WIFI Link Speed - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

Hi All,
Prior to me posting i have searched in regards to this issue but have not come across any threads that discuss it that much.
I generally use my prime to stream videos over the local network and I am usually 15ft away from my router. When I first connect to my network the Link Speed is usually at 72 - 39Mbps which is great for the first 20-30 minutes of streaming, once I stop and check again my Link Speed drops and stays around the 1 - 2Mbps. It takes a while to pick up or I usually turn WIFI off then back on again. I do stream from other devices without issues in Link Speed drop and i know my network is correctly set up. Signal is still "ok" 3 bars, -65 - -55dBm.
Does this happen to anyone else? I'm tempted to try a factory reset seeing as i haven't done one since I purchased sometime in January or is this issue worth RMA'ing?
Serial: BC0K...

I don't think that's a problem. 1 mbps is pretty good for me, and, unless you're streaming crazy 1080p or 4k vidya, I don't think that should be a problem. And, most likely, its your router's compatibility with the prime that's causing it. BTW, my computer barely gets 10 mbps, feelsbadman.

Fair enough, cheers for the reply!

[SOLVED] Random Wi-Fi Drop

May have found a fix for the random WiFi drops that some or more most people are having with the touchpad
1: Install Preware (search is your friend to install on how to )
2: Open Preware and in the search look for Govnah and install that
3: Open Govnah and go into Profile - Advance Settings - TCP Congestion
4: After going into all them tabs change the value from “Westwood” to “Reno”
Well from what I see I haven't had a drop in about 3 hours from jumping back and forth from one website to video sites and streaming movies and facebook. Well from what I have seen no drops hope this works for people and fix this problem that I also have been looking for
I sometimes suffer from the occasional WiFi drop too. It doesn't always happen so its hard to pinpoint the cause but it does occur. I went into the settings as you mentioned but my choices are "cubic" and "reno". I switched it to "reno" to see if what you suggested works..
Will update soon, testing....
thanks,

I have seen bad router placement and inadequate antenna coverage cause it too.
There are beaucoup free plans for home-built boosted antennas if you search it, but my old trusty D-link 624 still gives me a usable connection all around the house and Motorhome.
well this is day 2 of playing my my touchpad and my have seen one drop but that could of been because I was spittle out of range.... Well I don't think its my router because I go into setting of the router off my touch pad to see my signal I'm getting and the lowest I have seen is 90%..... Well one thing is that I have seen before changing the setting is that I did get the drops now I don't know if I'm getting them at all but maybe one time but I could of been out of range with that

I just did the change to Reno yesterday, also having random no internet connection problem as well on F15C Eagle. So far on overnight charge and first use this morning, I did not have to do a device reset to connect to the net like every morning.
Will see how it goes during the day out from sleep mode and into heavy browsing for a few hours.
the truth of my thoughts is that I don't think it has nothing to do with the WiFi router at all things are not adding up to it but I really thing the software end on because I was going to look up the different of the why so many types but as I think I see it the Westwood setting is to heavy of a data transfer that the touchpad can handle so that's why I set it to a different one maybe I'm right maybe I'm wrong but I don't see any problems as of yet on my touchpad when it comes to getting online or doing anything with it yet because of changing it to “reno”

another way is to put it into airplane mode and back off so you don't have to restart it all the time
No this is a problem with the TP. I did a few different test with different devices using different routers at different location's. The TP is the only one that would loose connection. Even with manually setting it up it can go in and out... I am using warthog. Mine does it about 3 times a day...
So you tried what I stated up top???? If so it was still dropping WiFi 3 times a day
Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA App
My TP has the same problem. I know it is not my router placement, as all my other wifi devices work everywhere in my home with 75% or higher signal strength. Only the TP stops working.
What is annoying is that it shows it is still connected to the wireless, but nothing works at all.
I'll give the Govnah setting change a try...
No i have not tried what you said above. I will and report back.
well from what I see I still haven't gotten a drop yet and that's all around my house but I really don't think its the router because yea as everyone has said it says that it is still connected but no internet connection but go into your settings of your router from your touchpad and log into it and look at connected devices and see the signal that it is getting and you will see it is getting good signal but it well maybe.... Everybody house is different from another person you know but as before I don't think it is the router at all it is far to wide that everyone is thinking the same thing with different routers and all but also everyone is also saying that everything else is working also so that is why I'm come to believe it is the touchpad
Last night I tried to watch some xfactor videos in youtube and I got frustrated. I only managed to watch 1 or 1.5 videos before I loose the connection. The wifi indicator is still saying connected but the video just stop with small circular cursor running.
Today I tried to remove Muffle-System-Logging (it was on .23 version) and now I've been watching about 5 videos without any interruption.
BTW I'm using Warthog kernel, OC to 1.7Ghz.

Oh yes, last night when I got that problem I tried to change the TCP Congestion option to reno but the problem was still there.
Another item of note.
On my router it shows all connected wireless clients. There are currently 2 phones, a laptop, and the touchpad connected.
The phones and laptop show mode 11g rate 54
The touchpad shows mode 11ng rate 19
well it looks like you maybe a little bit out of range from your router because of the connection speed but really still don't see that its the router you know well I don't know if I have been dropping or not at this point really haven't been on it all that much because of work and having kids but we all need to get together and try and fix this problem that most people are having with this but where to start is my question on it??? But one thing I know for sure it has to be the touchpad because everything else in everyone's house is working fine
Looks like the change helped a little, worked nearly all day without drop outs until late last night just browsing xda. I am not experiencing wake from sleep problem yet with Reno.

weak wifi

Does anyone else have a issue with their S Tab, only getting weak wifi signal, even from a wireless router your are right next to?
I have a wireless router in my living room, and everything else i have to include my other tab and laptop get full bars for the wifi, but my S Tab only gets about 3 to 4 out of 5.
Just curious as to if this is just a flaw in the Tab, or maybe mine has an issue i should have looked at for repair, or replacement.
i get a full signal on the home wifi and using my mobile as a hotspot, not sure why yours is getting a weak signal.
Im not sure either, it still works fine, seems to run the browser, downloads/updates fast still, maybe the little icon at the bottom by the clock is inaccurate.
I feel it is better than on my SE XPlay
Sent from my Sony Tablet S using Tapatalk
I have had a bit of the same issue. When I first got it it seemed that it picked up my home Wifi last above all the others around me.
Once it did finally find it it only showed a weak singal, after I put in my password it jumped up to full strength. this has happened to every location I went to. Once i do connect it works great (on a side note people have complained that my wireless internet sucks at my home when they tried to connect with there laptops)
I seem to have a similar issue. Works fairly fast but looks like I only have 2 bars.
Yeah I have noticed this and using wifi manager the signal goes up and down but seems fine on my arc....

I don't have an issue with the signal but it takes forever for it to connect to my AP. It's taking at least 30 seconds to make a connection.

sony tablet s wifi issue
Hi all,
after weeks of study here is what i found out:
- wifi issue is not a hard ware issue, it is simply the software.
- wifi issue occurs only with certain routers with both N & G channels , Especially Netgear and BT.
- Wifi manger app makes it better and less annoying, issue still there but less occurring. try different channels.
- Tablet S for some reason does not like the channels used by certain Routers.
- do not bother with wifi lock app, does not do the job and steals ur battery.
- after weeks of trial, tablet is just great, but needs attention from Google.
SO
My friend's wife works for Google, when asked for the favor of the insider , engineers in Google said, first stage is to roll out Xperia release 5 to try and fix problem, then both S and Xperia will get Jelly bean with a definite fix. Testing as we speak.
all I can do now is get a good router and hope for the best.
I too have a problem with my new-ish Sony Tablet S (which I wish I never went to 4.0.3 r5). Sitting anywhere in my house I get 4 or 5 bars - I have a great DLINK Router and a repeater in the other end of the house. Both on the same channel family and get full blast wireless all over the house.
My problem is (the router is locked into N only mode as everything in the house is N) - even with 5 bars, the NETWORK information from the tablet's info panel says I am at 65MB/s. Why so slow? My older than the tablet laptop with built in WiFi get 150MB/s, and the router is capable of 300MB/s (dual channel router).
Can anyone explain this?
Also if anyone can direct me to the steps and files to get my tablet back to the 4.0.3 (pre R5 version), I would be ever so happy. I hate all the new additions - none of them good that R gave. My biggest gripe is the removal of the DLNA app that worked great with my MEDIA Server (windows) and streamed my .M4V ripped DVD collection, that my HTPC also uses, flawlessly. The WALKMAN and MOVIES app in the R5 software - for use of a better word - S U X !!!
I already called SONY to find out how to REVERT and of course got the answer, YOU CAN'T. You would think that with over $20,000 worth of SONY equipment purchased in the last 8 years they would help.
Thanks,
bearhntr

Connecting to Wifi slows down internet speed.

I notice every time I connect my SGS2 to my wifi, after awhile, it slows down my internet of other devices to the point where loading webpage take 5 seconds or more. So if I connect my phone to the wifi, in about 20ish minutes my computer's internet speed will start to lag. The webpage load slower, and my online games have 2-4s of delay.
I have a qwest router (Actiontec PK 5000)
Whatever the problem is I really doubt it's phone related. How old is the router?
One time at football camp, I put my shoulder pads in my arse.
Another vote for router issues.
Or if you have modem and separate router, possible the modem is bad. If you can rule out the router I would call your ISP for a new modem. I doubt the phone could clog enough bandwidth to explain your issue.
Edit:
I didn't see you show your router. I have the same exact router/modem. Did you get the firmware update? I think you have to do it manually. I used to have lots of issues where the router would throttle my connection, saying to check for viruses, too many connections. And I would have to unplug and reboot daily. (On the old firmware you can verify this under the modem utilization screen)
My current firmware version is: qap002-3.60.3.0.9.9-pk5000
After I updated the firmware I never have issues. If I choose to, I can browse on my phone, watch Netflix (directly on Vizio TV), my wife browse on the TouchPad, all on a 1.5Mbps connection without issue.

I have SGS2 and new tp link wi fi router TL-WR740N.
When i measure the internet speed on speedtest i have 6MB/S download and 17 ms ping.
But when i connect wi fi my telephone SGS2 on the second test i have 5042 ping and 0.42 MB/s download.
When i measure it for the third time, on the moment when there is ongoing pin calc. when i disconnect my phone from wifi , that instant moment my ping and downloads speed is ok.
What is gong on ?
ANYONE PLS HELP !!

Does this happen when you connect any other device to your wifi?

if i remember correctly, the more devices that you have connected to wifi at one time, the slower your connection is. All the devices are using data/bandwidth at the same time which means the individual task of each device has to wait for others as well. at least, thats what i've always gone by.
EDIT: i just have no idea why the change in speeds would be so drastic :/
This thread is from January. Put the shovels away. Also, it's not relative to this phone. It's relative to what kind of internet setup you have at your residence.

Does your prime WIFI actually work properly?

Ok, so I hear many people saying my wifi works fine, you other guys must have bad wifi cards... Enough of the yea it works fine bs, solid numbers please. Lots of people believe that every prime has bad signal strengths.
Here is my screenshot and testing, lets get some hard numbers from a large number of tablets and then make asus do something about it.
I took my macbook pro, my htc evo 3d and my prime all around my house and ran speedtest.net from each all using the same server and all on the wifi connection moments apart from each other. My router is set to broadcast N only and it on auto channel.
I attached the image my first test, all within 2 meters of my router. Macbook 22.91 mbps, EVO 3d 15.59 and Prime 14.39. this is good. if i got this everywhere id be happy. Its the next test that pisses me off. At about 5 meters and behind one closed door my evo3d gets 7-9 mbps where my prime gets 2-3. at 10 meters and behind 2 closed doors like my bedroom.. my evo gets 6-7 and my prime gets 0.2-0.8 thats 20-80k a second.. not acceptable.. I have run multiple tests always similar results. I will try to get more pics up soon.
Please guys grab the speedtest.net app for your prime and your phone and do these tests and different distances from your router. Lets CONFIRM every prime has this interfernce issue aka the case and make Asus swap the cases or install an rf window at a service cost. I am about to return it and wait for tf700 series.
***EDIT***
just added new pics of testing. 2 meters from router, bout 7 meters in my room(1 door), and 12 meters in my bathroom (2 doors)
as you can see the prime drops off FAST. I always did 3 or 4 tests on each device to rule out bad samples. In the last one you can see the prime got under 2.4mbps for 4 tests.. I KNOW THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN BEAT TO DEATH. but i want to make sure people who think their unit is not flawed actually test. not say ya im connected it loads fast

holy **** another "wifi sucks" thread. return the thing and go away! good riddance.
Every Prime doesn't have wifi issue. what's so hard to understand about that? lol mines worked great since 12/22. compared and tested signal range, strength, and download speeds compared to my Ipad and my Atrix 4g. Prime is on par with Ipad n atrix as far as range n signal strength goes. My Prime gets way faster download n upload speeds than other 2. there have already been several polls showing most prime owners here wifi is fine. Stop feeding into the negative hype..lmao
plus hour problem is you have it set to N only. N range has 2 frequencies. 5ghz n another one. prime doesn't support 5 ghz. only other one.
maybe you need to read this article n you will see your issue

ill post my speeds in a moment.....OK first test within 2 meters. great speed as i usually pull even faster than this.
2nd test....same spot..even faster

I'm just wondering why you didn't show where your prime sucks at 2-3 instead 14?
To make your case, show it the worst possible..
I have read many of these "bad wifi" threads.. ive never seen hard numbers and screenshots .. if I just have to return my prime for another ill be very happy. I just havent seen anyone who says ya my wifi works good show proof. they say it works fine.. wifi has a huge range of speeds... fine isnt an adequate description. I am now gonna read the thread you linked me. But as you said with the n and 5ghz it worked even worse on abgn mixed mode. and i did the testing yesterday i didnt take pics of that but like i said i will now.
Actual tests with number? I haven't done that. I did walk around and look at where I had a signal and where I didn't. The prime is better than any other wifi device I have in as far as getting a signal. My wife's notebook might be better but I didn't compare with it since I don't use it but I do remember being impressed with her notebook when I set it up for her.
As far as speed goes, I was able to stream an HD video over wifi local network without issue. Can't imagine needing it to be faster than that.
If I got bad wifi, then normal wifi is better than I need it to be.

I see what you saying. I heard Prime doesn't do to well on mixed modes also not sure. Try G only.
As far as my netgear router, I'm not even sure what its on. it is 2.5ghz and I'm on a clear channel. In an apt. building where others have their wireless going also so glad I'm on a channel others aren't using. Used wifi analyzer to determine that info. Don't have a PC hooked up to network. I have Comcast high speed wireless. I have seen others post same results as you then changed to G and produced way better results. night n day difference, from what they said. Speeds do dropoff as distance and barriers are increased no matter what mode you on. As seen in the article linked, N mode is not the best for range anyways.
As I've posted on other threads, after writing a couple of emails, Asus called me and said that there are some bad WiFi-BT chips in the first batch of Primes shipped. They asked to RMA mine so they could hopefully fix it.
Next to my Wifi sources, the Prime would get near full speed (11 Mbps). However, in family room, 20 or 25 feet away, Prime would get about 10% - 30% of that number. Three other devices in the family room all get near full speed.
Here are my results. I am in the basement, id say about 15-20 feet from router. I guess threw the ceiling...lol

Sorry that really isnt any useful information for me. I can stream movies too but when I walk into my room it starts to chop. For you to say if I have bad wifi normal is better then I need it to be, is a ridiculous stance on the subject. We paid for a top of line product, it should match any other high quality wifi device. If its just a bunch of units and I can simply return this for another then I will be happy and will praise this device not be *****ing, but EVEN if switching to G makes it work flawless, its still unacceptable to live with. At work I cannot change the router. In public places you cant change the router. This device should work on any mode as well as my laptop, my phone etc etc.
I did read the thread about the wifi analyzer, and going over my results. I changed to a lower Hz, and changed the channel. I really have no idea what I was doing. I followed the advice of some other posters, and did a couple searches on my router, and it seemed to work. Id say my average is about 25mbs.
For me pages seem to load really fast, BUT a lot of times the page stops loading about 80% of the way thru and I get a pop up saying the BROWSER IS NOT RESPONDING....WAIT/OK. Now that crap drives me crazy.

I'm getting conflicting results testing the Wi-fi.
Today during the day I went around the house with my laptop, my cell and my Prime testing with speedtest.net and Wi-fi analyzer and the Prime was very consistent on all test.
...but tonight my Prime is getting 1/3 of the speed my laptop is getting. I don't get it.
stopping at 80 percent
Hi,
I think what you are seeing is normal. That's when flash content, often ads, starts to load, and the browser doesn't always resond well when that happens, unfortunately.
Um... if you're using "Speedtest" to test TFP wifi bandwidth and compare with other users' TFP wifi bandwidth, there are serious flaws with this testing methodology.
I ran a battery of tests exactly as you specified. In a separate thread. I tested wifi against tf101, ipad 1, laptop, and nexus prime at various ranges, channels, with and without BT. Prime was as good or better than the ipad in most tests and nearly as good as the laptop. The tf101 was stellar though. Search this forum for 'wifi shootout' and see for yourself.

I think what many are trying to say and I will echo, is that one more thread for an issue that has been beat to death already is old (I know lol, I am reading the thread and responding), use the existing threads and look at the work that has already been done. I returned mine for dropping wifi based on the work others had done and comparing my results. I may buy another one when ASUS says the problem is resolved and once people are seeing similar results to other devices in their home consitently. There are enough RMA's in the pipeline too that we should get good feedback when they are returned.

I don't know what is ridiculous about it. It works better than anything else I use. I'll take my experience a step further. Last week, I took my Prime and my laptop to an overnight stay in a hotel. My laptop kept having problems with the hotel's wifi. It had a signal just fine but I kept having to restart the computer over and over again to access the internet with the laptop. NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER WITH THE PRIME. I later discovered that my laptop had no issues with another hotel's wifi one block to the east of me so my laptop stayed hooked up to them while my Prime stayed hooked up to the local hotel's wifi without issue.
The next day, I had lunch at a restaurant a block west of my hotel where I brought my Prime. While there, I connected to the hotel that was now 2 blocks away on the Prime without issue and spent the lunch surfing the web and such. I didn't do any speed tests from that distance but it worked fine enough I wasn't thinking it was slow. I didn't hapve the laptop with me at the restaurant but my experience with the laptop I've had for 3 years tells me I wouldn't have even seen a signal with it from there.
The Prime's wifi works better than my other devices. If the Prime's wifi is crap, then all my other devices are crappier.
That said, I'll admit the GPS is disappointing and the microSD card sticking out too far is an issue too but I'm having a problem with all the complaints about wifi.
I used a Wifi Analyze to take a look...

Tablet S not holding Wifi Signal

I recently purchased the 16gb Sony Tablet S and am contemplating on whether or not to return it by the 30 day window due to sporadic wifi connection at my apartment. The issue is not as much the reobtaining wifi after the screen unlocks, as it is the general holding of the wifi connection when the screen is on.
I've isolated the problem to my specific router, as it works PERFECTLY at my GF's apt and my parent's house. Always connects right away and stays connected. However at my apt it doesn't always connect right way and have to manually turn the wifi off and on again, and sometimes have to manually hit connect from the wifi screen. When it finally obtains IP address it will connect, but most of the time for only a short period (like 20-30 seconds) before the wifi signal on bottom right just disappears. Then I have to toggle the wifi on and off again and try again. Very annoying. Sometimes it will connect though, and the wifi holds up like it should.
Here are the fixes I've tried so far:
* Reset and Factory Rest device
* Forget/Reconnect to network from device
* Update Router Firmware
* Configure Router - g/n mode and n mode from b/g/n
* Set Router Channel from auto to 1,6 and 11.
* Wifi Lock App (doesn't work and drains battery)
Personally, I feel like the tablet itself has an inferior wireless radio. Compared side by side to my other wifi devices, it has noticeably less signal at the router and diminishes quicker the farther away you go. Now, this doesn't really bother me as I'm usually always near my router. However, when I was scanning all the wifi networks around me (in cmd: netsh wlan show networks mode=bssid) I found over 30 networks around me all using the full channel spectrum. I've tried every channel on my router, but 11 seems the best.
Would a crowded wifi area affect the tablet? But again, my laptop, 2 phones, and PS3 connect at every channel with no problems at my apt. At my parent's house and GF's apt there are only 1 or 2 other available networks that could also be on my channel. That's the only thing I can think of.
I just don't understand why only the tablet is having wifi problems.
I have about a week left to return it, and would like to keep the tablet, but running out of patience. Next, I think I will try using MAC address and see if that works.
Any help would be appreciated!
Try this!
I had the same issue.
I solved the problem
1 - turn off wifi.
2- in accounts - turn off "auto connect"
3- turn on wifi ( test if work )
4- reconect the accounts
too simple .. but works , try it.

Thats certaintly not the problem since i have so many devices logged in on my network, and not having the same problems,
The Wi-Fi on Sony tablet has known issue's like loosing connection when screen goes standby, even if you checked this in settings never to shut down.
The steps in the post above can be the sollution, and if not, sony will make somehow a repair or a dev would fix this. goodluck.

Thanks. I tried that sequence and it seemed to work for a little bit, but then the problems reoccurred.
Again, the problem is not just that the wifi doesn't pick up right away after standby, but also, and more importantly, it looses wifi BEFORE the screen goes out while I'm using it, repeatedly.
Its very annoying and only happens at my apt and not at other networks. No other device on my network has this problem.
Nobody else has had this problem before?
I remember from older posts that tablet s has problem with certain brand routers. What routers are used in your places.

Its a ZyXel brand router that doesn't work. I'm pretty sure the one's that do work are both Linksys. The ZyXel router is probably a cheap one because it came bundled in a promotion from my ISP.
I guess I could try another n router, but still find it strange that all my other wifi devices are fine with the current router.
Wifi Signal
Sony is not as reliable as it used to be... My Tablet S keeps loosing WiFi signal, and the solution I found was to turn off and back on the WiFi. This fix the issue.
However another very annoying problem is that very often I need to hard reset the tablet as it locks the screen with no other way to recover it. Shame on Sony. An the annoying side flash light is ridiculous. I used to have an A100 that aside any design issues, worked perfectly never had any operational issue with it. Should have upgraded to a A500...
What worked for me.
I bought a Sony S as a birthday present for my wife. That was yesterday and today she went to work and left me to set it up for her.
I have a Cisco E3200 router. The tablet could see my router and connect to it but would drop the connection after 5 seconds.
Well, that was the first hour and a half of my day.
Finally, with nothing else to try, I set up a guest account on the router. The tablet found it and connected to it on the first attempt and has been connected now for over four hours including multiple restarts.
I have no idea why this worked. I just know that it did.
Clive.
Same issues here when docking tablet sometimes, but my work around is to turn WiFi off, and hit Fast Reboot ( app by Great Bytes Software) then turn WiFi back on. Fast Reboot seems to do a soft reboot on apps and system and it only takes a few seconds.
Hope this helps!

Wifi Issues
I bought the 32G version from Woot recently. The WiFi reception is awful. I am on my second unit same thing.
4 feet from Router (on 2nd floor), 3 bars out of 4. 15 feet goes to 2. Downstairs goes to 1 bar 1MBS. And drops like a hot potato. Sony has sent a RMA for repair. Being this is my second unit with same issue, I doubt there is a fix.
I use a LAptop, netbook, android phone on the same router. No issues. They all work well, even in the basement!
Updated to 4.0 on my original unit, no change.
Just ranting here, hoping for a surprise fix. Other than that Mrs Lincoln how was the play? I love the tablet otherwise. Will probably throw and a spare router downstairs or feed it off my 4G phone. Now that really sucks..LOL

sony tablet s wifi issue
Hi all,
after weeks of study here is what i found out:

I have tried 3 different Routers.
Verizon/ActionTecMi424
CheckPoint Z-100G
Linksys WRT54GL
No change no difference.
I finally installed another router on the other floor. Now it works in entire house, but have to change router connections if I move to a different floor.
The big question here I think is:
Is every Tablet S this way or do we have some bad samples? Software or Hardware. Sony has given me and RMA # to return for repair. I am hesitant to do that. If there is no fix or all units are this way.
I am not 100% sure but from my own testing I found it working 90% of the time everywhere else, here is how I tested:
home netgear, does not hold wifi , have to refresh page all the time to browse internet.
Work ( different router not sure what type yet) works just like a dream, fast no wifi drops no refreshes needed.
took it to most free wifi spots, not a problem.
friends house BT, Same issue again.
Wifi manager made it a bit better yes ( have to test now on channels 12 , 13 or 15 , wifi lock app does not work.
I hate to get a different router to get same issue at the end. however different posts elsewhere suggested setting router to N on and G off channels testing each time you make a change, on tablet set to manual ( have not done this bit yet).
It's not like we are all being picky here with Sony, we like the tablet itself and we bought it with a lot of money, we want to be able to browse the internet download things without getting our livers and kidneys enlarged.
more to follow , I am really hoping to be able to get my friend's wife update as she told us GOOGLE IS VERY AWARE OF THE ISSUE.

Bought Sitecom Router last friday, I can say that now my tablet holds wifi signal very well... :good:
WIFI Issue fixed
All,
there was an update last Thursday that fixed the wifi issue, I am not really sure what but my tablet s now holds and keeps wifi everywhere.
I had issued before with netgear and bt routers and after last Thursday it was just fine, i need to review the recent updates done and Let you all know.
I tried it everywhere and works perfect, download speed is perfect , not one drop of wifi so far.
I assume either Sony or Google did something here as it was getting an update last Thursday that lasted about 10 minutes, could not figure out what was that update yet.
