It might help you if you took the time reading the Amaze 4G Bible.
We recommend every newbie to read it. It provides a lot of useful info.
After reading it and understanding how rooting is done on the amaze, come back.

[TheRootofAllEvo.com] Correction: HtcEvoHacks has a good guide for hboot 1.50 and video walkthrough as well.
There is a "Sticky Rollup" in the Development section of the common links.
I also have some Links gathered up (xda & others) from my hboot 1.50 learning curve so far: http://forum.sdx-developers.com/?topic=18827.0
Follow HTC METHOD for root. Then use CWM for recovery.
HTC will tell you to have latest java installed along with ADB and HTC sync.
Easy as pie... If you get lost one of us will help ya.
I've seen the first thread by the first guys post and it was very very confusing I've never used adb or anything like that so I'm not very familiar with how to get things to work on that
And I seen the second post's link and I'm not sure what to do exactly lol I'm not on my computer right now so I just looked quickly through it to see if I knew the method or not

It's easy follow the steps on HTC DEV when it comes to rooting
Adb is easy once you get the hang of it. The guide isn't bad. Htc uses no the guy who posted his in the DEV section.
Just alot of reading...
i just got my amaze yesterday, i installed the official ics OTA this morning, and now i want to root it. Does the one click root program work for the Amaze while it is on stock ics or would i have to downgrade?
I'm not sure, Look for hasoons all in one tool in the dev section. Has recoveries root and another one specifically for s off. You will find you will use his tool if you flash constantly

Hasoons tool wouldnt work for me when i updated to the WIND ICS OTA, i had to find the sudo package and install it via recovery. it did work for me in gingerbread.. just a heads up..
No one click. Read the stickies... Learn about unlocking bootloaders, 4 ext recovery, flashing superuser in recovery, and supercid. It's all rather simple. PLENTY of threads about it.

That one click does not work. It only works on GB 1.36. The exploit was fixed in 1.43 GB and newer.

Hey guys im looking to get help and a tutorial on how to root the 4g lte on 2.13? I've searched online but still haven't found an answer to my question. So if you are reading this let me know how to root it thanks.
Your only option is to use the htcdev.com method. You cannot get s-off though.

You've already been given a couple links with step-by-step guides.
I suggest reading this guide first to help you understand the terminology better: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1869377
Then if you have any specific questions please let us know. Saying simply that "you still don't know what to do" after being given a couple of direct links to guides will get you nowhere.

Unlocking your bootloader using HTCDev Unlock will allow you to flash a custom recovery. With a custom recovery, obtaining root is easy (plenty of flashable ZIPs for this). This has nothing to do with your version of HBOOT (or firmware or OTA version).
Read the guide I linked to above and it will answer these questions...

Hi everyone,
First time poster here. Recently rooted my own HTC Amaze and thought I'd give veegsej some tips on what worked for me, so here we go
Honestly the best and easiest way to root your phone is to use Hasoon2000's HTC Amaze All-In-One Toolkit! Plug your phone into the computer and follow the onscreen instructions when you open the program.
After you've unlocked the bootloader (from the instructions given in the program), install a recovery- I suggest the first one on the list (4EXT). Under *Extras*, run perm root to push supersu.zip onto your phone. After all that, boot your phone into recovery mode and use 4EXT to find and install supersu.zip file. Once you do this, you'll be fully rooted and good to go!
*Extra tip*- in 4EXT I also recommend you turn on the *Smart Flash* option which will enable your phone to install/flash roms and all sorts of goodies in the future. :victory:
Hope this helps!

You're right the forums do have all the information available. I was hoping my post would at least, in a nutshell, summarize everything that had to be done so he/she would know what to do in just a few short paragraphs.
What if there was a section for noob's for every device?
I bet people would still take the time to say "You need to search!" Lol. Not directed at anyone specific, just a joke

You don't have to S-off to root. But it is better having S-off. That is for the more skilled.
