is this rom :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193001 for locked bootloaders? and which kernel is the best for locked bootloader
is it possible to bring ics to locked bootloader?
reading the instructions i would say its for unlocked bootloader and the best kernel for it would be the one provided for it the custom kernel stated in the description
Sent from my X10i using XDA
since that rom is for ulbl im on locked so which kernel is best for locked bootloader(not that rom)
That ROM is for both bootloaders ( but it's even recommended to be on locked bootloader ). About kernels ... Th Kernel n5-1 is the best kernel for our x10. It's extremely efficient.
ok so can u give me n5-1 for xperia x10 locked bootloader?
ThGo v18a ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193001 ) comes with Th Kernel n5-1. You can download newest Th ROM from here - http://www.mediafire.com/?xffeb3kbp1s27iy. If you are looking to download the Kernel itself, here is the link - http://www.mediafire.com/?xffeb3kbp1s27iy.
since you are on locked bootloader you need not flash kernels separately.
the kernel for locked bootloaders are embeded in the ROM itself for locked bootloaders.
and yea ics isn't yet available on locked bootloaders.

Hi,
I want to put the MiniCM7-2.1.9 on my X10 Mini Pro. At the moment I have Froyobread v023f installed
Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015
Kernel: 2.6.29 [email protected] #1
Do I HAVE to flash a new kernel (nAa)?
Where can I see that my Bootloader is unlocked?
Greets
You do need that kernel, the rom won't work without it.
Have a look in the Development section for SE Tweaker, that'll tell you if your phone is unlocked.
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
If you never installed a custom kernel, your bootloader is locked so you need to unlock it before installing the kernel.
Latest MiniCM versions (from 2.1.0) need nAa's custom kernel to work so you have to install it or install a previous release of the ROM (I'd suggest 2.0.5)
use this to unlock your bootloader and flash a the nAa kernel - easy and quick

is it possible to flash the kernel after the rom? because I just did, and I got Sony Ericsson logo in screen.. can't install the kernel or go into recovery..

no you can and your doomed.
just joking. remember before installing a rom if the requirements says use this kernel then you should flash the kernel because it is required right? try going back to stock using pc companion or seus

As far as I know, MiniCM7 works only with his nAa kernel, so your bootloader has to be unlocked. MiniCM Pro by paul-xxx uses stock kernel or custom kernels (nAa kernel with that rom will give a wifi error).
To check if you bootloader is unlocked. Use S1Tool and check the loader version. If it's a lower cased 'r' then it's unlocked, if not there are many tutorials around here to help you unlock your bootloader. Hope this helps.

It's got all the details that you'll need just make sure that you read every single line thoroughly.
If you make any mistakes than you can use sony ericsson update service to reset it back to the stock SE rom.
Btw I recommend that you use the flash tool to unlock bootloader and to check if its unlocked as Noobonic said use the SE1Tool.
For me I'd say that MiniCM7 is the best custom rom that exists right now but since we have to flash the nAa kernel it seems kind of risky at first but if you understand the steps and follow it properly than there's not much to worry about.
The other ROM's are also quite good but the MiniCM7 is the best and most stable custom ROM.
I have SE stock rom 2.1 update 1 with stock kernel on my x10i mini. I have rooted my device and I want to know if I can enable multitouch on my phone. Please someone help me .
Thanks in advance...
I didnt try only kernel, but I try custom MINICM7-2.2.0 based on GB 2.3.7 and it is like new phone reBORN, fast&stable.

In that case, there are a few froyo-based roms (srom-froyo, froyobread) that include this particular module, don't know if those links are still working, try to search the x10mini development forum to find them

Do they require unlocking of bootloader .Actually I am afraid of this purpose. Is there any GB rom that can be flashed without unlocking bootloader on stock kernel 2.6.29 Thanks for Help.
You only need to unlock your bootloader if you need a custom kernel.
All the froyo roms run on the stock kernel, so they can be installed without unlocking the bootloader.
GB roms all run on a custom kernel (on the x10Mini), so you need to unlock the bootloader for that.
If you get S1Tool and post the output, i could probably provide you with some guidance on the safety of unlocking

Yeah !! in the output It shows SEMC something with capital R . Actually date is 10w29. Flashtool is big file and I have a slow connection... Smthng else for unlocking bootloader
it should say semc-simlock certificate, and 10w29 is ok too. you can get the manual scripts for unlocking the bootloader in a slightly smaller package, but the point about unlocking the bootloader is to install a custom kernel... you will need flashtool for that... lol.
I would say, try one of the froyo roms if they're still available, i'm pretty sure froyobread with the hotfix can be downloaded and they can be installed on the stock kernel. but then, those are big downloads too on a slow connection

Now the problem is on GB thread it said that I should have naA kernel on my phone and on naA kernel thread it said that I should have GB custom rom. I have only unlocked the bootloader and still on stock rom and stock kernel.,
once again its ur turn to sort me out of this problem...

First you flash the nAa kernel using flashtool
Then flash the rom through cwm

Go into CWM and install MiniCM, stock will not boot on the nAa kernel.

Hi,
I recently tried to root .62 LWW stock rom.
My unsuccessful attempts are recorded here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2068238
Again today i tried to do it 2 times. Once with Flashtools and other time with SEUS (though it says i have the latest version on .58!).
I have unlocked BL so doing OTA on .58 rooted version = stops my device from turning on.
So i am just requesting whether someone could upload a rooted .62 stock rom for LWW version? IAlso i have tried rooting on my own using Knight45's article but it failed to boot :/
So now my only option is to get a .62 rooted rom and tweak it slowly on my own
It would be much appreciated for your support in this = )
Thank you

Hi,
Little confused as this hasn't been mentioned before.
Are you saying, for me to get root on .62, all i have to do is:
Flash a stockof .62 rom to my LWW
Flash a custom Kernel i.e. rage kernal 3.0 or x-kernal?
and i shall have root?
And also, yes i have unlocked bootloader.
Custom kernal i was looking to use (will most likely use rage kernal):

Than you are allowed to unlock your boot loader. This doesn't mean that it is already unlocked.
I unlocked my boot loader via test point and rooting status still says unlocked allowed.
Best way to test is flashing a custom kernel.
Choose a kernel compatible to your current android version. ICS kernel for ICS android and GB kernel for GB android.
Take a look at the stickys. You will find a description how to flash a kernel and which kernel is for which android version.
Good luck.

Thank u very much. I am now on 4.0.2.A.0.62 rm and I am going to old 4.0.2.....42 to unlock bootloder and root. Will it done the trick for me?
is karnel included in rom (.ftf)?
I am new here. So please excuse my false and poor english
Whatever motorazr said is absolutely correct.. just flash a custom kernel and if it gets flashed that means your bootloader is unlocked.. If it dosnt then unlock your bootloader officially.. Its given on sony's side about unlocking.. Check it..
And if you are flashing .ftf file it will change your firmware totally.. Custom kernel is different.. Stock. Ftf files are different.. Go to sticky thread in neo v development section, for tutorial about flashing kernel..
Hope this meets your need..

If you really flashed night elf kernel than your boot loader is unlocked!
What program did you use, flash tool?
Give us a log cat from kernel flash that we can take a look. Or make a screenshot from your phone settings showing android version and kernel version.
Look at my screeny.
No need to root your phone with doomlords method. Almost every custom kernel comes prerooted and has build in cwm. Just flashing a custom kernel and you have got superuser access and cwm.
You can try cm10 with your unlocked bootloader. Just flash a compatible kernel and install rom via cwm.

Anyway your phone is free! You can try anything you want!
For cm10, download latest nightly for your phone. Haida for neo v and hallon for neo. The download contains a jb kernel for your phone. Flash it. After that enter cwm and install the rom. Last step is flashing Google apps for jb via cwm. After all that you are done and can enjoy android 4.1.2.

Just to clear something out I tell you my personal story.
I had a live with walkman which I unlocked official. The rooting status in service menu changed from boot loader unlock allowed: yes to boot loader unlocked.
Actually I have got a neo v. I unlocked the boot loader via test point. Guess what happened? Rooting status in service menu still says boot loader unlock allowed: yes.
At the moment I haven't got a stock rom installed so I can't take a screen. I have posted some earlier, I will search for it and post it here again.
I don't know if it is possible to edited a kernels name easily. The screen he provided shows that his current kernel is named night elf.
Stock kernels are named different, I don't remember correct but wasn't it something like performance?
Best way to prove us is to provide a flash tool log cat showing a successfully kernel flash.
Again I ask the op: have you unlocked your phone yourself and which method did you use?
Or have you bought the phone second hand and somebody had unlocked it already?

There are two miui version in this thread.
1. v4 which ist stock sony ics .587 based
2. v2 which is cm7 based.
For v4 you can use any compatible ics based kernel.
Look at the stickys and you will find the kernels listed.
On my mind are stock sony kernel, advaced stock kernel, suave kernel, lupus kernel and nightelf (aliance) kernel.
If you are already on sony ics rom you can directly install miui rom.
If you want more kernel features than you must flash a custom kernel. To do so you have to unlock your phone bootloader.
V2 is cm7 based as already written. To try it you must unlock your bootloader and flash the provided kernel that comes with the rom.

Yupp.
V4 ist .587 based and works with stock kernel. You are limited to stock kernel features. If you want more like overclocking, etc you must unlock your bootloader and flash an custom ics kernel.
With a locked bootloader you are limited, with a unlocked bootloader you are free!!!
