Hello world.
I just bought galaxy s3, but it has soft from the Polish mobile operator "Plus".
It has changed the default boot screen animation to the ugly, blue one.
Is there any way to change it to the default screen from Galaxy S3?
Also is it possible to change the soft to not-branded? So I can have like normal S3 without any operator's things?

You will need to debrand the phone by flashing a stock rom that will debrand the boot as well as software .

Thanks jje for the link.
And is it possible to change the boot screen, without debranding?

Yea it is, but people like to say it is easy and they cant be bothered however,
nobody can give you full detailed guide on how to do it -- they sort of leave it to you to work out..

Hi all,
I just dumped T-Mobile and my galaxy s 2. I went to att and got the same phone but sgh1777 and I want to reduce the number of home screens I have to go through with empty screens, no apps or widgets on them.
could someone please tell me how to do this? I know there is somewhere to go on the phone where you can add and eliminate the number of screens. Thank you SO much, driving me crazy.

Click the menu button and then click edit

If you are running stock I think you pinch to zoom out, and there is a way to remove them there. Or, on the home screen press menu, then edit. Its been a few months since I used TouchWiz launcher or gingerbread.

Pinch to bring up home screen then touch and hold a homescreen and a delete or remove option should come up.
HTH
I believe with bone stock TW, you cannot set your own Home default screen, I think the first one is the dedicated one.

That's with the i9100 versions. That, and the ability to alpha sort the app drawer are the differences between the two.

Were you running a i9100 based ROM? You can force the left home screen to be the default on the i777 version, or any other, it doesn't have to be middle. But the i9100 version doesn't give you the choice.

On a stock launcher you simply pinch in to minimize. You'll see all of your screens. Here if you press and hold one you can move it around to rearrange the order of your screens. You should also see an "x" on each meaning that you can delete a screen that way. Hope this helps
Hey, anyone how to change the default home screen in stock rom ICS without LancherPro (and others)?
The default home screen is always the 4th screen.. ALWAYS!
Anyone?
Add this to your build prop:
ro.csc.homescreen.defaultscreen=3
Change the '3' to whatever screen you want to be the default
(i think this still works for ICS)
btw, this was also the first result in a google search...
is this work for non-root? where can i change this?
You require root
Change your build prop in system as described to 0 .
Rules say post questions in Q&A
jje
Sorry.. anyone can change this for me? Tks
Is there any solution for non-root?
AS said no try joining XDA developers forum and root your phone . If not try a Samsung users forum .
jje
One question how the hell it was on 4th on the first place? If you are stock and not rooted.
Do you even have i9100.
Agree stock is 0 custom are usually 3 or 4 .
OP please check your firmware .
jje
Usually, the easiest way on ICS is editing build.prop/default.prop or using a launcher app.

I saw others posts saying that default.prop has this line (on /system), so you only have to change to the number you want; by default ICS is set to 2 (checked mine here). That means page 3.
I changed mine to = 0 and default home page is now 1. Just rerember to reboot after change it.
Tks for sharing
Sounds about right fella, glad you got it sorted

Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
For some reason i think i included the parameter in wrong default.prop/build.prop and screw up my device, have boot loops but now i re-flashed and his back alive.
Be careful on changing *.prop files
And have fun

On the Samsung Galaxy S, Long Press the Screen until the Widgets Options appears, Clear that with the Return Button, and then there appears a Gear / Cog Icon on the Top Left of the Screen, (it's sort of Transparent, like a WaterMark).
http://www.iconfinder.com/icondetails/23740/128/cog_gear_options_preferences_settings_icon
If the S2 has this Option, then click on this Gear/Cog, and all Available Screens will be Displayed in a Thumb Nail, and click on the one that you want to be Set as your Home Page.
Also, you can Access this by the "Menu~Edit Page" Choices
Anybody know how to Change the Default Home Page on a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX that hasICS?
Probably a dumb question but how do u modify the build prop?

Hello,
I have a problem regarding the Display Font on my I9100 with CM9...
I will post some pictures comparing the Homescreen on CM9 and CheckRom v6...You can see the fonts are beeing displayed different, and on CM9 the bold font is different from the normal one...
I would like to switch to CM9, but i want to keep my mods...
Hope anybody can help me find out what exactly the problem is...
The first two pics are the CM9 Rom, the others the CheckRom v6...
(Since I was not allowed to post in the acctual CM9 Thread, I had to put it here in the Q&A Section)
If the don't offs the problem, you can always change it to whatever font you want
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
I know that I could use another font, but I like this one, and it was hard to mod some things on it, so I would like to keep it...
Any suggestions?
I realized now, that you end up in a Bootloop if changing the RobotoBold font, and probalbly any other bold font?!
Has anybody any solution to this problem?

i believe there are 3rd party apps in the market that does the job
on the side note, you may also try to check in the Themes & Apps Section, perhaps there are mods there
