Sent from my LT26i using xda premium

Yes, you're right, the new firmware has changed the sensitivity of the capacitive buttons!
Has made a very pleasant experience since updating!

Why am I not getting this update? I bought my Xperia S a week ago and I got the .73 update almost instantly. But still no sign of the .75 update
Btw, I'm from India. Anyone from India got this update?

I am not sure if there is a country problem..but just as example..I live in Bolivia but my sxs was brought from Italy..but at least do you have the upgrading notification? Cause I have seen cases of people who have the. 73 one not getting neither the notification nor the update until now

Do i need to upgrade to .75 firmware before .76
My Xperia S came with 6.0.A.3.73 I cant upgrade my phone via SEUS or PC as when i plug in my phone it displays that i cant upgrade as i got modified applications on the system. So i kinda ran in the forum n found out that i can upgrade my Xperia through Flashtool with stock ROMS. So, anyways, my question is, do i need to upgrade to .75 before i can do a .76 firmware upgrade?? Please do let me know

6.0.A.3.76TW
Yesterday, I got my fon updgraded (Flashtool) to 6.0.A.3.76TW and its definitely a smooth one than .75 .. Doomkernelv0.4 was a great help on rooting the fon..looking forward to get a ICS update (Not before the bug fixed & a firmware upgrade) .. really happy with the Gingerbread firmwire =D...the touch and menu buttons r impressively responsive. I highly recommend this update to anybody whos still on Gingerbread or want to downgrade.
6.0.A.3.76+Root+TitaniumBackUpPro = EPIC :laugh::laugh:!!~

Might downgrade and try this myself

I suppose you did the official update, right?
Did you have custom parts before?
You could try repair option in Sony Mobile Update Service.

Strange issue, although I read about some camera issues from the Sony Support Forum also...
Try reinstalling the ROM.
If issue still appears, you have to wait for the official ICS, shouldn't take too long with your carrier. Just connect your phone, open Sony Update Service and look for update.

[QUESTION]Any Dutch people flashed yet?

Hi there,
Are there any Dutch people who have flashed their Xperia S to .73?
I'm on KPN, Phone software version 1252-0023_6.0.A.3.67, Cust version 1257-1995. Version .67
It was originally delivered with .62 and updated to .67.
Now I've heard the .73 software is more better in battery usage. So are there any of you that flashed their original ROM to the .73 software?
And what are the advantages etc.?
Now that title is very misleading

Anyway, yes. I use the Singapore variant now with root. No problems with it. Also kpn, but the phone is not kpn branded ofcourse, bought it from marktplaats. Everything is running wel, before flashing, read the instructions carefully, than nothing can go wrong. Biggest pro is the battery for sure.
Verstuurd van mijn LT26i met Tapatalk
I'm on vodafone but I couldn't wait so I downloaded a rom and flashed it with flashtool. It's working perfect, battery is much better..
Battery is indeed much better.
Generic NL does have all the specific features you might need (national roaming, ...) and already has .73 available (I flashed it a few days ago using PC Companion).
You can download the Generic NL .67 FTF here, you don't have to delete userdata to flash it. Afterwards, you can just update it to .73 using PC Companion or SEUS!
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1562605
Thank you guys. I already flashed .73 NL Generic on my XS, downloaded from the XDAserver. So no more KPN branded ROM.
And indeed, overall speed and battery seems much better!
I flashed the first minutes when it came out.

Those T-mobile goatfokkers! Before I went to the KPN-shop to get my xperia, I firstly went to T-mobile and informed if the ROMs on Xperia S were branded. They said no, they weren't.
Luckey for me too.
The main thing is, if you bought by KPN, the ROM is Branded, but it still have its Xperia logo and normal apps you have in the NL Generic.
AND
The updates from KPN will come a bit later than the NL Generic (e.g. bought from CoolBlue, PhoneHouse etc.)
Here are the differences in ROM on XDA server http://www.xdafileserver.nl/index.php?dir=Sony+(Ericsson)/SE+Xperia+S+(LT26i)

If I want to use flashtool, rooting is nescessary?
New at this, when I'm sure that it has to be rooted, I will check the dev threads for the next steps.
Flashed and rooted to .73 Singapore a couple of weeks ago.
Works well!

Is there also a list somewhere what every update does?

can anyone pls upload a ftf or a .img? update still not available for me
it only just got certified... it'll be at least 2-3 weeks before they actually release it... IF they release it...

Yeah, it seems to just not affect some devices. Unfortunately my device was affected, so I had to downgrade to .564.
How can I install the "generic" firmware for my Xperia U ST25a? I looked on xdafiles site and there was only an ftf file for the ST25i version. Since my phone has my operator's firmware, I doubt it'll update it as often as Sony would. hahaha

You say it takes 2-3 weeks after certifying to be released... but, as you can see here http://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=21037 , there is plenty of certified versions, but I'm still on .564...
I'm new to Sony world (this is my first Sony phone). How this works? Is it local?
Not every certified update gets pushed out to users at the end.

I'm on. 564 and I was never mentioned I had an update to .162 as Sony had withdrawn the update following the signal loss bug...

That's good for you then. Sony took back the update for .162 as they realized that many people are facing severe connection problem.
I am now on .162
Well, the problem only occurs when you have GSM connection, if you set the connection to WCDMA/GSM you won't have the problem.
I am still waiting for .177 update, let's just hope it will come real soon
If you're facing the network problem, why don't you flash with .564?

I am just fine with this firmware, of course without considering the network problem on GSM.
I noticed that this FW is much faster than .564 I managed to get >2500 on quadrant which I could only get 2200 on .564 firmware.
If the update does not come within 3 days, I am planning to downgrade my firmware.
By the way, does flashing via flashtool void you warranty ? Somewhere on Sony Forum it says "might void" your warranty. It sounds vague to me.
Guys any one facing cameras issue?
Like for me after.some shots cameras closed with messages "camera not available"
Any one? Btw I am on .564

Updating Xperia P to ICS

I just got my brand new Xperia P today, about 3 hours ago. Charged it for 45 mins then turned it on. Then suddenly it told me there was an update available. I just went on and updated it and when it restarted it was ICS I thought it was just a small GB update since I read and have been told that ICS updates can only be performed through a computer. I'm not complaining or anything cuz ICS is awesome, hardly any lag so far, but I'm just curious to know if anyone was able to download the update for ICS without the use of a computer. Sorry if this is a noob question.
I wasn't able to

Mine's a sliver one bought from a local telco (Singtel) and I think it altered the thing inside the box. The charger is two pin (ridiculous if you're selling phones in a region that uses 3 pin) and there is absolutely no screen protector, none in the box and none already applied on the screen. And before upgrading manually using PCC, the .54 update was not detected by update centre app no matter how many times I refreshed... strange.
Mine Neilher had a screen protector. Flash it by yourself if you really want latest fw. Tbh I'm not ssatisfied with this update
