Yup - there's a lot of great things happening with Ace, so we wanted to put it back on the main index.
Most of the carriers in Asia just released the Galaxy Ace this May 2011 and June 2011. That's probably why we're seeing greater activity now for the Ace than before.

in Malaysia i can say it is one of the hottest mid range android phone~
i saw a lot of people around me using this and also me

To answer your question:
- I flashed Faux's kernel and overclocked my phone to 1.73GHz. I bought an Anker battery (1900 mah). It gives it a lot more juice.
- Extended Control widgets helps a lot as well.
- You can download Crackle to stream movies / tv shows
- MyBackup Pro backs up your apps/data so if you wanna switch to different ROMs, you can easily put them back.
- WiFi Tether is helpful as well.
- If you wanna root or whatever, you can use my toolkit. It is in my signature. Very helpful.
- XDA app does the job for checking a specific forum.

I too just got a Amaze 4G and upgraded from a Nexus One. This new phone is pretty cool but I wish the UI was more like the Nexus One.
My Nexus One broke a couple months back and I'd been borrowing a friends G1 ever since, I got a flier in the mail offering me an upgrade and after looking at what phones T-Mobile had I went for the Amaze.
I'm thinking about getting one of those PowerSkin cases for it.
The Skyrocket got a unofficial leak of the ICS build, so I was wondering whether that would help us with creating new ICS roms or anything, since the Skyrocket and Note have similar hardware.

I think this thread beat that one by 90 minutes. But, I think the Skyrocket ROM won't be all that useful, and I suspect there will be a Note ICS leak coming shortly.

sorry man, that's really weird, i searched q&a AND this thread and didn't see anything so i posted. I'm really sorry :/
I am running paradoid android... and i installed nitro touchdown and I was configuring my email account and now my phone randomly turned off and just black screen and vibrates? any ideas
So i think the nitro thing may have been a coincidence it seems to have been a battery issue. I bought some supposed OEM samsung spare batteries for my note. Model number on them are EB615268VU where the original is EB615268VA putting the original back in i can boot right away the oem i bought from mobilefun.com wont turn on I had been using it for a better part of the day. Anyone have any similiar experiences?

I sold my S2 because the screen was broken but now I'm thinking about buy another one.
My doubt is, should I buy another SII or instead go for the Gnexus?
SII - > 250€
Galaxy Nexus -> 275€
Both are new phones and I have the chance to buy for a great price.
I know many of you will say "go for Nexus 4" but it isn't coming to Portugal soon and I need a phone ASAP (nexus 4 is out of stock 4 life).
I know pros and cons of both, but they look very similar and my kind of use fits the both.
My question is, with these prices, which phone would you go?
I have s2 but i'm for gnexus, why? because of larger hd screen, opensource everything, ... I buyd s2 because it was cheaper than gnex and have better graphics card oh, also, i don't like gnex because of not having memory card slot

Well thread locked. I usually don't like these threads as it leads to, you guessed it flaming. If you ask in device forums obviously your answers will be skewed. You should never buy a device because of "he say she say" specially from a forum. The specs are more than available, the frustrations of the devices are as well.
