When the One X came out there was a promotion where you would receive 23gb for two years on dropbox if you signed on from a One X. According to this HTC is running the sam promotion again on the One X+.
I am on the AT&T version of the phone and tried signing on to dropbox from my phone, but to no avail. The extra storage was not added on. Any suggestions? Am Is it a problem on my end? Or does the promotion just not apply for the AT&T version?

According to dropbox, the promotion is valid for the new or exist accounts but didn't associated to another htc sense device from before.
I had the same problem, i had a dropbox account which was associated with my previous device (htc sensation), so when i connected it with this phone i didn't received the 23gb promotion over my account, so after some search i found that i couldn't had this promotion, so i connected the phone with another account that i had before and it didn't associated with any phone, and directly i received the extra memory

That's not true... In April 2012 I've bought a HTC One X and got my 23GB of storage...
In november 2012 I've bought my HTC One X+ and got 23GB of storage again (for two years)
But I haven't got it automatically so I've email the Dropbox-support for giving me manually 23GB's of storage, no problemo!

Go to dropbox.com/gs on your computer. Sign in and it should give you the space. If that doesn't work then make your way through the contact us part of the website and follow the links as if you were going to email them about the issue and it will be explained how to do it. Sorry don't remember all the steps but it wasn't hard at all.

This page on Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/help/249/en) makes it look like AT&T and Verizon opted out of the promotion. Are AT&T customers getting this free space? If so, how?
Yes I'm on AT&T and got it this morning. Just keep following the links about it and you'll get there. But all you should have to do is go to www.dropbox.com/gs and sign in.
Or follow the "get free space" links.

Still not working. If I follow the links it eventually brings me to that page I linked to before that says it's not available for AT&T (or Verizon). Can you recreate your exact steps?
I will do that and post how exactly what I did. However it will have to be later as I'm not with my netbook at the moment.
Just to be clear you are going online on a computer and not your phone right?

I went to try and retrace my steps and see now where it says AT&T and Verizon opted out of that. But I swear I got it this morning and I'm on AT&T. I do t remember exactly how I did it. Try doing it through the dropbox app on your phone. See what happens. I just remember it told me to go to www.dropbox.com/gs and I instantly got two emails. One saying I got 23 gigs for sense 4 and 3 additional gigs for sense 3.5 or higher.

That's weird, still not working for me. I'm hesitant to submit a request because they'll just tell me I'm not eligible on AT&T, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone else if there's some glitch.
Oh well, I got like 15 extra GB through my association with an .edu email address, so it's not the end of the world or anything. But if anyone has other ideas then let me know.
create an account on your phone. I just did it and i got an email 5 seconds later saying " claim your 23 gigs"

Yeah but the point is I'd like it on my already existing account.
I bought my One X+ a little over a week ago, and just now got the email about the 2 year storage this morning
I haven't gotten anything from dropbox...
I am AT&T and I tried using the apk from the "missing after bootloader unlock" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1997511&page=2) thread and no luck with email or extra space.
I'm on AT&T as well, and I tried setting up a new account, but, no luck so far.
Although, I didn't really try too hard, because I figure 2.5gb is enough for the time being. Otherwise I might get all comfy with my 25GB and then BAM, the 2 years is over and it's time to move out or pay up, lol.
That is how I rationalize it at least, hehe. I also wasn't aware it was a 'Sense' thing. I signed up on a custom rom which was 'De-Sensified', so that might be why I missed the offer.
Remarkably, 4.5 months after getting my HOX+ on AT&T, I just received an email from Dropbox this weekend telling me about my extra 23 GB:
"Hi Adam,
Congrats on becoming a Dropbox Guru! We've awarded you 23 GB of bonus space for the next 24 months. You now have 43.5 GB on Dropbox. To get even more space, check out our upgrade options.
Thanks again for supercharging your HTC device with Dropbox!
Enjoy,
- The Dropbox Team"
I wish I knew what I did this weekend to prompt this, but it seems to have magically appeared! FWIW, I'm running Elegancia 4.8.0.
I have sold my S4 and moved to the dark side anyways I still watch these forums quite often and wanted to share what I got.
Recently with the new More Share Everything you of course get the 25GB cloud space, international texting.
And if you didn't get promotional data call up and say that you would like to have added the promotional data package that lasts for 1 year , it's 1GB for all your lines for 1 year for free so why not get it?
yes 1GB is not a lot but at least it's an extra gig.
I have 12GB plan so that is 13GB.
Promo data counts first before your regular XX GB.

As long as its share everythinf i think they will. I called in for my gf took 5 minutes and I got her the promo on their plan, they have 6gb so now its 7.
In your case it would be 1.3 gb.
Let me know I am curious . I think they will give you remember its only for 1yr
Can you link me to some info on this? I'm not the primary on my account but would like to send him the info so he can turn our shared 4gb into 5 for the three of us. That will be a lot more comfortable for a year.

I uploaded 3 screenshots for you.
1) Call 611 , click 4 I think then say Customer Support
2) be cool with the rep and say that you have the new more share everything plan and you interested in the promotion that Verizon is running
that gives all the lines shared 1GB of data that runs for 1 year.
3) make sure to know the first 1GB of free data goes into effect lets say you as of today used 3GB so your regular 4GB data will say you used 2GB.
basically when new months billing cycle goes into effect you will first use the promo data.
Let me know how it goes!
ps I told the rep few of my friends got the promotions and I told him that I should be eligble for this , since I am also on share everything.
I just got of the phone with a VZW rep and she said that it's only for those with a data plan of 1 or 2 GB. Not for 4GB or higher. Was kinda bummed until I was offered a plan that will split my 2 lines up and instead of paying the $166 with insurance on both lines, it dropped down to $136 with unlimited talk and text and each line with 2GB of data and both with insurance. So it saves me $30/month. Made my day!

That is called the loyalty plan and as you can see the rep was wrong.
He or she talked about the 500MB plan going to 1GB and 2GB going to 3.
you can look at my screenshots and nice to see you got the loyalty plan for 2 lines!
if anyone gets same answer from a rep just call again and make sure to tell them it's not the 500MB -> 1GB or 2GB -> 3GB. because it's not that

I called in for my gf last night they have 6 gig plan for 5 phones so now they have 7 [+1] for year. That is what I am telling you
he/she gave you loyalty plan, it's 60$ talk and text +2gb of data and I think if you want to go to 4GB it's like 50-60$ extra on that plan.
I wonder why they didn't let me do it if they did it for your gf

I'll probably sick with the loyalty. Even if I go over a gig it's only $10 more, and it'll still be cheaper then the share plan. But thanks for saving me money haha. Wouldn't had called Verizon if I didn't read your post.

Can you take a screenshot from my verizon mobile app? just make sure not to show your number.
It should show up in a blue color the promotional data part
because I am not sure if they simply gave you more data on the 300 MB plan , with the promo data it is 1GB bonus so if VZW gave you upgrade to 1GB you should be seeing now 2GB so that is huge difference from the 300 mb a month!

Call up again I posted also the info on other forums about this promo one guy had to call twice.
He got it on 2nd time I think he had the new 3GB plan so it makes it 4GB for him.
Got it on first try, 8 gb went to 9 gb for one year.
2 years ago I had an S3 and used its 50gb Dropbox promo to add 48gb to a preexisting account. Can the same account be used to take advantage of the S5 50gb Dropbox promo to add onto or renew the original S3 50gb Dropbox Promo?
I haven't been able to get any of my new Samsung devices to renew the Dropbox promo, but them again, my original one hasn't expired just yet.

I did get the promo for the S4 a second time on another account though when I handed it down to someone else to use as an upgraded phone, so that was cool.

Yeah I created a new account and used a shared folder to migrate my data from my old account into my new account. It was super fast, just move your files from your old account into your shared folder and copy them out on the other end through your new account ^.^
I claimed the 50GB (48GB bonus) Dropbox promo on my rooted AT&T with T-Mobile's Dropbox OOBE last year. When I got the S5, I tried to do the same with the S5, and discovered that the expiration date did not change/increment. I investigated, and found this:
https://www.dropbox.com/help/297/en
The first Dropbox account that signs in to the app on the device will get 48 GB of free space (assuming the other conditions are met). Each account is only able to claim this promotion once.

I recently exchanged my S5 for another through warranty (long story, don't ask), and on the new handset, I just signed in with my wife's account, granting her the extra 48GB for 2 years. Works for me, because we share a lot of files back and forth using DB. I then removed her account from my device, wiped the cache/data for the dropbox app, and then signed back in with mine. She still has the extra 48GB, and I've got my account back on my device.
I'd like to point out a nice bonus to the whole situation. In the above link, read the Terms near the bottom. Specifically the good part:
When the 2-year promotion period ends, the 48 GB of promotional space added to the user's Dropbox service will be automatically removed. An additional 3 GB of storage space will be added to the account.

I'm okay with a permanent 3GB increase, how about everyone else? I'm currently at 61.63GB, but I'll be at 16.63 when the promotion runs out next year. Coupling that with Google Drive's free 15GB (also has a decent PC app), I currently have enough room (31GB permanent so far) to hold every irreplaceable document/picture/file on my computers in the cloud - synced, and for free.
Really, there isn't a way to renew the 48GB on the same Dropbox account?? That's not nice at all!

Who ever told you that was misinformed. I've had the promo since the S3, and recently my dropbox had expired and dropped down to the usual 5gb when I did all the bonus stuff to gain the extra space. I got the S4, Note 2, as well as the Note 3 during the time, and was told that the promo cannot be stacked. When I logged into my dropbox account when I got the S5 2 weeks ago, I got a notification that my dropbox had been upgraded again to 52gb now. So you will have to wait until it expires, then you can use the same account to gain the extra space.
Now I have 56.5GB on my account!

I've tried that after my promo expired and no dice. I even tried with multiple devices that were never dropbox activated (but valid for the promo).
But when I logged in with a new account (even in my months old Note 3, which had been heavily used in my old dropbox account) it did award me the bonus.
Well I guess I will have to move accounts (and I had 12GB from other promos and stuff). Can't complain. And I guess in two years time, they will be giving much more than that for free.

No but with the extra data plans there doing for a limited time I got a good deal. Me and the wife are using the Edge program so that just gave us 2 extra gbs per month and I bumped my plan from 10gb to 12gb and Verizon is doing that data promo which 12 is really 15gb and I'm still on a month to month plan didn't have to renew my contract. So basically for an extra 10 bucks I got 17gb a month now from 10gb.

These data caps and outrageous charges per month for it is simply put.....retarded. I can't believe alone people are FORCED to pay ~ $100 a month for stupid internet then they have the audacity to charge for 'smartphone' and 'tablet' and of course all the little 'taxes' and 'FEES'. I'm so glad I still only pay 29.99 for unlimited.....they REALLY need to bring back the unlimited. In todays world there should be no stupid ass limit on data. They brag about all this LTE and XLTE crap and act like they need to charge you for being a burdon and using it. I could see inflation, ya know, 5 maybe 10 bucks every couple years on plan pricing but how in the hell can you go from charging 29.99 for no limit to 50 bucks for 2 measly little gigs? Shouldn't even be legal. They need a simple flat rate for data and no tiered crap. 49.99 unlimited data is fair for todays market but......it'll never come again

pretty sure they are doing double data promotions also. we are on a 15 gig family plan and got bumped up to 30 gigs for an extra 10 a month not bad at all
They just want every dime they can get before everyone goes back to unlimited data. One carrier opens it up and they will all eventually follow suit. I wonder if representatives from each carrier meet clandestinely in some anonymous pub and discuss how to best control rates, and us.
