Cannot find boot animation file for MIUI - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

I recently got MIUI for the Nook Tablet and I cannot find the file for the boot animation, I checked under system/media and could not find the boot animation zip file or a .png file. Is there another place where the file is located?

Try /data/local

Use root explorer from / =root. It has a great search feature among other things. I'm not running MIUI but you should be able to search for bootanimation.zip.
Good Luck!
Lars for tobdaryl
downloaded MIUI from xda and bootanimation.zip is located /system/media when installed

MIUI is a different than CM7 or CM9. If you wanna upload a boot animation, save it on your SD Card and upload it through your theme manager. The Theme Manager will add your boot animation to the section.

[Q] How can I install custom boot animations on 4.1.57?

I have tried to add numerous different boot animation on my phone. From my understanding you place them in the system/media folder and replace the existing bootanimation.zip with the custom animation and reboot. However I have tried with 4 different animations and only got a black screen. I tried to unizip them and rezip them using 7.z and making sure I zip it with "store" to no avail. Any help is greatly appreciated here. Also does it matter it Im using Supermanager to move and rename the zips, or does it strictly have to be thru adb. (Though I have tried both)
Im running gingerblur 1.3 with honey glow theme and boot animation.
Dont unzip it. Put the bootanimation.zip in the system/media. I use Root Explorer.

Oh. You asked how to install you should ask how to create, or how to zip.
I said in my original post that I have tried just placing it in the folder, and that I have tried to rezip them. My question was why it wasnt working, or what I was doing wrong.

Hi All,
I had flashed the bootanimation from the Nexus Prime on my X10i and it was working fine. But now I am not able to change the bootanimation by any means and am stuck with the Nexus boot animation.
I have tried flashing the stock bootanimation.zip through xrecovery, as well as tried replacing the file manually, but once i reboot, the phone reverts to the old boot animation.
How can i chnage by boot animation now???

Wrong section, Post your questions in Q & A section
Anyways go to /data/local & delete bootanimation.zip if there's any, then go to /system/media & delete bootanimation.zip if there's any, Then flash the new boot animation that you want
Did I mention wrong section?
Use root explorer or any file manager which can access root files, manually delete the bootanimation from systems/media and replace it with your file.

Ok, so there this copy of the old bootanimation.zip in /data/local - deleting that copy did the trick for me. Thanks!

Stock Boot Animation

I need help with restoring the stock Galaxy S2 boot animation.
This was what happened. I installed jrummy's Root Tools.
In my eagerness, I replaced the original boot animation without backing up!
Now when I want to undo the changes that has been done, many an online search suggested going to system/media and removing bootanimation.zip so that bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop can work their magic...
And here is where the problem is, bootanimation.zip is nowhere to be found!
I wonder if Root Tools had totally overwritten bootsamsung and bootsamsungloop.
All I want is to get back the original bootanimation sequence.
Can anyone help with this? TIA!!!
Here is the original bootanimation
Just unzip the attached zip file and copy and paste the attached bootsamsung.qmp and bootsamsungloop.qmg to system/media and you are done..
BTW is your poweron sound intact??
Thanks bro! The poweron sound is still present.
I have resolved the problem. Apparently, I have been going at it wrongly.
I had been using Astro as file manager but it didn't allow me to access data/local where bootanimations.zip was.
After I switched to RootExplorer and removed the offending file, voila!

[Q] CM9 changing boot animation on Motorola Atrix 4g

I have installed Kangs CM9 ICS and absolutly love it. Thank you Devo Team for all the work that you all do and definite thumbs up on all.
I would like to change my boot animation and i have followed the directions of some posts and it has not worked.
Applying zip from sdcard in CWM recovery. Renaming the animation to bootanimation.zip and moving to the system folder under media and it wont move or work.
I am using the CWM touch that i have found in the forums and using CM9 like i said.
What can i do to change the animation?
If you have a bootanimationn.zip file just use root explorer and copy it into the /system/media folder just overwrite the existing or rename it prior to copying over the new one. Just make sure you mimic the permissions of the original.
Sent from my MB860(Atrix) Running CM9 and OC'd using xda premium
how do i mimic the permissions
Copy bootanimation.zip with Root Explorer, navigate to system/media, enable read/write with Root Explorer when in system/media, paste the bootanimation.zip into system/media, long press on bootanimation.zip, select permissions from menu, set permissions to RW/R/R, then reboot.

You mentioned that we must move the bootanimation to system/media but you must also mention that after doing that we must change the bootanimation permission to 0644 or rw-r--r-- or else it won't show any bootanimation....
Press THANKS if I helped,
Best Regards,
AJ
