a .apk and .odex files per system app. Deodexed files have no odex file hence de-odex. I believe the .odex is like a cached file for the program. Deodexing does speed things up but primarily they are used for customization. I am sure there is more to it than just that but that's all I know... I would say google it for more info.

Thank you, worked perfect.
Why is this a new thread in the dev section?
(1) We already have a full deodexed system dump.
(2) This is just one app, not development.
Meh someone got some use out of it....

This made getting the stock music player back much easier. Don't bash just because you didn't find it useful.

Lock screen controls? Why have I never seen these? I always have to unlock my phone to mess with the music player. Did I miss something?

While playing music from the stock player there is a cd at the top of the lock screen you slide it down for the controls.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
This sucks. Apparently it only works if you don't have a pattern to unlock. That's why I never noticed it, I use a pattern.
If I install this will it replace the one that is in JT's stock rom?
jv
Yes you did. The stock music player let's you control your music through the task bar. While playing music check out the puzzle screen and at the top there will be a cd, pull it down , and whala!

Here is how I do music controls on the lock screen, with greatly superior programs...
Get TuneWiki
Get Widget Locke
In Widget Locker, enable the TuneWiki widget.
Bam. Now you have a much better music player than the AOSP music player OR stock (handles shoutcast, does lyrics, etc.) - but you also have a much better lock screen that's extremely customizable. Win x2.

Alright so I'm trying your suggestion with widget locker, and when locked my screen keeps cycling on and off. Have you not had this issue? It happens with no settings changes. I'm using launcher pro on jt's clean .4

okay in almost every rom for the fascinate people always take out the stock music app and use the modded one which i can't figure out why you like it okay in the stock TW you can music controls in the notification abr along with controls on the lockscreen now i would be willing to use another music app or even different launcher if i was able to get the same controls in a music app and the app would have to be integrated not like winamp where it takes over the lockscreen just an app extremely close to the stock one that everyone always takes off their rom
can haz punctuation?
I'm with you on the pros of the TW music app.
Just to let you know that everything still works with other launchers (at least with Launcher Pro). I am currently running adrynalyne's Super Clean 2.8 with Launcher Pro. I installed the TW music player on it instead of the AOSP one and I still have the stock lockscreen and notification controls.
I know about the other launchers I was just wondering about other good music apps

So what can I do to replace my lockscreen? I'd like something like WhisperCore which forces me to wipe away my fingerprints in order to unlock so that others can't unlock my phone by looking at the smudges. Is there anything like that out there?
I'll just leave this humongous thread here:

Wow that is a hell of a lot of lockscreens but I'm looking for a specific feature which they all seem to lack. With whispercore (for the nexus) you have a feature called sumdge-resistant screen unlock patterns. So you draw out your pattern as normal but instead of simply unlocking you are brought to another screen with stars all over the screen. You wipe your finger up and down the screen to highlight the stars. Once they are all highlighted your phone unlocks and you've successfully wiped away your the smudges from your pattern. Honestly if I'm not forced to do this then I'll probably forget.

Anyone know of a lockscreen or widget that will allow me to control my Google Music app without having to slide unlock the phone. I see that the photon allows you to do this with the stock music app but not with the Google music app. Much thanks.

Agile lockscreen lets you select the music app to use as lockscreen control
I'm a fan of no lock.

Widget locker does that, and more its what I choice to use
has anyone explained yet how to replace the lock screen via root to the aosp rotary one? I am interested in completely replacing the blur lockscreen
Using Widgetlocker and the darn stock Motorola lockscreen keeps popping up from time to time. Anyone know how to disable it or freeze it in TB to keep it from coming up? Very annoying to have 2 lock screens to mess with.
Is there any fix to this on the Rezound, except for using Widgetlocker?
It gets annoying to have to swipe to unlock and something put the unlock pattern just to see who is calling. Currently on Nils 3.6 Sense and want to use the music controls on AOSP lockscreen and also I dislike Rosie.
Not that I know of...
Use llama in the play store. Someone posted the instructions in the slimrom thread

You can use Go Launcher + Go Locker, there is an ICS locker. You actually don't even need to USE Go Launcher, it just has to be installed.
I think someone said holo locker fixes that

I'm using MeanROM, but I prefer an AOSP style lockscreen. Can anybody tell how to get, or make, one without using a non-Sense launcher?
Widget locker out of the market
Go locker/launcher is worth looking into as well
Use your root file browser and go to system, app, rename HTC lockscreen (add .bak to it so you can go back to it if you want later) reboot, and you'll have stock ics lockscreen. You just won't have any of the sense features, like seeing who's calling, or answering without unlocking first. Give it a shot, you can always restore sense lockscreen if it's not what you wanted.

No problem. I found it by mistake, I downloaded holo locker and was trying to get rid of sense. But for some reason holo locker wouldn't stay and the stock ICS lock screen kept coming up Instead. So I just got rid of holo locker.

Delete that and all the idlescreen files if you wanna be thorough. You can always pull them later from the rom zip and reinstall them.
