If you have that ROM, in your App drawer you will find an App that Labeled "OMEGA"
GO to that App,.. Then it will Move you to the Own Customizing Phase..
there is a Tons of Kernels,Tweaks and Mods....
Cooked your Own ROM by using it.

goto omega files app -> kernels>insecure kernels-> insecure XXALF2 kernel download it and flash it. its the one that comes with omega 5.2

How to know which kernel is correct?
As of now I am using Sensation rom which has Siyah kernel 2.5.2 and I want to flash speedmod kernel or N.E.A.K. Kernel,
N.E.A.K. Kernel only supports sammy roms
I tried to search but I could not find out if Sensation rom is aosp or sammy do you have any idea of it?
also does speedmod kernel support both as nothing it written about it on its thread

Normally on the first page of a rom thread you will get a description what is the rom. For example MIUI is well MIUI. Hyperdroid is sammy deodex rom with of course modifications and tweaks in the build to make it better than stock.
Sensation rom is sammy deodex no aosp nothing like that. And when you normally look for an AOSP rom it normally would say it in the heading of the thread anyway.
On the kernel thread it has a guide of what roms the kernel works on and which ones it does not. Siyah works basically with any rom. CM7 to AOSP to sammy deodex. Regarding Simone's kernel which is the NEAK version or something like that it is based on only sammy stock deodex roms and that is mainly the ones in original development and android..just look out for deodex, sammy and stock rom
AS above its all a question of reading the info on the first page of the kernel post .
Plus if it does not work flash another one .
the Neak kernel should be ok been on mine for a few days .
Speedmod likewise ok have used it before .

Now, if you look at the VERY FIRST page for SensatioN ROM,, it says:
SensatioN ROM Features:
-Based on Samsung Firmware XWKK5 Android 2.3.6
With all of this information, you should be able to deduce that the Speedmod kernel WILL work with your ROM. If you still don't understand, I'm going to suggest you don't flash anything to your phone, for fear of ending up with a paperweight.

hi, i want to change my rom from lighting to Omega ICS V3.1 but i still don get it. this omega rom was XXLPH but my XXKG6. do i need to find the correct version of ROM in order for it to match my phone?

XXLPH is the Stock ROM that Omega is based on and Lighting is based on XXKG6. With such a difference in the two ROMs I would suggest flashing the stock version of XXLPH first, root it and then flash the Omega rom.
Make sure you read the flashing instructions in the Omega thread first.

No. I would suggest flashing the stock Samsung firmware which can be found in Intratechs thread.
Then Root using the appropriate CFroot.
Then flash Omega
Then flash your black and Blue theme.

Just flash the rom you require according to the instructions on that roms page .
If its ICS based its not stock its a buggy beta leaked test firmware base.
If it is ICS based before you flash find out how to restore to 2.3.6 will save you asking the question later .

For stock rom, i need to look for XXKG6 right? and the version is still 2.3.4
Umm just wipe data and flash? Thats what i do when moving between roms/fw.
Went from checkrom to ics that way.

Like jje said. Backup via CWM before switching roms so you can simply restore and your back as before.
CWM nandroid backup is like taking a snapshot of your device. Saves you a lot of questions and hassles later.

For cleanest new rom do 4 wipes. Only wiping cache and dalvik when flashing newer versions of same rom.
From GB to ICS and ICS to GB I prefer 4 wipes.

What type of Rom are you trying to flash?
Most custom roms include a kernel so you you will have to refresh back to your preferred kernel.
Or you can open the zip file and replace the kernel of your choice as long as it matches your firmware version, ie GB kernel for a GB rom etc.

any kernel may not work with any ROMs...almost all samsung firmware versions has got its own versions of Kernel.
In SGS2 normaly custom kernels are used for rooting your phone, like CF-root, whcih are made for almost all the samsung firamware matched kernels, you only want to pick the one matching for your ROM.
It is also seen sometimes advised to back up your Kernel, this can be done using a tool from Market called "Ktool", at a worst scenario, when your installed custom kernel giving you a treble you can restore the previous one.
EDIT : you are already on a custom ROM as well as Custom Kernel. both have got their newer versions alredy.

Well your still on gingerbread and an early kernel and early checkrom. There are many roms and kernels you can try the best for battery life us what works best for you and only you can figure that out with testing.
Try out an ICS Rom if you haven't done so already and there are now custom kernels for that as well.

On xda there are many roms with included kernels. Resurrection Remix v1.1 is my personal favorite ICS rom at this moment, with stock kernel battery life is very good. Just search on xda

I meant the kernel that is already included with the rom when you flash it. So just flash the rom and you don't need to install another kernel after it.

If you flash a rom it replaces the kernel you've been using with that of the rom you're flashing...

Eg cm9 + siyah
If you flash a new nightly it'll replace siyah with cm9s kernel so you have to flash siyah each time.

Hi,
I have two questions regarding the Android Kitchen, I would like to use my stock ROM and Stock Kernel and say take out some apps i don't want etc and add a few more.
So once i finish creating this rom and flashing it to my GS2, will this increase my binary counter? As I m not tinkering with Stock Kernel but the rom itself, I think it shouldn't but would like someone here to confirm this please?
Second question is can i just add say siyah's kernel with stock rom and build a new rom to flash on GS2, will that work that easily?

If you mean flash siyah kernel to stock rom yes but it will increase rom counter .

I rooted my S2 GT-I9100 to hopefully get around and never have a possible BrickBug issue.
I have:
S2 GT-I9100
Android version 4.1.2
Rooted: Kernel version [email protected] #57
Build # JZ054K.I9100XWLSD
So now I have this done, and from what I am understanding, the brick bug will not effect me since I am past stock 4.0.4 recovery.
So now if I wish to load custom Rom, with (Using FREE ROM Manager v5.5.2.3) I installed while non rooted in android 4.1.2 or Using the one Siyah loaded when I rooted? (CWM Manager v3.15)which is the right one to go with to load a custom rom? I am assuming the one Siyah loaded with the "Stock Kernel", like these 2 roms CM, and Aokp. Looked and find no device listed for GT-I9100. on the sites that serve the packages. Enlighten me please.
Your right 4.0.4 is the only brick bug software. Dont use rom manager or any other app to flash a custom rom. Use cwm recovery to do that.

OK, thanks! Now what Rom? I like CM, and aokp, but both dont seem to list my device.... How would I locate a rom that fits my device? I like the aspects of both roms mentioned because they allow customization, and they are well known.

No CM for S2 ? Impossible.Search.BTW,I recommend you a custom stock ROM.Best stabily and battery life,and good overall performance.BTW,if you want very big and good customization,go with Biftor ROM V12 and Biftor Aroma Mod V5.

Before or after the loading of a new rom? Is it a rooted kernel?
Look, since you have a rooted device (GT I9100 right?), you can flash a rom through CWM. Choose some YOU like, because it's personal.
Afterwards you CAN choose to flash another kernel, but it's not a must. Choose one you like, again.
