Hi guys, I have a previously-simlocked Xperia Ray, with no fastboot and a locked bootloader. I have been searching continuously, but i can't find a free way to unlock, or enable fastboot. I am on JJrom 3.1, with a stock kernel. If there is a free way can you help? Also, i looked and can't get my head round the testpoint. I connect the testpoint to the ground, what ground? I would love some help because the stock kernel is starting to be slow and i would like to overclock.
Thanks in advance

According to me, regular test point method doesn't enable fastboot. It can be done only via paid software.
And about test point and ground, there are lots of photos on the internet. Search the one, that is about your phone.

Hi xda members,
first of all i've read through tons of post, searched google for an hour. Now I hope for your help. I own a "Sony Ericcson Xperia Mini Pro" (model number SK17i) running Android 2.3.3 (Kernel 2.6.32.8-perf, build number 4.0.A.2.335). It's branded by Orange Austria. I'm looking for a way to root it, but all I could find doesn't help.So far i've read the thread on rooting my phone and followed the guide mentioned there. That doesn't work as planned.
The problem seems to be the branding. Fastboot won't recognize my device since I'm not able to unlock the boot loader. The phone just goes to normal charging mode, when I press [volume up] while connecting the usb cable.
Hence my question: Is there a workaround to unlock the bootloader or an alternative way of rooting? I looked and found solutions for older Xperia phones with brandings and tried what I could. No success.
I would appreciate any help. Just point me into the right direction. Thanks!
Edit: So I found a post on unlocking the bootloader using the device's testpoint. According to one post he succeded in unlocking his orange branded phone. Unforunately some of the information there 404 so I can't reproduce that. Plz help!
Edit2: Now I'm a step futher. Problem now is that s1tool dies after the disconnect testpoint step. Any suggestions?
So this is where I'm stuck:
imageshack . us/photo/my-images/829/freezeu.png/
Weird URL due to new users not allowed to post outside links. I removed the testpoint and waited. Am I supposed to do something else? At one go I tried the [volume down] stuff with and without connected battery. That didn't help.
So for branded phones with *#*#7378423#*#* (service) -> "Service Info"-> "Configuration" -> "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" there is now way to unlock the bootloader?
Hi, I came from X8 section so I dont really know how things work around here in X10MP section. My problem is, how safe it is to unlock my bootloader because one of my X8 has been bricked because of it, what i mean is hard bricked that is not recoverable by home remedies, it needs JTAG and I have paid alot for it. So I am afraid and sensitive when it comes to Bootloader unlocking, I read the faq's, sticky, and guide here and use search, but no luck. Im kinda annoyed that no one confirms or warns if it is safe or not in FAQ/Stickies, when I first unlock my first x8 it worked out well so I did not bother unlocking my 2nd x8, unfortunately it did bricked(hard). The X10MP that I have is 12w17 MFC, so is it safe? it is past 11w29, so to say in X8 it is not safe IDK in X10MP. Thanks in advance.
EDIT1: I Fiddled abit in this phone, IDK if this is the confirmatory that were looking for, this is what i found:
BTW-Im on stock rom and stock kernel so i have this service mode or something like that
1. Enter *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialer then call
2. Go to Service info
3. Go to Configuration
4. At the lower most entry, there is something that says:
-Rooting Status:
Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
Is this the answer that we need? or it is all in MFC date? my X10MP is 12w17.
EDIT2: I guess, I did answer my question, the confirmatory is this http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
The supporting details is EDIT1, BTW thanks for nothing
So I am pretty new to android stuff and don't really know a lot. I rooted this phone, and saw somewhere that you have to unlock the bootloader to get custom roms. I went to work to find out how to do that, and tried to unlock it. When I would enter the command it would just show three dots and would not load anything else, and it wouldn't let me try codes again. It was stuck with those three dots. I also had this app that said bootloader: unknown. Do I have to unlock the bootloader? If yes, how? Are there even any roms that could work on this phone? Thanks.
Hi.
I have HTC Desire V with total black screen, but touch working well.
It totally stock phone with no USB debugging and else.
I want to use it as wifi webcamera. can somebody help to do that?
i tried to unlock bootloader and think it done - there at most right spot where some lines visible and i saw, like in manual (how to unlock bootloader) confirmation about unlocking bootloader after adb work, so bootloader is unlocked. what else i can do? i tried to enable usb debugging through adb, but it says "error: remote not allowed". think there s-on active, but cant make it offline - it not allowing me to flash new recovery. thanks for any help. i read a lot here on xda about similar problems, but nothing found that help me. thanks again!
No help indeed...
Looks like all much more complicated.....
Hey XDA fam! wishing i had good news on root for the ZTE grand x max 2 but i havent found any answers and i am at a loss.. Given that the Boot Loader can be unlocked in the developer settings i thought that it would be wide open for a simple root but with my moderate to minimal knowledge of Linux i could only do soo much without finally reaching out to the community. Does anyone have a way of rooting this device that i am missing? ive tried:
Kingroot
SuperSU
Kingo root(both APK and Windows)
Towel Root
1click..
but none seem to be compatible.
thanx in advance!
WiFi tether achieved no root
I'm using FoxFi 2.15.2 pro with att apn and cricket apn just install and run tether:good::good:
Well sorry to say, but rooting this is way off down the road. Without unlocking the bootloader, and no that oem unlock does not unlock it, its just the first step to unlocking the bootloader. And seeing as that Cricket has been removing fastboot from their newly released phones we have a real struggle on our hands. I also have the lg stylo 2 from Cricket, and not only did they remove fastboot, they removed the entire bootloader. And without fastboot unlock, that bootloader is useless right now, need another way around. But from what i have read, FTM mode does have a form of fastboot built into it if anyone can figure out how to use. Has anyone had the nerve to take it apart and look for the Uart pinouts, if thats on the mother board thats our way in, Uart means instant rom dump and flash, hacker 101....

Wow you are really knowledgeable.
You have just given more information on a phone than anyone has in almost 2 years.
I've taken this phone apart already to change the screen. What am I looking for? I have to change the screen again.......let me know.
