With the Sprint S3 root method working for 3 variants (Verizon not released to test), how likely is that they are all the same hardware except for the radios?
I'm hopeful this means custom ROMs (and AOSP ROMs)will be compatible with all the variants, making the US versions simpler to develop for compared to the US versions of the S2.

Hello, noob here.
So as we know lollipop is comming to the Sprint LG G3 on the 16th. Since no lollipop based roms right now work correctly with GSM ( T-Mobile.. etc). Will AOSP roms now work correctly with GSM (like T-Mobile) and recognize GSM sim cards now that Sprint will release an official version?
Or will GSM users like I have to stick to the stock rom or Cloudy 1.2 forever?
Bonus question: Will flashing a lollipop rom meant for the international version (D855 I think?)
give me GSM service? Or will my phone just brick?..
Thank you
You don't have to stick with anything.... Just go get a proper phone for your carrier.
Please reread the 2 questions
Thank You
I want to convert my T-mobile (sm-g925t) to the international version so I can get OTA updates faster thatn T-mobile users. I know I can just flash International ROMs but I'd rather have the stock firmware instead. Does anyone know how to convert from T-mobile to International? is it even possible on Galaxy devices? I've done a tone of research and I haven't found anything that can help me with this. It is possible to do this on HTC devices, for example I converted my T-mobile HTC One to Developer Edition HTC One by changing the MID and CID, but I don't know about Samsung devices.
i'm not sure if this is possible, but was wondering if there was a way to flash a certain firmware on our edge phones to make it carrier agnostic? I came from a Nexus 5 so we could flash different versions of the OS to either the international version or the US version, etc. Can we do that with these locked phones? Is it possible to say flash a Sprint phone with the ATT firmware? or is the hardware actually different in the phones?
There may be partition and bootloader variations especially with the ATT and Sprint versions so I wouldn't risk it. Roms however are a different story as long as you have a compatible kernel.
hello people on the forum, I want to purchase a galaxy s5, and probe the SMG900A and that is all that I sold blocked. I was told that I look for the Galaxy S5 SMG900F or 900M, but in my country it is difficult to find these second-hand models.
I offer SMG900T model, and understand a little that is not as blocked as the 900A, but then want to ask that much difference between the 900T vs 900F.
900F roms work on the 900T?
900T is the root recovery and in lollipop 5.1.1?
It is so easy to manipulate as 900F / M?
I do not want is to return to regret as I did with the 900A.
I want to try roms as phoenix 9.0, or sixperience, or really good roms
It can? help me please
From what I understand, the G900T is the same phone as the G900F, but the radios are a bit different. If you live outside the US, you may want to make sure the G900T will work with your carrier. If you do decide to purchase a G900T, make sure it's unlocked from T-Mobile.
That being said, The G900T can work with all G900F roms as far as I know. The bootloader is not locked so you can use a custom recovery, though most of us just use flashfire now. It's pretty easily rooted, and I don't see that changing. I'm currently on rooted stock 5.1.1 (OG6) and it's working wonderfully.
Helloooo
I have a galaxy s5 900T, but I am in Europe and I have problems with the mobile network.
Individual network frequencies are unavailable, so I do not have 3G and 4G networks in some places.
I'm thinking to install software from Europe version of s5 900f on my s5 909T but I am not sure is that possible.
Can someone explain to me whether it is possible or why not. For example, CyanogenMod is the same ROM for both models (900F and 900T, and mire else s5 with Qualcomm procesor.
Hello,
I am facing the same problem and have the same question
Has anybody an idea if this is feasible or not
Thanks in advance
From what I know, you should never flash official roms from different type of devices. Costum roms are a different thing.
