That will come up to over 400$ plus in one month plus the current charges, anyways I called them today to see if they can add international charges, (I also said that I had ask for it before leaving to Mexico) and they actually help me with 325$ so I ma pay 75$ extra which ain't great but better then nothing, just want to give the heads up in case anyone else gets in this kind of trouble
Next time I'm just gonna take my unlocked iPhone and get a sim card for it over there, I wish the evo could be use with SIM tho
UPDATE
here is a pic they fixed 75$ definitely worth from what I used but ill be smart next time about it

Yeah, always use local services. In't roaming on every carrier worldwide is nuts.

This is standard with nearly all carriers. You should have checked the rates before you turned on mobile data. I'm glad they cut you some slack on the price, but to be honest this isn't "screwed up", you should have known better.

Using your phone on vacation? And FB? Not much of a vacation.
One of the best weeks of my life was a vacation to Mexico where I left my phone off in the suitcase for 5 days. No phone. No computer. Nothing. It was the best.

What is it usually?
Same happened to me yesterday... 1.6m got all excited thinking it improved.. until I got home... It usually ranges from 20-60k to 200k... If it good it can go to 300-400k

For me the BEST during the day maybe 300 or 250 dl and about the same for upload. Makes me really sad the only limitation this phone really has is the network.

No kidding, man. I can't say I have ever seen my phone above 400K on 3G before.... Kinda blows, really. Sprint is all concerned with taking away perks, the least they could do with that extra money is improve their terrible network. I remember in '09, sprint was way better than this.

Seriously...Can't even use the so called unlimited data when speeds are obnoxiously slow. It's like promising an all you can eat buffet but with minimal food. To give Sprint credit though, the 3G speeds in Philadelphia were awesome. I also got a taste of what WiMax had to offer and was impressed with 11mbps.
If they promised faster speeds with the condition of reducing unlimited to say 5GB a month, I'd be ecstatic. Anything to even match the speeds Verizon or any of the GSM carriers get.

Unfortunately, Sprint is over $5 billion in debt. The merger with Nextel and lack of iPhone were a disaster. A big outside investor like Dish Network, Google, etc. should buy out Sprint/Clearwire and build out their networks.
In india the max speed reached on my 3g was 5017kbps and generally i get around 3170kbps

Maybe but something needs to happen fairly soon or I may just end up switching to big red even at their very high costs.

im actually seeing my speeds consistently around 800-1400kbps DL for over a month now, I used to use verizon PRL's because i would never see much better than 600kbps, But now im on 21083 that came with my 3d... it seems like they really are doing something with 3G, at least around here..
i have a feeling its gonna get better . only way i leave sprint is if they dead unlimited data
Greetings from Denmark
Sorry to see such crappy speeds

Ever since sprint got the iPhone, bandwidth has gone to crap. It's that simple. That's why they didn't get the iPad.. already strained 3g network.

So lte phones will be out soon, but when will we have lte service?

unlimited, on a limited network. Look how much 4g verizon, att has. I believe sprint has the smallest footprint when it comes to 4g. I know I'll probably never see it in West Virginia.
I use to have 5 lines with Sprint on their everything family plan. I've winded down to 2 and in May it'll be 0. Their data's slow, in DC. To load Google Maps to find a place near you took a couple of minutes. It was embarrassing.
Sprint - 2 Smartphone lines, $150 (unlimited data)
ATT - 2 smartphone lines, $150 (3gb data)
VZ - 2 smartphone lines, $150 (4gb data)
All our texts go via Google Voice for over a year now....
Honestly, when I hear unlimited, I'm really hearing "slow."
Why does everyone hate sprints data? Its always been AMAZING for me, 3G is always atleast 1mbps can sometimea get up around 1.8, I have 4g in my home town and ive gotten it in quite a few other states for example mississippi, missouri, etc.. I usually get around 8-10 mbps on 4g nd I knoe thats not up to speed with lte but thats more than ill ever need haha besides ive used their network to download over 15gbs of movies in the same week before and that really puts their unlimited plan to use!

I know that they already do, when I signed up for them they told me that this fee was because of the 4G connectivity. So now I am wondering if this is going to be charged when you use an LTE phone?

changed from a 4g fee to a smartphone fee ages ago...so if your LTE phone is a smartphone (always will be) $10 you pay yes?
I really hate that verizon told me that they were shipping my phone to me via fed ex even though I went into the store to preorder. I now have to wait for fed ex to drop it off so I am on their time until it arrives. why have a store that just makes me order it the same way I can do it myself. I would much rather have the phone in my hands at 8am when they open on wednesday morning not 2pm when the fed ex driver gets done eating lunch.
other things that irritated me about the preorder experience.
1. they dont accept Cash
2. they tried to make me sign the ipad for my receipt... I made them print me one and give me a pen (just to be a prick more than anything)
3. $30 upgrade fee? wtf is that... once I get the phone I'm going to call and get that removed since its a bogus charge for a 13year VZW customer... you dont even need to call and activate anymore all I need to do is swap my sim from my nexus and put it in the DNA so I'll ask them what the $30 covers cause its not VZW store employees who are accepting my order and helping me "activate" or set up my phone which they shipped to my house.
did anyone else preorder instore? or did everyone else order online?
I'm not sure why you would pre-order today as you won't get it for 2 days, if you wanted to pick it up at 8AM in store why didn't you just wait until tomorrow and go in and get it? I never heard of anyone pre-ordering in store.
Also, Verizon has been charging the $30 upgrade fee for a while now, but only if you buy it subsidized.
I preordered last week on Wednesday... I always do it in store cause I always upgrade a different line than my data line... Call me old fashioned but every once in a while I like to interact with other people and not a computer.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
sucks. That's why I didn't bother to pre-order. I'm just going to go when they open at 8 tomorrow.
I pre-ordered it last wednesday as well. Still no update. :/
My tracking just updated... I might get it today if it comes before work... No one knows about this phone other than people who follow android so I doubt you will have a problem walking in and getting it.

Best news I've seen all day.
You don't have to go by FedEx time. Have them hold it at the station so you can go pick it up when they open.

I'm the same way, I always go to the store to order new phones and accessories.
My question though was why you drove to the store to pre-order it when you could have just driven there tomorrow morning instead and know that you can just pick it up then and there.
anyone else around Ocean County/on the shore of NJ experiencing that huge verizon outage? it's weird bc the samsung devices of my coworkers would stay on 1x moreso than mine..i'd get 0 bars and "no service." wonder if they do that so it doesn't drain as much battery..
anyway it's been since like 3pm and STILL no service at all over here. sucks.
*edit*
just got through finally...apparently a fiber line somewhere was cut, and 38 towers in NJ are down. damn, that's crazy. they've been working on it since around 3pm and have NO eta for when service will be back.
That sucks. Hit them up for a nice credit on your bill.

There are alot of apps that block content, or just plain dont work on rooted devices. Really the only diff is vzw's tells you why and how to fix. It's funny listening to all the "leave vzw" remarks; awesome coverage, speed, and great CS, yeah who wants to keep all that. I've found that as long as i pay my bill ontime, i have had zero issues with them, including 3 phone replacements, two of which were returned modified, not even a whisper from them about it.

lol yea, and you pay for all that hype too.
i get the same great coverage, some times better, on FI, and my bill is $50 less a month, including a new phone on payment plan.
im not denying vzw has good service or data, had them for a verrrry long time. just no point in throwing money away any more, when there not the only good game in town.
That may be true where you live, or cities, but vzw covers rural as good or better then others, and i dont begrudge the cost for coverage. Not sure how well if at all FI would work in seOK.

i live about 30min outside of the city and it works fine, work in i a big city, where it works better than vzw. the building penetration isnt even comparable, its so much better.
there are maps that will show you coverage, and it would actually cost you less than $10 to try it with a device for a week to see how it works.
im not trying to convince you to switch, just throwing out some facts. i dont agree with the rationale of ill keep paying more because i dont want to see if there is anything as good for less.
...but its your money, and just my opinion.
But, my Verizon G3, vs985, is not Project Fi compatible, is it ? So I cannot switch to Fi, with my Verizon phone, which is the topical phone of this sub-board, right ?
I can, though, with my Nexus 6.
Just get it clear in your head that until Verizon starts thinking their draconian lock-down policies are actually hurting their bottom line, they will just keep tightening the screws on their customers.

i save the equivalent of 3 new phones every 2 years since switching, so yea, its real inconvenient i cant use any of the vzw phones i have.
I saw that too with my G3. What I did was to install it on my Nexus 9 tablet and tether my phone to it. Its nice to kill time on the train ride home.
