battery only 1500mA? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi, i have a galaxy s3 and its been charging fine and the battery seems to last ok aswel, but i just got the battery monitor widget app from the play store and it says my battery capacity is only 1500mA, but i thot it was a 2100mA battery that came with the s3,
can anyone tell me why it says this? is the battery monitor wrong? or do i need to calibrate my battery or something?

Yeah, the widget/app is wrong. These definitely have a 2100mAH battery.

Change the battery capacity to 2100mah in settings.

Battery temp reading location in phone?

Where does the phone get the battery temperature? Is the sensor in the phone or battery? Is it actually battery temp or CPU temp?

I'm pretty sure it's the battery. All phones out have a temp monitor on the battery for safety purposes I'm pretty sure.

Since you think it's battery temp, where is that sensor located?
I purchased the 2200mah battery that is found on ebay and I noticed that the temp is rock solid between 24-26C. With the OEM it would fluctuate between 24-37C. Is the OEM battery defective?
nope, the oem battery is ok. I had it at 57C
tell me plz, what is the real capasity of 2200? is it same as original battery? or much less?
p.s. the sensor is inside the battery.

Seems like it drains a little quicker than the stocker. I need to use it a little longer to see. I'm guessing the temp reading is probably suspect.

Need an extended Battery

I kno wand understand that a million threads on batteries already exist, however I wanted to be as specific as possible and see what you all can recommend.
I'm looking for a batter that's between 2000-2300mah and that will work with the standard charger/USB cable, and not cause my phone to go into SOD or boot loops, and that has NFC capabilities just as the stock standard battery does
Also I'd like this battery to be ~$50 or less
and above all it's be very nice if it fits into the phone without any modifications and or having to replace the back cover with another one.
I'm sure such a battery has to exist, just haven't seen it yet.
Please help me on my quest.
Thanks!
I've been looking for the same thing. Only difference is I couldn't care less about it having an NFC chip or not.
Thank you.
Only one i can think of would be the Korean official extended. But like the thread says the back has to be modded
I will let you know if the battery I bought on ebay works. I asked the seller for specifications. I will let you know.

last night I did changed some settings on my phone, like not using network for location,no automatic sync, Juice defender Ultimate settings,Voltage Control Mv settings done. I freeze Gmail with titanyum backup pro. Do not remember if did anything else but today I have used 17h7m43s on battery and still has 64%. Huge increment of battery life detected!
i will keep this settings backed up with tytanium backup just incase.

Those settings seem a little too aggressive for my taste. I use gmail quite a bit and I also like that the network finds my location rather than the GPS. I'm hardly ever on wi-fi and I have automatic sync going every 3hrs I think.
My phone lasts about 16-20hrs on average. and I'm ok with that, just would like better results as I'm seeing some pull about 2days of life out of their devices.

Download any free Battery calibrator you can find, from Google store.
it will most probably fix your wrong battery readings.
ps. you may need to have a rooted device for the calibrators to work, but i think (i'm not sure)there is one (don't remember the name) that works with an unrooted phone.
Yes battery calibrator neeeds superuser permissions

I have one more question for you
I installed app named "Battery Doctor"
And in this app, after the normal charge is written:
Trickle Charge
Maintain the liquidity of electrons to extend battery life
And the question is
Trickle Charge really extend the battery life or not?
Second question
I blocked screen, but on the stats it looks, like screen was active for 25 mins, but screen was still locked
Is there any way to check what app cause activity of screen?
Sygnał sieci komórkowej=Cellular signal
Aktywność=Activity
Ekran włączony= Screen on
Ładowanie=Charging

Do you really think that you can "MAINTAIN LIQUIDITY OF ELECTRONS" with an app????????
No no, in this app is section "battery charge" and there are 3 steps - quick charge - 0-80% continuos charge - 80-100% and this trickle charge - 30 min of charging after 100%
And in my question I mean is this 30 min of charging after 100% really extend the battery life, not this app xD
The problem with battery backs
Today i have 68% battery then 0 % after turnon, 20%
It's after calibration
What may i do?

[Q] Battery Loss

Hi.
I've got 2 Galxy S2 with the same problem.
This is what happens.
Booth phones with 60% of battery or more, if i shut down, remove the battery and wait about 5 seconds, then put it back.
My battery returns to 20% or less.
Tried with new batterys, different rom's (cm11, omni, stock), reseted the chip fuel gauge.
Has anyone ever seen this happen?
Is driving me crazy.
Thanks.
Had the same issue. Posted it here. As my battery was 2.5 yrs old I was suggested to get a new one.
With new battery not facing it anymore.
Anyone else ?
What happens if you don't remove the battery? Does it drain normally?
Also, have you tired different chargers / cables?

You probably bought a fake or a faulty one, there isn't anything you can do except return it.
The battery isn't fake or faulty, I rulled that out. The problem is in the monitoring, it's not reading the mah correctly. It says 12% on the bar menu but the mah stands on -178(thats right negative!!).
I just need to reset the mah count. Can anyone help me?
And I'm not trying to improve my battery life I've already done that.

If you have rooted your phone, try flashing another ROM or just flash the same ROM again. Factory reset and clear all caches.
If not, try doing a factory reset on your phone.
