Can any body help me with a windows Mobile 6.5 ROM update for HP Ipaq Data Messanger
I searched the entire Net for the ROm but its not available. Can any body help me?
Is there any other ROMs available for HP Ipaq Data Messenger ??Like Adrinoid or some thing like that. HP drains out battery very fast if we use third party programs for Visual enhancement (QVGA) .So any other ROMs with embedded visual enhancement available for Ipaq Data Messanger
I am just a beginner in this world .I am requesting the kings and Queens in this field to just pls help me out
Well, I'm sorry to say I haven't found a WM 6.5 ROM for the iPAQ Data Messenger and I've searched the whole net as well. I haven't seen any ROMs PERIOD.
I use SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.1 and I love it, yet I can't agree with you on the battery life. Well, atleast not anymore. After toying with a couple of settings my battery life is quite amazing to be honest. With some average usage I only get it down 25% a day.
That's with texting, phoning and playing a bit of Hexic. WiFi however REALLY drains the battery, but that's with every phone.
Also, don't lock the phone with the lock key. Put it in standby by holding the red key. It saves way more battery. (You'll still get calls and texts, don't worry)
Battery Live
Please, help the most of Data Messenger Owner... Because my battery's live is very poor! One day is a miracle!
What do you do, on the device, for unless 25% of battery by day?

Well.. I went searching for some settings and my phone and found I've set them as the following:
Settings > Personal > Phone
HP Bandswitch: Radio = Edge / GSM (I don't use 3G, so I got it always on 2G which uses a lot less battery)
Settings > System > Energy
Advanced: Turn App off when not used for 2 minutes
Settings > System > Backlight
On Battery: Turn backlight off when app not used for 1 minute
Backlight: On battery = Auto, on power = Auto
Advanced: Leave keyboard backlight on for 20 seconds.
Next to that I don't have any special settings. I think however that the 2G one helped the most.
Thank you for the replies
I am having a prob with HP ipaq messanger. My battery display full all the time. Because of this i cant knw when my phone will switch off ..Lol...Any Ideas ? And any ROM updates (WM 6.5) for HP Ipaqdata messanger?
Hi everyone,
Coming from Windows Mobile & iPhone system, I realized Android system doesn't automatically enable/disable 3G, thus it drains the battery if I leave it on, or have to go through the inconvenience to manually enabling it before starting browser, chat, or Facebook.
Since this is only my 4th day on the Streak, I'd like to ask if anyone knows there's a widget or app like this?
With many thanks,
Tom.
Tasker is a pretty useful app for that kind of stuff, I have it configured to turn on airplane mode on launching certain apps, but you can just as easily set it to turn on data and have it default to data off.

If i am not wrong the windows/iPhone never enable 3G or 2G automatically. you have to toggle 3G on and off manually
Two ways to do this. first, if it's a widget you want, there's one built in. Long press the home "room" and select widgets. Then select the Power control Widget. It gives you single button push for bluetooth, wifi, gps, active sync, and brightness control.
The other way is press on the little tray that has the battery and other icons in it, and you will see the button to turn wifi on or off, as well as bluetooth.
Juice Defender does what you want. It disables 3g when asleep, turning on periodically to check for email and stuff and enables 3g when your phone is awake. Very customisable too!

You can automate this with 3GBattery.
3GBattery|Google Play
i am dead tired in finding an app that does the same ..However i m unable to find something even close..In All the phones i used before this while surfing if the data connection is not being used , the phone wud terminate the connection temporarily and when u click a new link the connection wud be setup again...I read a lot on the internet and want to stop battery drain caused by an "always active" connection..Its a pain..Anybody ANy clues ??? Tried Juice Defender Doesnt HElp !!
I don't understand what you want.
You want something that automatically switches Mobile Data OFF when not used ? And when you hit any app that requires internet to switch it ON ?
the first part like u said when a page is fully open and i m reading it and there has been no data access for a while , the connection shud terminate on its own and not by my going all the way upto the notification slider
I understand now.
Try tasker, you can do whatever you want with that app. You can control every part of the phone. I'm using it and I've got to admit that it is amazing. This is the kind of app that makes Android a beauty.
Juicedefender does exactly wat u said...
green power free is the best! i set it to open the data for 1 min every hour....you can customize it as you wish
try juicedefender + ultimatejuice, work nice for me
I accomplish the same thing using a firewall that enables when the screen turns off and disables when the screen turns on. What I've found is that it doesn't save any battery to turn off 3G when there is no data being transferred. So long as the firewall is up, I can leave 3G and Wifi on. I get about 70 hours of battery on the Optimus V using this configuration.
I don't want to be too critical but many Smart Actions I found here or other Razr forums tend to be very restrictive on your use.
Com'on, you bought an expensive fancy phone which uses the fastest 4G LTE network, you paid some premium on those joy. It is never a Verizon LTE Razr if you turn 4G off.
So my bottom line is :
1.I want to be able to surf web/watch youtube/check email on 4G or wifi network when I want to (as opposed to wait for 5 seconds because it was off when screen was off)
And
2. I want to have reasonable battery life.
After some testing, Smart Actions that work on my Razr is
1. At Home: when it detect my wifi, it will switch there.
2. In call: When there is incoming call, turn off Data Connection and Screen turn to 0% brightness. (This is CDMA network, so you can't surf and use data at the same time anyway. Or do you really do a lot of such things? If so, please ignore this)
This #2 will help if you have constant phone conversation of about 30 mins daily. You won't want to burn unnecessary juicy while you are only talking.
3. At work where no wifi is available (for security reasons), I turn it off. I sit in office most of the time of the day, so you won't want wifi keep scanning and eating juice. I used TImeFrame to identify this, not geo location because wifi will need to be turned off.
4. In the night, using the night saver sample, I turned off cell data and background sync.
5. Low battery saver: surprisingly, in this action I only turned it to 0% screen brightness. Why? Just imagine you are using it as GPS or some important task on the road, you dont want to lose the GPS/Data if the battery dropped below a threshhold?
6. Most helpful action:
No Action At Work.
If you are working in office most of the time, your cellphone is quietly sitting on your desk mainly. So if you specify
1. at work
2. movement detection found nothing moving
then disable background sync. it will save the juice and when you turn on the screen to check email, the 4G is always there.
The whole idea , is not to disable data connection whenever you turn off screen. Many times you will have background downloads and sometimes when you turn on the screen, the phone takes some time to restore the data connection. which makes you staring at your phone can wait for a while. quite unfortunate if you have an Iphone user sitting beside you immediately pull the data out, right? =)
Personal settings, hopefully it helps you. It will easily give you 12 hours of usage. and for my charge now: 10 hours later it is at 80%, of course it has 6 hours of night standby.
Let's discuss more TESTED smart actions here? =)
note: if your phone is in your pocket a lot during a working day, don't use motion detection and you know why...
You can use voice and data simultaneously when on 4g. Just fyi.

Yup, it's definitely useful too.
Example: talking to friend on phone about hanging out, go to home screen open Google maps to check when the next bus comes, while still talking to friend

Is there such an option? Been looking for it, can't find it.

thank you for the tips.
About 4 days ago , I noticed that my BATTERY STATUS App no longer was updating in the standard 30 min time intervals .My Nokia 920 is on AT&T,. I have downloaded the following BATTERY STATUS APPS AND THE RESULTS ARE ALL THE SAME:
1 BATTERY INFO
2.BATTERY LEVEL FOR WP8
3 BATTERY WIDGET
4. BATTERY
5. BATTERY SENSE
And a few more
Has anyone else noticed or experienced the same thing? For each of the listed Apps , I checked my " Background" , " Lock Screen" and everything is running as it should.
I advise anyone who reads this to monitor your BATTERY STATUS App ( if you have one installed on your Nokia 920)
If you disable all data connections (WiFi, Cellular) the background agents stop working (even if no connection is reqiured). I believe this is a bug in the OS.
Thank you for taking the time to assist me. I believe you may be right . What is frustrating is that it was not always occurring. Now I am having issues with Office documents not uploading to SkyDrive. I was so in love with my Nokia . I still enjoy it . but these features are very important to my daily usage. I will search the Forum for some corrective postings .
:good:.
