I'm using MeanROM, but I prefer an AOSP style lockscreen. Can anybody tell how to get, or make, one without using a non-Sense launcher?
Widget locker out of the market
Go locker/launcher is worth looking into as well
Use your root file browser and go to system, app, rename HTC lockscreen (add .bak to it so you can go back to it if you want later) reboot, and you'll have stock ics lockscreen. You just won't have any of the sense features, like seeing who's calling, or answering without unlocking first. Give it a shot, you can always restore sense lockscreen if it's not what you wanted.

That worked. Thanks!
No problem. I found it by mistake, I downloaded holo locker and was trying to get rid of sense. But for some reason holo locker wouldn't stay and the stock ICS lock screen kept coming up Instead. So I just got rid of holo locker.

Delete that and all the idlescreen files if you wanna be thorough. You can always pull them later from the rom zip and reinstall them.

Also download "no lock" to disable the stock lockscreen
What's 'no lock'? I thought just using a lockscreen app would get rid of that one and put another one I want?
Yes, it puts it "on top", but doesn't completely replace out like out works with home launchers, abd eventually, the stock lockscreen pops up on top of your custom one.
No Lock disables the default keyguard so you can use a custom one without issues.

Be careful, once you use no lock the genius button can wake the phone and place calls.

If you are rooted, you can remove the HTC lockscreen app from /system. The default froyo lockscreen is just being overridden by that app.

Rock on! I always hated that lock screen! *presses easy button*
I would also add that a reboot is necessary.

I used root explorer to move the htclockscreen.apk and the odex files to my sdcard, got the standard froyo lockscreen. Moving it back didn't put the htc lockscreen back though, I still have the standard froyo. Now that I got rid of it, I kind of want it back, lol.
Actually, this may be a problem, I may need to exchange my Mytouch. Even a factory reset doesn't do it. I've wiped and restored it, still have the stock froyo lockscreen. The files are back in system/app, but I can't get it back somehow.
Try re installing the apk in the root folder, the n reboot, I haven't tried , just a theory

Tried that, nothing. I may just need to find a stock rom to flash now.
Did you reboot it after install
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
It wouldn't let me install, "application not installed". And yes, I had it mounted r/w. It's in there, it just isn't seeing it.
I tried, same here, I even tried fix permission in rom manager with no luck ...

Hmm, I think I should bring this up as a separate thread, this could be an issue if anyone needs to go back completely to stock.
Quick question though, do you ever see the left slide bar missing every now and then? Sometimes when I turn the screen on the left slide bar is invisible, but it shows when I touch it.
4 shared.com search for "go to .apk"

Yeah the left side did that to me too, luckily I did a nandroid right after root, took me back to stock. If you didn't, do that next time!

once this is doe is there anyway to get a picture on the background of the froyo background
I uninstalled the htc lockscreen on mine but I did a nandroid backup beforehand, and after doing that I just did a restore and it came back to working fine, don't know if that helps anyone out any
I'm using widget locker with honeycomb theme and was wondering if there is a way to replace the stock lock screen with this one due to a few force closes making it revert to stock lock screen.

I use WidgetLocket too with the ICS theme, and haven't had it force close once. It has worked perfectly for me so far. Maybe trying reinstalling it? Are you rooted or running mostly stock?
I'n rooted running adw ex with the snowball mod. I was wantint to replae stock lockscreen and not just have an overlay. Just seems like it would run better.

I find that with both widget locker and go launcher, that even if I have links to the apps copied to the system/app folder, my clock widget (fancy widget) loses the skin definition and needs to be reapplied.
Otherwise, things work fine.
Do you think putting a link to fancy widget in system/app would fix the clock skin issue?
Don't know if this would work but on my phone I use NoLock to disable the stock and Go Locker as a replacement. Might be worth a try.
There is a setting in the widget locker settings to disable stock lock screen. Can't remember where it is right now in the settings tho.
As far as the widgets disappearing after reboot, I have the same issue and haven't found a way to fix it yet.

If you want them not to lose configuration you have to move them from datt/app
to system/app and there you should give them full permissions. That has solved my problem with widgets in Go launcher
So after two whole days of owning this phone I'm on ics, but I want the ics icons I'm on nova launcher to rid myself of sense so can it be done without using a different launcher

Yes sir... Desktop Visualizer
It allows you to put icons on your Sd card and set them for any application you want... i believe there is also icon packs you can use for it
I got the ics theme for adw and long pressed and edited and that worked also.

You can always go the longer route, if you want to change the icon throughout the entire rom. I use root explorer, extract the apk, replace the icon png, zip file, rename as apk, move back into system/apps. Reboot. I only do this on Sense so that I can still have the notification bubbles on stock apps (msgs, phone, task, etc)
I am using htc sense. But if I choose other locker, I will get double locker (first lock by htc locker then my locker)especially after boot.
why is that? thanks.
Uou should probably turn off the sense lockscreen in settings/security/lockscreen and let the app put up the other? Or is it supposed to disable it automatically?
There may be a setting in the app to check to disable the stock lockscreen or you can use an app like titanium backup to freeze the stock lockscreen.
I'm assuming you have root, and if you do make sure you have a nandroid backup, a lockscreen is something that can really break some crap with or without your help.

thanks. I disabled the lock in the setting also froze the htc locker but then I got ics stock locker. damn it.

hey guys i just installed the forth bar: infusion rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1940988
i already love it its my first time with an aosp based rom and trying to amend a rom as well.
I was wondering if there is anyway to put the stock amaze clock app in there instead of the included aosp one?
i miss having all of those features in one place
The stock Amaze Clock is Sense based. So you'll need Rosie and the clock file. You cab probably just go with a themed Fancy Widget or Beautiful Widget.
I'm looking for the actual app. I should have gotten the screen shots from the beginning sorry for the confusion... also how can i find the file?
You can't install a Sense based app on a non Sense ROM. Sense apps require sense framework to run correctly. It's a lot more complicated than installing an app. Use a Sense based ROM if you want that clock app that badly.
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Thank you, I was afraid you might say that... Does anyone know of a good clock app that might have some of these features rolled into one?
Sent from my HTC Amaze 4G using xda app-developers app
look up a few posts, Fancy Widgets Beauiful widgets etc UCCW
Fourth bar is sense based so you can probably just extract the clock apps and push them to your phone. None of the Widgets will work without Rosie.

so after i downloaded the apk you posted it worked great but i reflashed fourth bar to try some of the different settings out and now i cant get it to install again... any ideas?
are you pushing it to system/app? I've gotten some sense based apps to work on fourth bar, so it should work. I've done some other things to install apps directly into the rom too, open the rom zip with winzip, or whatever program you use to extract/compress on your computer, and add your apk directly into the system/app folder, then when you install your rom you're ready to go right away. That's very useful when you're flashing back and forth alot, saves a couple steps. Or you could also install a rom, backup whatever app you want with titanium, install the rom you want, then restore the apps you extracted.
I tried just pushing moving the apk to the system app file which worked the first time but I'm gonna give it a try on my computer and see if that works
