Hi Guys,
ColorOS camera is a really good camera app coming from oppo find7 device. It include a lot of features using plugins.
Actually a port for 1+1 device exists, you can install this port but you'll get really low resolution pictures.
So I took this port and modified it with the help of the original dev @BOOTMGR (a huge thanks!) to fit Xiaomi Mi3/Mi4 camera resolution (13.1MPx instead of 13MPx).
As Camera apps with custom roms gives bad quality this app improves photography experience a lot!
Working features :
-Video (480p, 720p, 720p slow motion, 1080p, 4K)
-Some plugins (Double exposure, Expert mode with manual controls -except manual focus, still working on it-, GIF camera)
-Front Camera
-Incredible fast burst mode up to 60 pictures (keep shutter button pressed)
-Changing resolution
-HDR now thanks to @linuxxxx
Not working features :
-Some plugins (50MPx shots, Panorama, Beautify, Slow shutter, RAW Capture, refocus mode)
-Tracking focus
-More than 2s exposure with Mi3 (Hardware limitation)
To do :
-fixing improper preview that is 16:9 with 13MPx instead of 4:3 (really hard) that shoud fix incorrect thumbnail size (thumbnail are deformated)
How to install? :
Install OppoCamera2.xx.apk as normal apk
Install plugins as normal apk (I'll provide only working plugins, and some that I'm unsure)
Inside camera app if plugins are not present clic on the circles (bottom left) and add them within "Camera Shop"
Changelog :
2.14
-Finally totally get rid of the camera autoclose setting
-Added a new version for Ivan's AOSP Marshmallow rom as max resolution was different than lollipop, previous version lead to 170x146 output picture size (Correct capture preview size/ratio)
2.13
-Removed auto close setting as it wasn't doing anything
-Set default auto close to 24H (as 3 minutes was not enough for a time lapse)
-Added Timed Shots steps ( 1000 2000 3000 4000 pictures and removed some small numbers, just kept one that can be useful for group pictures and added higher values for time lapse)
-Added Time Delay (to allow long exposure time lapse, example 9s for 8s exposure)
-Creating a new apk that set jpegquality to 85% for both normal and fast burst shot filename is OppoCamera_2.13_jpeg85.apk
2.12
-Fix crash that was occuring when you close and reopen the app.
-Removed denoise option as it wasn't doing anything
2.11
-Bug Fixes from Infinityplus
-Added Wavelet Noise reduction toggle (need some tests)
-removed redeye reduction toggle as it’s not working (always double flash even when disabled)
-removed chroma flash as it’s not working (took comparision with MIUI chroma flash)
-change ZSL (Zero Shutter Lag) toggle comportment to work without closing and opening the app again. Now it need just a dumb capture to disable or enable the option (can’t do more)
2.1
- Rebased to latest ColorOS app
- UI tweaked for smoother response
- Added latest changes from andriman's app
- Added a few fixes from bootmgr
- All plugins updated to latest versions.
- Filter plugin preview bug fixed
-Tweaked ProfessionalCamera pugin with option for ISO 3200 (previous was only 1600 max)
2.04
-Max burst mode capture set to 60 pictures (speed is around 6 capture per second)
-Default back camera resolution set to 2Mpx to avoid small output resolution on Mi3
2.03
-Chroma Flash toggle added (testing)
-Tap shutter toggle added (tap screen to focus and imediately capture a picture without touching shutter button)
-Set jpeg quality to 100% for normal capture mode (instead of 85% wich is system default value) and fastburst mode (instead of 75%, tested it doesn't makes fast burst slower), pictures are bigger but better quality
-Removed some useless icon (like ISO HJR)
2.02
-Switched to @infinityplus port from @andriman tweaked Oppo app : http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/themes-apps/coloros-camera-port-t3034148 More option, more toggle in quick setting, smaller apk
-Added some resolution for front camera
-Antibanding Feature
-Video quality setting
-More effect
-Record audio from external microphone
-And so on
2.01
-Fix impossible to change capture resolution
-Added iso 3200 option
-Not working video record option removed

For latest Marshmallow rom users HDR might not work anymore with this app, you can flash this zip (and each time you update your rom) to get it back working with this app and Snap Camera (it will break AOSP camera and Marshmallow google camera, but still work on Lollipop google camera.
This zip also detete ZSL forced off for other shot than HDR, so you can use this setting again.

All credit goes to @BOOTMGR for this thread and his very appreciated help.
@andriman for tweaked version and @infinityplus for porting it and helping me .
A special thanks to @marko94 for testing it on Mi3!

Weird it works for me, maybe because Mi3 and Mi4 have different sensors.
Edit : see screens hit for next version, possibility to set picture resolution. Will try to get more stuff working.

That's weird I have plenty of resolution...
Btw I'm still a newbie with app edition.
Edit : can someone else test and report. I may have made a bad modification in one translation file.
Edit 2 : try to change your system language (exact English, from us, UK...?) . And tell me which one you're using. I may know where error comes from.

Will Nokia 7 plus get google camera port for hdr+and ZSL without root
Have you tried installing the latest gcam apk port?
No if gcam works well I'll consider buying the phone it is not yet released in India
Google Camera port working fine, download it from the link

Can confirm that the Arnova8G2 based mods are working on my new Nokia 7 plus.
Yesterday a new version (GoogleCamera-Pixel3Mod) was released, with some UI and speed improvements (at higher HDR+ parameter) I noted.
XDA link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76235335&postcount=3541
The Nokia camera app doesn't come even close to the results of the gcam mods.
I noticed often a very high exposure in daylight and much more noisier in low light (agressive ISO ramp up) settings.

Like the Nokia Camera I can only choose between different resolutions of 4K, 1080p, 720p but not the framerate.
I didn't find any setting in the dev options either. Maybe there is a tweak within the gcam mod I'm not aware of, to change the framerate (chipset should support this) but the testvideo I recorded is at 30FPS.

@RolloBollo, Would you mind if you could make some shots at night or in evening, so that we can clearly see the differences between the GCam and Nokia Camera Pro at low light condition?
Is there any reason to believe that the Pixel camera app apk would also bring 4k video stabilization to the table on the Nokia 7 plus in a usefull way? This phones seems to tick every box except that one...
I`ve seen a video of stabilization via the pixel app done on the Xiaomi A1, but the results were merely meh. The nokia however has a more capable snapdragon 660.

Can do, first set is 30min before, 2nd set 25 min after and 3rd set 40min after sunset with slight light from apartment above.
All shots were made free hand in auto mode with HDR forced.
The nokia cam tends to be more inconsistent over follow up shots, the best out of 3 shots were choosen.
Lighting to the real thing is always closest on gcam, but both are overexposing in low light settings, bringing in more light than in reality was.
Can we directly install gcam APK in Nokia 7 plus or we have to enable camera2api to get access of it if so how to enable camera2api

Maybe try it again on a desktop PC, sounds like the transfer was corrupted. You have obviously allow installation of APKs from other sources first.

I got the same error using the link directly from Google Drive. I downloaded the apk via browser and I installed it just fine.
The Pixel2mod and the Pixel3mod version gave me strange color artefacts in every picture(but not in de live viewfinder). The previous version, named GCam, works however just fine.

So it has been awhile since I tinker with Gcam, and now that I have finished the modding of it and no longer have my Mix 3, I will upload the final copy of Gcam. As usual thanks to everyone from defcomg, cstark27, san1tyy, xtreme, bsg, zoran.
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1rBUkxfz2IlG_0SGaTlJ2G6mL-16Bx8LY
Changelog:
-added corrected black level for most shots. Bl corrected for 1/30 shutter so you will have slight tint on slow shutter at extreme low light conditions.
-modified xlib2 to remove tint, and noise
-new menu and icons
Bugs:
-sometimes hdr+ enhanced at 40 frames or 36 frames will not save the first shot, but shot afterwards will save. Tried to find a fix but cannot so use lower frames for most stability, ie.. 25 or so.
Feb 7th, 2019
Update: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1IKGyubiBrdqWVp_gQfmTLaA8HErtoyk7
-added lens blur mode courtesy of san1tyy to take picture of objects and animals
Recommended settings:
-Rear camera set to Pixel 3 XL
-Processing set to 2018 zslr hdr+
-set frames to 40 for min and max for best low light shot (will take some time to process), or set to 20 for both for quick shots
-hdr+ enhance and night sight set min iso compensation to 1/3 or 1/4 s for best shot, but hands have to be still as possible
-exposure compensation to +0.6
-chose Xlib for lib choice
So several have stated that shutter isn't working on global rom, and some other Mix flagship such as Mix 2/2S doesn't work so with help from san1tyy, metadata was cleaned up and should be working now
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1hu9tm0ZSMI3F645rSr2wXq3HhMRP5DUp
Feb 4th, 2019
After bunch of trials and error, lib modding here and there, finally got a working stable version with some new changes with help from Zoran, Savitar, Xtreme, and San1tyy . Lib modding for awb using different calibrations from various devices would not play nice due to either unsaturated or nuclear saturation, especially from S9 series, so I just left it stock for now. Here's the new apk: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1scOaLD8_eeZEdlaR6q1lCXzUSLtb6miB
Changes:
-added compensation exposure
-new lib (Xlib) with sharpened decreased
-frames changed to 40 instead of 45 due to exif cache size error and won't save image
-qc color awb works finally without the yellow tint, thanks big time to Savitar
-UI changes
enjoy guys and donation are welcome so I can get more devices to work on. Paypal: [email protected]
The iso slider had an issue, and wouldn't capture. Also sabre and pixel 3 awb was not included so this version is updated to include it
https://drive.google.com/open?id=11ORyhdqIjFXNlZFsdfA0NDEW8auU3aNr
So sliders had some issue of not triggering for both iso and focus. After multiple test trials, san1tyy and defcomg pulled through again and got it working! APK is also cleaned up to only include Edzman v3, savitar v2, and stock google libs. Enjoy guys.

Make sure you are on the latest global beta from Xiaomi, or the latest beta from xiaomi.eu for camera not to lag in viewfinder and processing HDR+. This mod is based on BSG's latest version with working telephoto lens. Thanks to the great defcomg, xtreme and san1tyy over at telegram, here are the changes:
-added 45 frames, and 50 frames. The 50 frames will cause viewfinder to flicker like crazy but it does works.
-removed ISO limit of 9600 because stock camera can go up to 19000+ iso
-long exposure added for up to 32 seconds in hdr+ enhanced and night sight
-manual focus sliders and exposure sliders
Slo motion should work, motion photo do not work because of lib issue from xiaomi. For configs, use Pixel XL for rear camera, processing use 2018 zlsr+, front camera can use Pixel 3 XL. Using Pixel XL gives correct awb vs Pixel 3 XL which gives a true to life color at night time with low lighting (ie.. 5 to 10 lux).

Any news on the global stable update?
I find the Xiaomi forums a pain to navigate otherwise would check myself heh.
Hi xterminater07, Thanks for your work! Its impressive! I use this version of gcam for my LG G6 and works great but I have some doubts about the 32s long exposure. Could you tell me what file inside the gcam package can I modify to try other configurations? I decompile the apk but I cant find where the parameters are for the amount of seconds depending on the lux. Thanks!!!
PD: Sorry for my bad english
All the lags and slowness disappeared after the latest global update (received the ota and updated an hour ago), now when I tried night Sight, taking multiple shots in a row etc etc there are no lags whatsoever anymore for me!
I was just about to flash the EU rom to fix the lags but no need anymore!

I noticed that it does not work for small objects, but works well with people. I guess the subject has to be far enough for portrait mode to actually work.
Regarding the telephoto lens, there seems to be no noise reduction applied to it, unlike the main lens. This results in very grainy photos especially during the night. Can you add noise reduction, or an option for it for both lenses in the settings? Thanks

have you tried clicking on the resulting image, if you open it, you will see a blurred one and the non-blurred editions.
so the resulting image is like a folder that when you open, it will have the blurred edition inside it.
Ive discovered that the newest Gcam port from the Pocophone thread also works on our Mix 3! It has more options like save in camera folder when taking portrait shots and so on... Everything works, is there any downside using it?

(pull down from anywhere). That 16:9 format doesn't make sense though - at least not for P3 users...
Thanks...i will try it out....

Switch from 16:9 to 4:3
Does anybody have a link to the modded gcam7 with the astrophotography option? I don't understand why developers don't let us try it out...

It is already in (Google Cam 7.)
It is automatically inside night vision you just have to set the focus to Infinity and than make a Foto. Tada! There is no special button or option for astrophotography.

Wrong the phone needs to be on a tripod as well
So can you film in 4K 60fps with this?

It requires Live-HDR+ which relies on the new neural core, which the pixel 3 is lacking.

Maybe we'll get a simplified version of the feature...
Just found out that Astrophotography is already on that release. If you are in Night Sight and put your phone somewhere steady (for example on a tripod), it will automatically kick in.
cheers
Can someone confirm a better low light image picture quality as seen with Pixel 4? With new GCAM of Pixel 4 images in low light seem to be sharper and light sources are less blown out. Thanks!

There's only a significant difference, if you put it on a steady holder (and use astrophotography)
