Hi.
This is my first try at a hack for android. Been readin java previously so i know the basics.
I think there are others that would enjoy this "hack" aswell.
So to the hack i want to make.
Remove notifications while in Car-Dock playing music.
Remove the 25% volume thingy for media volume.
These "features" are incredibly annoying.
If my N1 is in the car dock the media volume goes down to about 1/4.
My notifications go on top of the music. While my N1 is in the car dock im quite sure i would notice a incoming call / sms / email. So there is no actual need for a sound.
What i want to do is remove the lowered volume and all notification sounds when in car dock.
I already removed the car home screen becose its utterly useless.
But this didnt affect the volume as i thought.
If anyone wanna help out with this it would be greatly appriciated
You could use the app PhoneWeaver to fix both issues. It has a car dock trigger and you can turn off all the notification sounds. Also allows you to specify a level for the media volume.
I tried one of these previously.
It removed the sounds. BUT it still muted the music for the moment the notification was supposed to play.
So it didnt disable the notifications. Only muted them.
i would actually like to have mine lowered like you describe, it always seems to crank up the volume so much so that it distorts the sound when i dock it and it is then not adjustable through the settings or through audio manager pro.
I'll have to check out phoneweaver, i emailed audio manager pro and they said there was no plans to set up profiles automatically triggered by docking the phone...
the way i deal with this is i have two home screen shortcuts for audio manager pro that sets all audio and mutes notifications and another that sets it back to normal
holy crap...6.99 for the app, perhaps ill wait to try it out
Ill get to work on this project next week when i have some time.
I get a little popup that shows up every time I turn the volume up on when I use headphones. Is it possible to disable this?
Hi,
I usually charge the phone at night and when I connect the charger the phone beeps so loudly that it wakes up my partner if is she already asleep.
If there is a way to remove the beep or at least reduce the volume?
I actually have a problem with the volume of all notifications... they are too loud... but most can be disabled, while I can't find a way to disable the charging sound notification...
Thanks.

Turnoff your sound? lol
Silent your mobile quickly from the Shortcuts area in pull down menu when you are charging.
Once charging gets completed, Enable the sound.
I must add that I use the "Do not disturb" feature with a night schedule that kicks in before I go to bed so when I connect the phone, "Do not disturb" is enabled with a rule that should allow only priority interruptions. I would say that connecting the charger should not qualify as a priority interruption so the phone should remain silent.
Do I understand that the only way to remove this noise is to set the phone to be fully silent?
S... Priority interruptions only avoid call or notification tones.
System sounds are not avoided. Try disabling system sounds.
How do I disable system sounds?
You can reduce it by manually as usual.
Some idiot programmer believes that everybody in the room should wake up when you decide to charge your phone. There is no individual setting. Do this:
First plug in earphones, then the charger, and then remove the earphones.
Sometimes I come to bed late and when I put my phone on my charger I want it to not make a sound. But I don't want to put it the whole phone on mute in case I get a text or phone call. The 3 previous phones I had did have a setting I just either can't find it on V30 or it is not there.
Mine masked no sound. But I have the system noises turned to zero in the volume control bars
Bumping this thread because I too would like to turn off the sound. Or better yet, change it. But I don't think there is a way. I'm assuming this thread is for Wireless Charging. I honestly think LG forgot to include a sound file for Wireless Charging. Android usually has a file called "WirelessChargingStarted.ogg" in system/media/audio/ui/ but there is not one there. The sound it plays is a notification sound "Crystal" which it is probably defaulting to. Hopefully the Oreo update adds an actual Wireless Charging sound that isn't so annoying or loud.

What about putting it in vibrate mode?

Same here, would like a little reminder, but the current sound is mental. Hope it gets tweaked in Oreo.
I'm looking to turn mine off, as well, but only because I want Tasker to handle it for me, and not make a sound when I'm at work and I put my phone on a wireless charger. (I like to overcomplicate things)
I'll drop this tip here to get more eyes on the situation, but I don't mean to imply that I found the correct option...
Install QuickShortCutMaker from the Play Store. (The icon is a finger pressing a red dot) Then, search through every activity (Start with the Settings application) for a shortcut to charging sounds. Again, I couldn't find it using this method, but I was able to use this same app to get to the Advanced Calling options on my V20, so it can help you get to menus that LG has hidden but not removed from the UI.
Good luck, and report back if anyone finds the right way to turn off charging sounds!
try this way
turn down the volume of 'touch feedback and system' all the way, it should do the trick, and i guess it doesn't affect anything else or at least much important
8.0 installed and still no controls for any type of charging sound control
Installed 8.0 from LG Bridge yesterday and there is still no volume control for charging sound, either wired or wireless, and no custom sound for just charging either. Drats! I too so HATE the lack of this basic feature.

Uh... Yes there is.
It's the volume slider for "touch feedback & system"
Thank You, but...
Thank you, but... I found the Touch Feedback slider as you mentioned., slid it all the way down and it still makes the sound when plugging it into the charger. Darn!
I know necro-posting is frowned upon, but I needed to find the answer to the question again after I had to format the data on my phone.
When you plug in the phone, pull down the bar at the top and long-press the Android System entry that shows what mode the port is set to (Charging, File Transfer, etc...), go to All Categories. Near the bottom, find 'USB connection'. Tap it and then tap 'Importance' and change it to medium.
No sound when any USB cable is plugged in. I haven't found a way do disable/change the charging sounds specifically, but I'm thinking LG modified the OS to not read specific sound files for charging at all, and only uses whatever sound is set in this 'USB connection' dialog.
Also, there is a 'LG_Cable_Connect.ogg' file in /system/media/audio/ui that can be renamed/replaced/removed.
I just upgraded from an S10 Plus. I have my audio settings set exactly the same. When using Google Maps to navigate I have it set to alert only. On the S10 while driving the music would drop in volume, I would get the alert tone and she would say "speed trap ahead" along with the pop-up on the screen asking if the speed trap is still there. On the S23 I only get the pop-up on the screen, no audio notification and the music volume stays constant. Is this a known bug? I would also get notification tones for messages as well, nothing on the S23. If I set it to be completely un-muted the turn by turn directions come through as expected but I have not yet driven through an area where an alert notification would come through while un-muted.
That sounds like a bug because I have a macro set to run everytime I connect to my car to turn down notification volume to 0 so it doesn't mute audio for notifications but calls still ring for me just fine.
