As Officially announced by Microsoft , Wp 7.5 devices won't be upgradable to WP8 but will be given an update 7.8 which is sad as it doesnt has the same kernel as wp8 has and won't be able to run native apps n games of wp8!!
The point is when we will really get WP 7.8 anyone got an idea? The upgrade is just about customizing homescreen or much more? Are you guys excited about it or still trying to Jailbreak your 7.5?
Considering y-cable and goldcard method which i couldn't afford i dropped down an idea of jailbreaking it ...but 7.8 will bring solace? SHARE YOUR VIEWS
Will we ever get Windows Phone Tango?
update to 7.8
Will it be coming as a custom rom is my question, or do i have to go bach to the standard HTC rom to update to 7.8. Is there even a way to go back to the original HTC rom?
Just flash stock rom and u r ready! (see the omega shipped roms topic). I have no doubt that 7.8 will be both stock and custom rom

ACCORDING TO THIS PICTURE BY MICROSOFT I PRETTY MUCH SEE AN UPDATE TO OUR HTC RADAR FOR SURE

I was a bit disappointed about the fact chaning the kernel and letting 7.x series down!
But anyway! I have another question !
Do you know when will the update will roll out ?

+1 i'm too disappointed about changing the kernel which will further mean less apps and games support for 7.x devices
Anyways , I think WP 7.8 will be released with WP8 or most probablly Q3 2012 ( The third tax quarter begins Sunday, 1 July 2012, and ends Sunday, 30 September 2012 )

I geuss it will take less then a year before the 7.x platform will be dropped.
Microsoft however said they would continue support for at 18 month, we will see.
It's so good!
i hope 7.8 have a lot of features other than new start screen. cant wait to see for the update
I wonder if they will release the update before October is over?

Not that I don't believe the image is coming... but am I the only one who doesn't see anything new in those pictures? It shows update from ROM 2.08 to 2.17 which is the currently posted ROM. What does it have to do with the upcoming 3.xx ROM??
If anything is new it should definitely be the RADIO. If the RADIO is improved from the version already out then we can just use that RADIO on top of our custom ROMS.

LOL...pictures huh? Although I do believe that it will be available tomorrow...those pictures dont mean squat. Those pics have been available for awhile...way before the first report of the upcoming Q1 08 ROM.
I"m assuming this is for sprint only?
"It's coming tomorrow"
Is what I've heard from my Sprint folks as well. Yay!
meh.. I will just wait till dcd cracks it up and tinkers with it anyway.
A guy in the ppcgeeks thread claims he has it and is about to post mirrors. I will probably wait until tomorrow to see what people say but the impatient should keep their eyes over there

Hi there
this is sort of ROM development related, just so happens that the cook is HTC!
just got off the phone with a technical support specialist at HTC and been told that an update to the phone is imminent
just thought i'd give everyone a heads up
Yes, I also recently asked HTC support about update and they said new ROM is going to be released in nearest weeks.
Good news for us, less good news for the ROM cookers.
Now I can't wait for two things, the new Elite RC3 and the new ROM by HTC .
Thanks for the update duke_stix!
yes but what updates is it going to bring maybe winmo 6.5
yeah and wich one gonna be Windows Mobile 7 ??? that also a good quastion we should ask Microsoft are't we???
Doubt that...it'll prob be something we wont even notice!
I don't know what to say.. to another user some guy from HTC costumer service said that a new ROM will be released in december. December passed and no ROM released.. So..
i guess this is some sort of strategy. htc says "we will be releasing a new rom in very short time". And everyone becomes "oh ok then i can live with my problems on my htc pro now, as there ll be a new rom soon." and customer is now happy.

today i phoned htc europe support because i have to return my phone for repairing the g-sensor; by the way i asked if there is also a solution for the gps-lag and he told me that a new rom will come out in the next weeks (there are on testing it actually) and gps will be part of it; i don´t want to comment this statement but maybe a really solution will come ? - lets keep our fingers crossed

By the way

Hmm, I don't believe that nobody from this forum is not on the short list beta users ...
Good man, share with others !!! OEM is enough
Yay! Maybe finally due to a large number of customer complaints about the GPS, and the general lethargic nature of the phone (including music skipping, etc) HTC have decided to fix things. (Wouldn't hold my breath though)
I have called HTC today again to complain about the GPS and other things.
The specialist with whom i talked said to me: A new rom will be available for the EU soon. At the end of februari with fixed GPS. So let's wait ...

yea, they are going to release a new ROM with all the GPS fixes that the great chefs at XDA discovered. We know they pay attention to the forums here, why put in the RnD when all you have to do is see what we did to fix our phones, and implement it

So it was supposed to be "late december" then "january" and now "end of february"....
Well we can't be surprised with lack of support from HTC; it's always been like this. They have a line-up of 25 new phones appearing in 2009. How much time can they allocate to support post-sales problems for each model? Maybe one working day for each model?
well just my 2 cents. i was at att the other day and i saw a guy there from att head quarters testing wm7 in my area. my buddy works there and said they have been testing for a while. i did see it with my own eyes. looks totally different.
wm7 or 6.5?
Looks like HTC has prepped their site with the official Fuze ROM update but showing a release date of 5-28-2009… Hmmm, their going to make us wait? To get the ROM, you will need to enter your device S/N (not accepting mine at the moment so I must also wait)

It is kinda funny.... This is also happening at the AT&T forums. LOL!
I would rather it be a HTC build than an AT&T. You just know that this ATT rom is gonna be like 60% ram usage, and take 5 minutes to turn on.
Cant Beat Da_G's Clean Fuze Rom: 25% memory usage, and boots in >1 minute.
Anyways, just wanted to rant a little.
True... only thing it will be good for is new driver(hopefully) and new radio..
I'll pass
I'm sure this is an update to the "leaked" 6.1 at&t rom anyway, but, I thought most of us have moved onto 6.5? I know I did & wouldn't look back.
You never know, the OEM's could be updated too
It's rather random if you get new OEM's in a ROM or not, i've seen plenty of brand new ones come with ooooold OEM's, and some older ROM's with new ones! lol
/me spins the roulette wheel
Radio Vertion seems interesting
anybody who can help to draw it
My SGP612, Z3 Tablet Compact from Japan(I think, via eBay) 32GB Wifi, has said that it's up to date via the "About Tablet" settings and the Sony software on Windows and Mac ever since I've had it. Never got the 5.0 Lollipop and now the 5.1 is being released and nothing. Is there something easy that I was supposed to do here or does anyone know any little tips or tricks for this? Thanks very much.
Up to date, 5.1 release is only for: Italy and Benelux regions, speaking of model 612.
But you can flash it manually as I did. Works perfectly, though my region is Central Europe.

Agreed we shouldn't have to but things don't always work out that way.
It is great that we have options and contributors such as @sebarkh to step in with advice that I would never figure out on my own.
I am in the UK and likewise watching out for the update. If it fails to materialise OTA then I am reassured that there is a manual solution. But so far I am very impressed by what Sony is doing both in terms of hardware offerings and ongoing software support. Samsung needs to take heed.

You're definitely right. I'll eventually stop being lazy and just do it myself for sure, just hoping I won't have to. I do really like what Sony is doing too. Hoping for a Z4/5 Ultra this year! Thanks for your help guys!
Luckily the 5.1 update came today for me over wifi, which was nice cause I didn't feel like using the desktop software. Looks great!
Just wondering if I am alone in waiting on the UK OTA update to 5.1.1?
If, for some reason, I have missed the boat then I shall follow sebarkh's advice and use XperiFirm. Otherwise I am happy to wait a while longer for Sony to get round to us.
Hi, I am now able to answer my own question. Yesterday Sony OTA upgraded my UK OS to v5.1.1
So I can defer rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands dirty and possibly voiding my warranty for a while. The need for Root is becoming quite pressing though.
Just stay on 4.4 because the 5.1.1 update sucks! There is no change regarding the throttling issue when brightness is above 50% or when you have automatic brightness activated so, the intermitent lag is stiil present.
Sent from my SGP611 using XDA Free mobile app
It solved all of the bugs that effected me though. :/
No throttling for me anymore on 5.1.1

What the hell is it with people turning into complete morons because an update is not coming instantly?
Is your Nougat not working? Are there thousands of bugs that require an instant oreo update?
And yes, I am SURE the marketing intern having to read all the "OMG OREO PLZ OR IMA CUT YOU" spam will walk right up to the CEO of LG and tell him "Listen here, buddy.. these people want Oreo, we better get Luis from development to sh*t out a ROM by tomorrow morning".
What's the hell........this will be my first and last LG phone....i was a Sony Lover for the past 12 years..........in terms of update Sony is the best.
give it to me
Same situation as mine, was Sonyboy since 2005, and G6 first and the last non-Sony phone, and we were unpleased with Sony's update speed!
The same for me, Sony since 2011 and Xperia X8. Now G6. Sony was almost always disappointing in terms of update policy and G6 was not so bad when it had 7.0... still hoping for LG to slightly speed up the update process for their phones and keeping my fingers crossed

i had a Xperia SP that was amazing phone best phone i had easy for flash stock and custom roms 2 years updates included minors updates but my big mistake was turning to LG phones very low updates and low customers support...they just want to sell only in all way
I just received the ore update for my LG G6 H870S.
This Forum is transforming into Bobs and Vegena Trash Talk.
These are clearly very emotional reactions.
Few people hold onto a phone these days for more than 2-3 years anyway.
Therefore updates are simply unimportant in the overall usefulness of the phone
Even the security updates in that time span don't make much of a practical difference.
Updates are mostly hype, mostly cosmetic changes, with minor feature updates and under the hood changes that don't really impact people day to day
Mainly they are needed to take advantage of new hardware on the latest models.
When you buy any other electronic device, like a refrigerator or TV, do you expect "updates" for your device?
Do we scream to Westinghouse, "why aren't you sending me new and updated shelves and motors for my fridge every year?"
Time to take a breath, a little perspective
If the phone works well and you can use all the harware features, that would seem to be enough....
