(q) anyway to disable HTC sence and just run ics stock UI - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Sent from my EVO using xda premium

not till cm9 or aokp are fully ported

The most noticeable thing people think of when they use Sense is the launcher though. You can go to the market and install Apex or Nova and it goes a long ways toward making your phone have a stock look to it.

Or install Trebuchet from a CM compilation from anyone's build.

ADW Launcher

Anyone still using this? I am, but haven't seen an update in a loooong time. Is apex o trebuchet better than adw?
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using Tapatalk
I have ADW EX but I haven't used it in months. It's easy to use and before I had the Amaze I used to use it on my previous phone. It was a nice launcher but now it seems like a hog. Wish I can get my money back..lol
Wait....I sent this with Tapatalk?
Adw is quick and light on resources, but apex launcher pro is where its at nowadays! Plus I always felt like adw ran like crap on my HTC phones, always freezing and force closing. Go with Nova or Apex for ICS
I always use ADW before my amaze and for a little while after getting so I could use the ICS theme. Never had any problems with ADWEX, but since the ICS update I use Trebuchet just cuz I like how simple it is.

What ^^^ said. ADWEX is my fav launcher for Gingerbread, but Apex is what I use on ics

Gonna try trebuchet and apex then, with ICS it's kinda slow. When i bought the ex version i thought it would always be cool, now is just like nah.

GB = ADW EX
ICS = Apex Pro

Why not go launcher?.. Doesn't go launcher work w ics?... I've always used it and thought it was the best.
I have always been confused as to why it's almost ignored on xda... I'd love to know why!

GO and ADW (and launcherpro before dev bailed ship) are the best for GB. If you are gonna be on ics, might as well use an ics launcher.

Indeed. I tried both Apex and Trebuchet, and I can say that I preferred Apex. It's imply got more options.
Not really the answer I was hoping for.. Is go launcher not fully ICS implemented?.. are all the functions options & capabilities not working or something?
I really interested in a clear & detailed answer as im about to do the ics update soff etc

Just want it so bad... How did you managed to have it? Ah maybe you just trollin' since you have it on an other phone?
For my part I'm on stock sense I find it's really not bad compared to LG or Motorola stock launchers. I still prefer the aosp one mostly because it's open source. I Love open source.

I don't troll, lol. I just gave my opinion that I like that one, . There was one of the guys/girls testing AOSP files on sense, they pulled them from the AOSP roms for the sensation, most seemed to work fine, so you could probably grab the AOSP launcher from that and give it a try, should work since I doubt it's name rosie.

+1 for apex. used to use go launcher but found apex to be more minimalistic, smoother, and simpler.
Usually ICS stock... Works well enough, but still a battery hog.
Tried Apex, but didn't see a huge diffrence fron Go Launcher. I go back and forth, but usually stick with Sense.

Apex Launcher is amazing. I was using Go Launcher forever, but Apex is faster, smoother, and lighter.

Out if all the launchers I've tried on this phone and previous phones. My favorite was ADW EX. Since owning the Amaze I can't steer away from Sense. I like the widgets and things. I know its just personal preference but everytime I use other launchers I can't set up my screens like I do with Sense. Once we have AOSP or any CM then I will probably change it up. But until then I'm sticking with Sense

Miui "Free Desktop" Launcher Coming soon?

A friend emailed me a link of a Vid of a upcoming MIUI Launcher and it looks like one those launchers comparable to TSF Shell and SPB SHELL
Here's the vid:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hICCWO8vaXU&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Looks Amazing
P.S. the vid is in Chinese...so yeah..
It's basically a customizable Desktop-like launcher.
I love miui innovation. I'm game. Now i wish i understood anything that video said.

Anyone know when its hitting the ROMs? This is the sickest launcher I've seen!

I will port this miui the day it hits the forums lol

Exciting
I just found out the latest Miui releases have this. In order to use them though.. they require a theme*ish type theme.
It themes your rom but gives you the desktop thing.. Download Angry Birds theme. Its the only one including this as of now that I know of.
Its pretty neat but seems to be really in beta.

Sense ROM with no 'cube' home screen scroll?

I know it's an EVO 3D and that is supposed to be the '3d' effect but out of everything. the thing that I have never liked about evo 3d Sense ROMS is that all of them have the 'cube' scroll effect for the home screen. is there any that don't or any of them that can be changed? a tweak? let me know. thanks.
You could try a different launcher like Apex Launcher.

I'm on AOKP right now so I have classic scroll but I kinda wanted it on a Sense ROM ill check around though.
Go launcher has a sense 4 launcher, as far as getting a sense rom without the cube effect, if your gsm? All the roms have the cube effect.

Me neither, but apex and nova are both really nice for ics. ADW ex is an oldie but a goodie.

I also dislike that Sense cube effect. I think Go Launcher is superior to both Apex and Nova and that's what I use.

[Q] AOSP/AOKP noob

Just started running Neo's AOSP rom, loving it so far. The only thing I miss about Sense is some of the widgets. Is it possible to use sense widgets on a non sense rom?

No.
Edit: To further expound on that, you would need the Sense framework and Rosie (Sense launcher)

check this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1732330 it has an exact clone of the Sense 4 Flip clock widget for other launchers (even works in AOSP)
+1 for Android Pro Widgets. Gives you a lot you may miss from Sense. Beautiful Widgets is good for the clock/weather widget we all know so well from Sense, but lately I've been using HD Widgets for the clock/weather, which I like a little better.

Anyone know if we can use the standard ICS gapps with AOKP/AOSP or if the rom dev has to supply them?

You can use standard on any. Neo provides some themed ones for his roms ,but they aren't necessary.
Neo has a download on his aosp and aokp roms for inverted gapps, and another flashable download to turn the inverted apps back to normal.
