MIUI Home settings?

Is there anyway I can remove the thing when I press the home button the preview of my pages show? Just don't like it and it lags. Thankss.
Go into settings, where it asks what pressing home actions are, something like that, select do nothing. It is not the one that brings you to home screen, just what hitting home does when you are already there.

Of course I checked that already. Miui does not have that option

Q anyone else got an operative back button?

This is really starting to get in my nerves now that when in an app (especially XDA, FB, Tapatalk) when I press back instead of going to the previous screen it either takes me to the home page or my home screen.
I''ve tried all 3 speed settings on the tap and hold which helped a couple of apps but it sit does it I most.
Anyone else suffer this?

could it b that the app doesnt propely remain in memory? Meaning that if u press the back button once there isn't anything to return to than the home screen or homepage.

It seems to be like this for most apps though.
I have a few niggles with the phone like this, message notification, reception (my T-Mob wireless pointer is far faster on same network)it puts a full stop in front of a lot of words just to name a couple so going to take it back for a replacement.

Change android menu button

Is there a way with android that I can switch the behavior of my menu button on my home screen? right now when I short press it the menu will come up, when I long press it will go to search. It'd like it to go to search when I short press, is this possible?

I dont think so.
But its possible the other way around.
But then again, why would you want to replace the menu button function?
Its like the home button on an iOS Device

You can Edit system/usr/keylayout/sec_key.kl to change the key behaviour.

Ideal Buttons Functions/Layout

I'm not particularly fond of Samsung's default button layout and I wish it was this way (maybe some developer can hack it to make it so?)
Home Button:
Single Press - Home
Double Press - SVoice (Which can be disabled)
Long Press - Search
Menu Button:
Single Press - Multitasking (this is the most used button after home so it must be quick to access in my opinion)
Long Press - Settings
What do you guys think?
Menu button :
single press for multitasking - I don't use that. Scrolling the task menu is slow and annoying. I prefer going back to any apps by clicking on the apps icon on my home screen.

Task menu is slow cause of the long press, and that's exactly why it would be great to have that on single press

I think its slow because you can see what, 4 apps on the screen? PITA imo, I usually have so much stuff open that a reboot is faster than swiping it all away

Phone search

Is there a way to search the phone for files/apps/settings? I'm most interested in the settings search - I find myself constantly scrambling around to find certain settings that are buried deep in the menu system. I want to be able to search by a keyword and be able to jump right to a given setting/app/file.

I notice a search option on the home screen when I click the settings /options softkey but it doesn't seem to do anything (I'm on bonestock rom).

If you press and hold the "menu" key, Search will open. Then you can hit menu and settings, and choose what to search in the phone. But "settings" is not an option, unfortunately.
A different approach. Maybe you can put some settings shortcuts on one of your screens, the ones you use often and don't want to look for them.
Another option, if you swipe down with 2 fingers, you'll see a lot of toggles for a lot of settings. If you touch one of them, it turns that setting on and off. But hold it, and it will take you to settings.
