Greetings brothers,
I recently made the transition from resurrection with the siyah kernel to the much simpler pure ics with the xwlpg kernel. But I would be lying if I said I don't miss the extweaks app. Sadly its only siyah compatible. I would like to have the BLN feature and the fast usb charging (6500 instead of 4500 mA). Is there any way I can incorporate those 2 features in my awesome new rom?

Just flash the latest version of Siyah Kernel via CWM Recovery or Odin. It doesn't matter what ROM you have, you can change the kernel.

Siyah kernel. Most popular kernel for sgs2 at the moment. Unified kernel, can be flashed on any Samsung based rom or aosp roms like miui and cm7.

Well, it depends on how wisely you undervolt and also make use of many no of features this kernel offers. I haven't used miui. So i don't know if something specific, like media scanner running endlessly or something that's causing battery drain.
I'm on gingermod rom. With siyah, battery is really good. See this (my own ) post about some of the features for saving battery in Siyah, that the dev has incorporated. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=19231855&postcount=9615
Reviving an old thread.... now that MIUI hmade the jump to ICS.... which kernel do you recommend?
Is it possible to get BLN working on SGS2 with Spike Pure ICS? I currently have the SE 2.0 and the BLN app says the kernel does not support it. Is there a Pure-ICS-compatible kernel with BLN support?
Abyss, N.e.a.k., Syiah And some other it can. You mean probably support for stock SMS, there isn't still mod with suport BLN. Possible is use other sms, f.e. Go SMS, or create task in tasker apk for stock.
Thanks for the tips, I have a Spike pure ICS ROM (it gives a Google stock ICS experience) so I was wondering if those kernels work with it. I am using the kernel that came with it now: CF-root BULPC kernel. I am not sure what BULPC means...

SiyahKernel v3.2rc1 works fine with Spike pure ICS
You can flash the new SiyahKernel v3.2rc1 http://www.gokhanmoral.com/
It's OK i have tested on Spike rom without any problem...
PS you can activate BLN support also with exTweaks....
I want to flash a custom ROM to My S2 ...What i dont get is whic kernal to flash .Can someone provide a comparison between Fluxi ICS Kernel, Siyah ICS Kernel, CM ICS Kernel, Dorimanx ICS Kernel & Dark Knight ICS Kernel?? What is the Difference between all of these??
Thanks in Advance.
Read the first page of the thread devoted to each kernel. The specific features will normally be in the first post on that page. There is no chart or thread or whatever listing features of all the kernels on here, there's too many of them for starters & kernels change all the time.
I'm on siyah kernel and it's awesome. I reccomend it... I tried time ago most of the kernel, xxkernel, siyah, dorimanx( just yesterday) but the most stable and usable for me ( I'm on cyano) is the siyah for now... thoravukk kernel at the time I try it wasn't bad but the recovery won't work well... dorimanx comprised with the siyah is really similar the only thing that force me to switch again to siyah was some bug of the dorimanx that the dev will fix.. the dark knight kernel wasn't bad also... but it doesn't have a app to tune the kernel ( like ex tweak).. if you try the dorimanx remember to download extweaks and set the governor of deep sleep ( both) on pesasusq, if you gonna try some other kernel like thoravukk or xxkernel please post your impression, I'm always looking for the ultimate kernel for me right now for stability and feature is the siyah... dunno if the battery life is optimized better on other kernel... I have not bad battery life with siyah...

Hi, im new here.
Im looking for good kernel in combination with a samsung bases newest android rom.
I want a rom/kernel with a good/long battery use and the most settings and things.

I know there are more roms but i want to use those what i mentioned.
Can you tell my more about Siyah and do you know the others?
Can you send some screens from settings/batteryuse
thanks!
I have CyanogenMod 10.2.0, and I'm very happy whit it, but one of its little issues is it doesn't support HDMI output whit the adapter.
So, using the dual boot option in googy max kernel, I want to flash a rom (and has to be android 4.1.2), essencially just for that. Some time ago I flash the Omega rom, but couldn't make the camera work, despite of the app I used.
Which custom rom is the simpliest (is that a word?? ), smooth, stable and -camera fully functional- ?? I'm sure there's a lot, and don't want to start an eternal debate, just a short list, please
Thanks in advance.
Edit: just realiced this goes in Galaxy SIII Q&A forum, sorry for that, how can I move it?

Ok, I haven't tried those, I'll give them a try
Thanks!
But I am tempted to believe it's a kernel issue. anyone know if that could be the problem?
