Hello everyone, Need some advice on picking up a pair of headphones that I can use to listen to music and also make calls. Apart from the Klipsch made specifically for Android, is there anything else out on the market? I really wanted the bose but read on a few sites that they dont full function correctly. I have iPhone buds that I can listen to music but the mic does not work but work fine with my Nexus S.
I use these
amazon.com/V-MODA-Noise-Isolating-Headphone-Universal-One-Button/dp/B002XYUHFY/ref=sr_1_12?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330051591&sr=1-12
They work great with my Note.
Thanks, I am looking for standard earbuds not those noise cancellation.
I picked up the skullcandy ones from att , they were 39.99. I know they are probably not great especially for the the price but honestly I like them alot. Decent bass to treble mix and ppl say they hear me very well when I use them.
Sent to you from the NOTE.
I got some Ifrogz in ear headphones that work get at Walmart the other day. They have a Mic and a button that functions like the iphone button. I believe they were $16. The sound is pretty good I think.

they are standard buds not sure why it says noise cancellation. plus noise cancellation would be way more than 30 bucks.
Sorry i am not being clear but i am talking about the non isolator ones. I am looking for something like the standard iphone style not like the in ear ones.

I have a pair of Altec Lansing muzx I believe they are called. Woot sells them from time to time for like 5 bucks. For the price and with the mic, they are solid. Its a braided and coated cable, just wish the 3.5mm was a right angle plug and not a 90° plug that I will surely break in my pocket eventually.

$7.99 apple earphones with mic on ebay from dailysteals
I just tried my Zagg headphones and the paus/play/forward/back button works. I would recommend these headphones if you can find them for cheap, especially since they replace them if they stop working. I don't think they are worth full price.
Tried my Bose AE2 and the play/pause/forward/back button works but not the volume controls.

how do you like those? they look really gimmicky to me.
I am using the one that came with the Samsung Focus (windows phone ). It works great. The mic, volume control, pick up and end call function works too. I actually had a $40 skull candy earbud... but the volume control didn't work. I use it with double twist and when i press the on and off button it plays music using double twist. press twice quickly and it goes to the next track. press 3 times and goes reverse. i <3 OEM
Hey guys just looking for a decent pair of earbuds for the Evo 3D that have a mic and volume control at least and would not mind play/pause. I know these are made for I-junk but has anyone tried them with the evo to see what works ?

My friend got some sennheiser's that have a mic & volume control. Worked on his bi-phone and worked on my evo 3d
you should be ok
What ever you do, don't go for skull candy! The build quality is horrendous. With no effort at all I broke my friends pair (he let me do it).
They would be functional, but I would go for some Audio-Technica's or Sennheiser's
i bought my iBeats by Dre for around $66 on the official website they are about $140
the control doesnt work for android sadly...well not for me anyways...but i like the sound they make if i cant hear someone in front of me without an eq then the headphones are a win in my eyes.
Used skullcandys before I think they are great honestly
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Just so you know, the volume control won't work with SkullCandys. I bought a pair of 50/50s, and the mic works, as well as the play button, but the volume control doesn't. And I'm pretty sure that none of the volume control buttons on any headphones will work on the EVO 3D because the port isn't designed for it.

audio taste vary so widely person to person... some prefer accurate sound, some prefer strong bass. its almost useless to compare until one has personally try them out to see....
Meelectronics M9P - i have it, they're great and everything works. Mic, play/pause and that sound is awesome, even more awesome with beats
try a jays three ... They are awesome and designed for android, theres even an app in the market to customize what the buttons do.
the controlls on the skullcandys wont work, I have tried a pair, they are designed for iphone.
I have a pair of Bose IE2's. They have a variation with the headset controls and another for the iPod. They sound awesome.
The customer support is awesome too. I gave mine a run through the wash on accident and called them up. They sent me a new pair and some more of the silicon ear pieces - and even extended my 1 year warranty to cover the new earbuds.
Oh, and the customer support guy was a competent, English-fluent American who I actually believe was really named Mike (unlike the overseas CS from Dell with fake Americanized names). He made the process quick and absolutely pain free. That alone totally made me a customer for life.

Ok, here's the deal. I have some power beats phones that I used with my Galaxy S2, and the mic and center play/pause button worked great. I bought a Note and the mic doesn't work. (Damnit) So I bought the Phillips SHS8105A. Well these don't stay deep enough in the ear canal when running with any of the buds to here the bass good. So then I bought the Klipsch S4A earbuds. I ran like 10 steps and the left bud fell out, SMH. So these will not be my solution either. I would love to just use my problem free power beats, so I guess I'm wondering if the problem is software or hardware based. Works on the S2 but not the Note? Could it just be a file missing that enables it? If it didn't work on a phone from the same company it wouldn't be driving me crazy, Lol. Any opinions, help is welcome

I use MEElectronics M6-CL sport from Amazon only 20 bucks. This includes many different ear pieces for a tight comfortable fit and a case to hold everything. They sound great, and they stay in your ears when your running. I run about six miles a week no problems with the head phones.

The one and only Motorola Elite Silver Bluetooth headset is the best amongst 12+ Bluetooth devices I have ever used.If you are willing to spend a handsome amount and want call quality, voice clarity and some voice recognition done perfectly, keep your fingers crossed and go for it!
ouch its beautiful but the price is a killer
Jabra BT2080. I have used it for a year and a half with no issues. I like that its charged through the micro-usb connector so i can charge it almost anywhere without the need for a special connector.
The only issue that i have sometimes is that sometimes the other person cant hear me very well if its windy. I believe you van pick oneup for around $20. Every now and then it will pop up for $12.
I have probably owned more than 20 different Bluetooth models over the years. But for more than a year I have only used the BlueAnt T1. Although I haven't tried the Motorola model referenced earlier in this thread, the BlueAnt is the best that I have ever tried.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda app-developers app
One other thing to keep in mind: if you wear glasses, you'll probably hate any model that has anything going over your ear like the Motorola Elite Silver. At least I know that I do. Some models have a detachable over the ear piece that you don't have to use, but ones like the MES can't be removed.

Gentlemen, i apologize. I meant Jabra BT2080 and not 2070.
i have a jawbone era and also a blueant T1. they both work well. they both have apps in the play store that work with them. i like and recommend both. jawbone costs more, it was a gift. i bought the blueant for myself to replace my original jawbone i washed. i don't use the clips or hooks, just the earbud piece and the jawbone fits better than the blueant. hope this helps.

The Elite Silver for sure I am looking into but some user reviews complain about losing the pair between device and phone, has that been an issue for you at all
+1 on the Blue Ant T1, best noise canceling i have experienced. Plus, you can find them online for s little as $15 since they came out a couple of years ago.

It has been like 2 months and I never have faced such problems,I don't know why the other users face such problems, maybe a batch of those came bad out of production.
My BT is simultaneously paired with my Razr Maxx as well as Samsung C3350 without any problems or any sort of disconnecting issues at all.
I have BT A2DP dongle, Motorola S705 which I bought for RAZR V3xx; 4 years ago, and it working fine with RAZR XT-910
My RAZR also can paired with China made cheap car audio and Creative D80 cheap BT speaker system.

The best I've found for all the features you mentioned plus streaming music which is important to me is the Bose Bluetooth Headset Series 2. Costs a pretty penny but it's worth it.
Bose? Da fuq?
Blueant Q2 works great for me...have tried the Motorola Elite Sliver and didnt enjoy it much, noise reduction was a huge problem for me when it was windy, and as mentioned earlier, when wearing sunglasses it wasnt comfortable at all and didnt let my glasses sit right. With the Blueant I havent had any of these problems...I forget its on most of the time and it has excellent noise cancelling (I work in a Quarry around heavy equipment and unless I'm standing within a couple feet of running equipment I have never had a complaint of "I cant hear you").
Another that I had great results with that you can find very cheap as its an old model is the Motorola H17txt...only problem with that is my wife keeps breaking the flip mic...I never did, but I'm a bit anal about taking care of my electronics...
Jabra extreme 2 works great

Hello. I have the old Motorola headset H680 and H12 and work perfectly with the RAZR.
Hello everyone, I'm going to upgrade my set of headphones in the next week and have narrowed it down to the Klipsch Image S4A's and the Shure SE215's. I wanted to know your guy's opinion on which ones are going to give me the best bang for my buck.

I have the s4a's and I love them to death. I had beats tour in ears before and they are way better then the beats. Oh, and welcome to the site
Where did you get your S4A's from? I found them at best buy on sale for $80. I was thinking of getting them for a week then returning them and getting the SE215's so I can compare the two. And thanks I've been around for awhile but I never posted before until now.

I have the S4a's and I like them a lot. Great sound quality (I've tried numerous earbuds from Sennheiser and MEElectronics), multiple tips to fit your ear, carrying pouch. They suggest you use the Klipsch Control app in the Market. I don't know if anybody else with these can comment - unfortunately when I double-click the inline control to try to skip tracks, it will also redial the last called number on my phone, which of course isn't what I want to do. So I actually don't use their app and instead just rely on stock functionality to use the button to play/pause with one click, and I use the long-press-volume mod in MeanBean ROM to skip tracks.
S4 hands down. I had them and loved them. However the audiophile bug bit me and i upgraded to Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 and a Fiio E7 amp lol
another vote for the s4's. I have the reference s4's. I find the quality to be just as good as (with a slightly less prominent bass) my $200 sennheisers.
Theyre not the s4a version, but its the same hardware without the mic and button. Occaisonally they go for under $50, but you can usually find them from $50-$60.
The trade off of the s4a's would be the added bulk, which isnt much, but its enough to get caught on something or snag your jacket, for the functionality of a mic and a single button. I occaisonally find myself wishing i got the s4a's, but i love the slightly slimmer design on the regular ones.
Another reason i went for the reference s4's is because they comes with a little tin box (severely dented now), the size of an altoids can. I'm not sure why it appealed to me so much, but i liked it better than the s4a's accessories.
Can't go wrong either way. They're nice and durable too, but you should keep them in whatever tin or pouch comes with it.
cheers

I can't speak for the Shures, but I had a set of the Klipsch S4's and liked them a lot, in spite of a couple of small faults. They sounded great, as long as I was sitting relatively still. Walking or running, there was a lot of cord noise transmitted and the cord itself was heavy enough to pull the buds out my ears when it was bouncing around (a little clip solved that problem). And yes, I know how to pick the right tips to get the right (tight) fit in my ears. Also didn't like the long-ass straight plug - I prefer the right-angle plugs because I tend to put my phone upside-down in my pocket.
After a cat chewed through the cord on my S4s (he's no longer with us...), I picked up a set of the Ultimate Ears 350 and couldn't be happier. Better deep bass extension without being muddy, better fit, and right-angle plug. Plus I think they're generally cheaper.
Well my Shure's came in yesterday and I haven't found anything to complain about yet. They sound amazing compared to the $20 Sony earphones i had before. The sound isolation is really good on these. With the volume only half way I can't here anything else whatsoever.

I used the s4a's currently using the s4a2's (the new and improved version). These are by far the best ear buds I ever owned and much better than the beats brand. The control app is s*** because it crashes sometimes when the phone is asleep (meaning, no sure control when phone is asleep) BUT there are other, much better control apps out on the Play store. They are expensive but if you treat them well, they will last a long time.

I've had two pairs of the klipsch s4. Could really feel the lows but distorted on the highs. I still would buy another pair though. These are legit
My s4a's are solid, they've essentially replaced my larger cans.
I wholeheartedly recommend them for anybody looking for a solid pair of headphones. Sure they're not 25 dollar headphones, but they don't sound like 25dollar headphones...
I hope you enjoy them
