Hi,
Require help please my Neo gets hot and battery drain is very fast (less than 10 hours) since rooting. I upgraded to ICS, fw 4.0.3, Doomlord root, fw 4.0.4 after which it get warmer but has steadily got hotter and battery drain got quicker.
Main apps battery usage are
Android system 35%
cell standby 30% (wdmca/gsm)
screen 10%
phone idle 10%
wifi 8%
facebook 6%
Downloaded and installed pc companion phone recognised and connects, but when using repair get usb device not recognised, have MTP set, unknownn sources set, usb debugging set.
Have tried flashtool to install .42 fw, phone connects but when try to flash (phone off) get usb device not recognised. pc companion not running
Have un installed, downloaded and installed pc companion 3 times and still same, any ideas please

i had the heating up issue on stock ICS 4.0.3 even when i rooted it...
now am on custom ROMs and very rarely get the phone hot as a brick...
if you want to enjoy the full potential of your phone... you can go custom with many options available out here...

Get one thing clear.. Rooting has nothing to do with thephone HEATING.. NOOO lConnections at all...!
Y du u need pcc for flashtool?? Just remove the usb drivers from ur pc.. Click Usb debugging in ur phone connect and Reinstall thm..Open flashtool and select files..thn connect it in flashmode..!
And flash baseband 64 if u want to try..it helps..on ics 4.0.4
and REMOVE the facebook app.. it Sucks battery...
i m running ics. With normal usage i cn get more thn a day easy..

bombayboy thanks but 64 baseband flash failed so flashing with 0.42.
will update with stock .62 and wait for sony official neo 4.0.4 in uk
strange used flashtool to flash 0.42, then used seus the reinstall and said latest fw installed but I continued to install and got 4.0.4 must have done something wrong. Oh well see how it goes.

Hi last night my x10 wouldn't charge i removed the battery and cleared battey stats in xrec but still nothing i was running free x10 beta3 (also dualtouch using j's method). i managed to restore to 2.1 uk generic and i can conncet in flash mode but only if i dont move the cable, but when it does connect in flash mode it doesn't appear on my pc or in seus. can anyone shed some light on this so i can reflash to vodafone uk and send it off to repair.

also i just remebered if i manage to connect it to my pc while the phone is on i dont get a pop up saying mount sd card, but it does charge.
Hi there, got xperia with broken? USB port - when plugged in to charger it charges (but doesn't show it's charging), when pluggen in to PC nothing happens (there must be a popup or notification in notification bar like i have on x8?)
the phone is really great, but it has only droid 1.6.
So is there any possibility to run update to at least 2.1 only from SD? not using the USB connection?
I have tried installing zdzihu's tool, but the phone says "cannot install application xRecovery Installer on this phone". Root made by Universal Androot and BusyBox installed in /system/bin/.

you can do this in 2 ways.
1:
Use SEUS. Download the New 2.1. Version. Turn your Phone off. Flash your Phone with SEUS
2:
Use Flashtool and flash a custum or genric ROM

really great, but PC doesn't find xperia when plugged in... so it didn't solve my problem.
use in settings the ota with wifi to update the Phone.
If the micrusb is not working, you should get that fixed 1st.
With phone rooted, busybox installed use xrecovery.apk from the official thread to install it.
Choose a nice firmware to install.

Shows network error (but browser and market normally operate), will try at home with other internet connection.
Phone has been sent to the service and they returned it cancelling guarantee.
all apps downloaded from official threads.

Got the same problem yesterday, bought on allegro like a new. I used it for 4 months, everything was perfect. Suddenly USB stopped working. It charges via charger but extremely slowly, via PC nothing happens. The biggest crap I have ever seen in a cell phone that class. :/ Of course I don't have warranty. Did they (service) explained why they cancelled your waranty? Did it happended suddenly or it was already in that condition when you received it? Have you dropped it on the ground etc? Any reasonable explanation?
It is propably impossible to update ypur phone OS without working USB transmission. Phone must be run into service mode first, than you can update basband (from what I know and I think I know much, this can be done only by USB cable) required for newer roms. After that and phone being rooted you can flash newer roms directly from SD. I'm "lucky" 'couse I managed to update baseband to .1.54 and Froyo just before that crap stopped working. Ehhhh.....

So i was running Tripnmiui and on baseband .54 and firmware 435?
and I wanted to update to the new SE Gingerbread, So i connected my phone to my computer and ran the update through the SEUS (PC companion). And it installed the update. But when i turned on my phone it kept boot looping the Sony ericsson logo..
I think i bricked my phone..
Anyone know how to unbrick it or fix it from here? with a possible tutorial?
By the way my battery is pretty low on my phone so i only have one shot.

Yea, Use the SEUS/PC Suite tool. Go to Update phone and search for the repair link. Connect the phone in flash mode and it ll get you back to stock.

I would charge the phone first though, for at least like an hour.
U ran update through seus or pc companion??

Cant mount the phone therefore i can't Connect to SEUS
Okay follow these specific instructions (I went through the same thing yesterday when I tried to update to the new Iris ROM)
Connect the phone to your comp and start PC Companion
At the PC Companion Home Screen click on the Start button in the Support Zone Tab
Click start again under the Phone Software Update section
A message that the PC companion could not find the phone will pop up.
Click on the repair phone link there and wait.
It took almost 20 mins but my phone unbricked to Stock 2.1
Sony pc companion fix 80% of bugs
Install sony pc companion
get orginal usb cable connet the phone to laptop or computer click on update if ur on last firmware click on repair and let it install if not update to last firmware and after phone runs connect again then click repair after finish the phone runs with factory default..
Now Overheating problem
Install watchdog lite and see which app cause cpu and actually remove it if its sony app disable it..
Go to setting then more and disable NFC just turn it on when u use it
Now battery problem
Discharge ur battery to 0% now phone well turns off
Put it into charge ( don't turn phone on) wait untill it fully charged then turn on phone do this 2 time every month

i have a tmobile lgv10 running mm. i was having issues with it like constant reloads and sim card not found errors. i unrooted it and flashed stock rom and when it finished flashing stock rom i rebooted it and now it wont turn on. tried 3 fully charged batteries, plugging it to outlet and my pc and still no power. did my phone become a paper weight?
also when i connect it to my pc windows says it cannot connect to device because it has malfunctioned

What version was installed on your device before going back to stock? If it was v20j or 20l and you have installed v20e or lower than it is bricked. You cannot downgrade from v20j
