Hi
Just bought an S3 and while browsing around I found these two menus I'm not sure what they are for.
Can anybody shed some light?

And also, want to know what is this menu!! (fix for my wifi issue??)

+1

It seems to be for limitate congestion of the cellular networks....by switching between Wi-Fi, Femtocell and Integrated Mobile Broadcast... Not clear but near this definition i think...
Interesting for wifi issue (loss of signal, deconnection....), maybe a bug in relation with this module?
Found secret code here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1687249&page=2
But unable to know which combinaison with * and # before and after make it functionally....

I've installed Nova Launcher and went through the available activities and found these menus. I'm having battery drain issues with cell standby and was looking for possible solutions. I have a i9300t so I don't want to flash the i9300 firmware that fixes it as I'm not sure if it'll work. Plus can't find the Vodafone Australia stock firmware in case I need to revert back to stock.
I fixed my problems with wifi by disabling wifi power save mode. *#0011# > menu button > wifi > wifi power save mode

Install nova Launcher. Long press on the home screen > shortcuts > activities. It will open a list of available activities; scroll down until you get to service mode. The 2 menus I'm referring to are in there

OK, i have found it... Thank you! I never saw this hidden menu before...

Auto-switch between wifi and 3g

Does your connection auto-switch between wifi and 3g?
I was out earlier and the wifi was still locked onto to my home network yet I was no where near home. I wasn't able to browse etc as there was obviously no connectivity. I would have expected it to switch over to 3g or H.

Anything I might be doing wrong? Or settings that may need tweaking?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Could it be down to the fact that I have gps turned off so phone cannot track position? Do you leave this on permanently and if so what's the battery drain like with it on?
Let's get some response on this please. I would like to determine if I have a faulty device and whether I need to start arranging a return.
Thanks
I have GPS on, but it doesn't use any battery unless an app tries to use it. But I don't think this has anything to do with your issue. There aren't any settings that I've changed. Try a reboot.

Y5 Saver
There's a very good app called Y5 Saver - https://market.android.com/details?id=pl.polidea.y5 which autoturns your wifi on/off depending whether your in the proximity of the wifi router (uses network triangulation).
Only issue is that it seems to override 'airplane mode'.

Phone goes to Negative Colors automatically?

Hi ...
In last couple of days my SGSIII went to negative colors automatically without even touching that option and I had to reverse the colors manually to get original colors back.. I am not sure what could be the problem nor have any idea about why it's happening.
I haven't installed any such app that will do that or so..
So can anyone suggest me what to look for as I already factory reset it too but to no available..
P.S. - It only changed for three times and not more.. Also while talking there was some sweat on the glass, could that be a reason though it didn't changed it's colors at that moment but later..
Thanks.
Funnily enough this happend to me today. V. strange

Siyah kernel has a toggle for this. Hitting the home button four times rapidly.

I have the same issue with Omega 27.1 but every time after I disabled it, it automatically goes back to negative colors if I leave it idle for awhile. Any idea?

on Android 5.0.2 there is an option where you enable (and disable) negative colors by clicking 3 times the cetral button I was looking for a week what made my phone (samsung A3) turn on the negative colors. So, the easiest way is to go to settings and search for "negative colors", Its hard to explain where becouse my phone is on greek language but there are two options you have to uncheck in "Accessibilities". One option to turn on/of the negative colors and the other to turn off the option clicking 3 times the central button. Hope that is uderstude and helpfull
update: (ok found it in english)
go to "Settings", then "Accessibility" and tap on "Direct Access"
i got same issue on my samsung galavy V, but there is no 'negative color' button on my accesibility
can someone help me?

Can't enable HSPA

Hi, today I followed a guide that was supposed to disable fast dormancy but instead it disabled HSPA+ completely. The method was the on where you dialed *#192328640# and then after a few options you Released R99 which turns HSPA off. The problem is I can't seem to figure out how to turn it back on! I've tried every option in the menu but still no luck,
Any help?
Thanks

First enter service menu via secret code
*#197328640#
In the menu, choose the following items sequentially:
1 (debug screen)
8 (phone control)
3 (nas control)
5 (rcc HSPA control)
And then you will find the well known menu to change the HSDPA settings, as on Galaxy S and SII.
you can follow this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693529
i hope thjs helps

I've tried this but the options to change revision won't do anything (I tried release 5 and release 6)
try wiping cache via recovery..
if not, flash another modem.. if it still persists, call your network service

There is a threat in general which lists all available modems: search for 'modern i9300'

that menu works weirdly,
1 - deactivate the data connection
2 - when you are in the option rcc HSPA control release 6 , press the both options like a crazy... lol, then keep pressed the first option and then the second one (it's obvious... I am not sure how that menu works xD)
3 - In the normal configuration menu, in the menu where you can change between GSM,WCDMA, select GSM, then WCDMA and at least GSM/WCDMA (automatic mode) <- the default option.
4 - reboot
That is how I get back H+
I am pretty sure this is not related to the modem version or the fast dormancy thing...

I know, I had H+ two days ago but when I tried the procedure stated in the OP it was gone! I can't seem to make it appear again, only 3g.
Well.. i suggest (if the H+ is really important to you) to flash back to a stock firmware and do a factory reset
I hope this helps

Look in accessibility menu, maybe you will be able to unactivate it
(you could also look to Text to speech features in input menu)
Also, maybe this is a setting of your app, but we don't know which one it is, so...
If this is a part of an app, check in it's settings. Else, go to the applications label in the settings, go to the manage all apps tab, and scroll down to the voice apps. Disable them, or clear all data of the app. This should solve your problem

Go to settings > accessibility > services > talkback ..and switch off the talkback option..your problem will be solved....and if there is any other app in the "services" then switch that off also coz there is some bug in 4.1.2 coz of which even if talkback option is off, it is used by other app in that services..my problem was solved by doing that n I hope ur's also be solved..

S3 sets proxy automatically

Hey guys,
Facing a really odd issue. My s3 keeps on setting 127.0.0.1:3128 as a proxy for all wifi connections. I did complete format and still it is setting it automatically and does not allow me to browse Web due to that.
Any I've else having this issue or knows a solution for this? ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
There isn't an option to set a proxy in wifi settings, you'll have to explain the problem better.
Alternatively flash the latest stock rom using odin and then factory reset, this will reset the phone to a default state.

@boomboomer there is, if you long press the wifi and check show advanced settings

Well, never knew that option was there. Mine is set to none, if you can't change yours or it won't stick then your rom is probably corrupt, like most glitches which appear. Wipe and reflash.
