Please Help. Did I Brick? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried succesfully to flash ICS to my sxs.
then i tried to proceed to root it, but since i flashed ics without a factory data reset, i made a data reset in order to avoid every possible problem.
then i reflashed ICS via flashtool, and started the rooting operation.
when i switched off the device and then reboot it, disaster.
i found the sony logo and then appears a triangle with an exclamation mark in it and a device nearby.
i post a photo of it.
the device normally boots in flash mode and responds to fastboot(i tried downgrading to GB and putting a new kernel in it, nothing worked), but fails to respond to flashtool, even though connects in "green notification mode". i don't know what to do. did i brick it?:crying:
any suggestion?
put now in charge and keeps rebooting, sony logo and then triagle with exclamation mark.

I did notice that when flashing WB6 it would to a long time without any indication in the progress bar. If you would have waited, it eventually would have finished. Your best bet would be to reflash a complete ftf package with flashtool, root and reinstall xrecovery. you can then proceed to flash wb6 or restore the backup I know you took before you attempted to flash
Normally on WB's custom boot animation, the progress bar disappears after it fills up, then it's just a matter of waiting. Yes, it can take a while. If the progress bar restarts instead of disappearing then it's a boot loop, but this was not specified by the OP so I don't know.
I agree though, since Xrecovery is inaccessible, Flashtool is the way to go.
For reference, OP, which version of v6 did you flash? If it was v6c, Doomkernel can cause boot hangups on some devices.
Alright I will do a .ftf installation but where can I find the thread linking to that?

Help please Hard Brick ???

Hello
I've installed the [ROM] MiniCM7-2.1.9 following this steps
i've previously installed a CWM
restart in recovery
wiped data/reset factory
wiped battery
wiped all ...
install Rom
install gapp
and now my phone doesn't goes to recovery and all i get is a black screen whit "Sony Ericsson" legend
please some help.
i post here, because i haven't permissions to post in the developer forum asking for help in the thread
sorry about my bad english
Did you unlock your bootloader using Flashtool?
You also need the latest version of nAa kernel installed.
Thanks for the answer
I didn't unlock my bootloader using Flashtool i haven't do that before and didn't read the installing instructions for doing that my fault
and didn't installed nAa kernel, because i think didn't need to install the kernel obligatorily
is anything i can do to solve this problem ??
You do need the nAa kernel to run MiniCM7, it just won't work without it. Next time you think about installing a rom, make sure you read all the instructions first. Especially if you're using custom kernels as that's a good way to give your phone a real hard brick.
What you've got is a soft brick. The phone still works, it just doesn't work as a phone. A hard brick is when your phone doesn't do anything at all. Which is bad.
All you need to do is download and use Sony Ericsson Update Service. This updates your phone to the latest, official firmware. If it complains that you already have it, choose the option to reinstall it anyway.
This will wipe all the data on your phone, but not your sdcard, so you'll lose your contacts, sms's, etc but you backed up anyway, didn't you?
thanks Ticklefish for the answer
i did that and now i've my phone back =D
Mine wont do that :-/
When i follow your steps Ticklefish i cant connect to the phone. it pops up with a message that tells me to pull down the status line which i cant because i only gets to the Sony Ericsson boot logo.
Got any tips for me?
thanks in advance

Then flash the correct kernel.....
So what is stopping you from flashing the correct one??
And why flashing in .elf format?
btw: wrong section.. in future use Q&A section for questions..

Thanks for the reply,
In future, I will post in Q&A section for message like this.
I have already bricked my phone. How can you help me? I am new to Android and testing. So, it ends up like this.
I can't power on my phone. LED doesn't work. If you know how to recover, please tell me. Thanks. Hopefully, waiting replies.
Yeah, that's how it ends, for most people who don't read before messing with phone.
Flash the correct, stock kernel. No need to power on your phone. Flash it like you flashed it first time.

But, my phone can't be recognized while I connect it.
Try connecting it to flashtool with holding menu key, tell what flashtool says.
Also check in device manager which device got connected when you connect it with holding menu key.
p.s. if nothing happens, try different USB port.

Flashtool needs the back key to be pressed, not the menu key!

Flashtool needs the baack key for flashmode and the menu key for fastboot, to flash a kernel you need fastboot, so use the menu key

Now, my phone is okay.
I took out battery. After taking out the battery, I could make one action. If I need another action, I had to take out battery again.
I flashed boot.img from cm9 zip with fastboot and it's okay now. My phone was dead before I took out battery. After inserting battery, I could enter flash mode but, did not succeed flashing official .ftf. That's why I fastboot cm9. As I said before, I had to take out battery to enter into fastboot mode again.
Thank you all for replies.
I love this forum.
Pardon me with my English.
You have to take out battery. Your wrong kernel can possibly make the phone stuck in a loop (what I say "a loop" is really a loop, not a boot loop) or a kernel panic.
Not succeeded with .ftf, and what does the PCC's repair option give you?

[Q] Changed system fonts, now stuck in a boot loop.. please help me!

Hey everyone,
I have an Xperia U that originally came with GB. I flashed it to ICS a while ago using the official ICS rom that was posted on XDA, and then successfully rooted the device. Earlier today I downloaded an app to change some system fonts. The app asked me to reboot to apply the changes, and since then, my phone has been in a boot loop. It gets to the "XPERIA" screen that the screen flashes and it restarts.
How can I fix my phone? I don't care about the data or anything, I just want to get the phone up and running!
USB Debugging was OFF before this problem happened
Please help me! I'd appreciate it so much. You guys have helped me accomplish a lot with my phone, maybe you guys can help me save it.
EDIT: I've done some searching but I can't seem to find a guide on what to do, similar to the guides I followed for flashing to ICS and then rooting. Please somebody help me!

[Q] Issue after flashing

Hi!
Its my first topic on this forum so i wanted to say welcome to everybody in first place. I would like to mention that my X10i is my first android phone so im completely new with that things.
Stock soft from sony doesnt fitted me i decided to change it. First i managed to root, install xrecovery and all that stuff with a huge help of guides on this forum. Tested some custom roms and finally i saw a jellybean. I thought: I want it! So i tried to follow instruction mentioned in topic (jellybean kickass edition). Occurred problem while flashing cm10, read to try flashing cm9 first - same. Recovered to stock 2.3.3 with xrecovery and tried to flash again. And here I am. I cant get into xrecovery now, just stuck on se logo and even my pc dont recognize x10 when it in flash mode.
Is there any way to fix that? Plis help because phone is out of guaranty.
Edit: Fortunately i manage to restore soft with PCC so topic is for close/del.

Yeap, PCC helped but when my phone had not been recognise by PC when it was in Flash Mode i paniced and wrote on forum. Then i rebooted my PC and there was no trouble with recovery.
Taking the opportunity i would like to ask some more q.
1. I want to install CM10 on my x10 but i encountered some trouble. Do i need unlocked boot loader to to this? I've tried FT bootunlocer but i dont know is it was successfully or not. How to check it? Currently im running on cm7 and stock kernel rooted of course.
Thanks
