Hey guys,
my friend is looking for an app that records lucid dreams. She says there is one but in only works on an iphone. do you know if there is also an android app for that...
Thanks,
ITbavaria
Hate to break it to you (and your friend), but there are absolutely no apps that record dreams (of any kind). There are apps that supposedly help you reach the right state of sleep...but that's about it. I'm fairly certain that you can get mp3's that'll do that.
Save yourself the trouble and meditate for free...follow lucid dreaming guides online. Shortcuts USUALLY don't work...either way, you'd look silly sleeping with a phone.
The lucid dreaming app from Alexander Stone works very good. It records your dreaming activity. If you want better data you can even connect it with a Zeo Mobile.

Do people often watch you while you sleep?

How exactly does an app record your dream? Jack into your brain? Do you connect electrodes to your body? Maybe it wirelessly connects, or has special x-ray dream powers?

No, but they would if I strapped a phone to my face and said it recorded my dreams.

Nope, it uses your phone's gyroscope/accelerometer to monitor the movements of your mattress, and somehow figure out your sleep pattern in that way. Doesn't record your dream, just figures out your sleep pattern, and then uses some sort of voice reminder when it believes you are in REM sleep to trigger lucid dreaming.
EDIT: FYI, took about 20 seconds of research for me to find this.

Oh. So it doesn't record your lucid dreams! And here I thought you were trying to make a point, but instead, you were just making useless comments. Thanks for clearing that up.
So when I said this:

...you only read the part where I said you'd look silly sleeping with the phone. The whole part about saying there are apps to help you reach the right state...
Oh well. Maybe you'll be me next time, slick.
So you need an app that use gyroscope etc to record your body movement etc when asleep and conclude?
Im looking for one also!!!

Hello XDA community, I wanted to know if there is a spy application out there that will allow me to record for at least an hour. I ask because I suspect my girlfriend is cheating on me and worst of all I think she's doing it in my crib. I tried out both the stock camera and spy phone but neither seems to record more than 20 or 30 minutes. She starts work latter than me and I think she's had another man in my house.

Lol... I think you need more than a app.

Dam bro. You need to go to your nearest spy shop. Heck buy a digital voice recorder at Super Wally World aka WalMart and leave it recording when you leave. That can record for a couple or more hours. Good luck pal.
Or just go home early if you can?
Isnt there an app for this purpose? I something on current affair where they spy on you thru your own phone.
Bazzle
Thanks for all the feedback so far fellas.

This is probably what I would do. It's small, it's descrete, and it will record while hidden, unlike a camera. Best of luck!
Wow, that sucks! Have you tried the old fashioned method of talking to her?
And if I recall, some of those digital recorders will sit in "standby mode" and only start recording when it detects sound; you can test is with some moaning (sorry, just had to do it).
Best of luck to you...and, don't do anything stupid; no woman is worth jail time
Dunno if you still need help but just stick a camera on record for a ton of hours and hide it in something. A mate of mine cut a little hole in a Mc Donalds drink and popped his camera in there. Caught his wife messing around.
Something real discrete. That or you could just talk to her..
I hope you get it all sorted out soon though. A regular camera set on record for a long time would work fine. Just make sure to use fresh batteries.
Perhaps your phone isn't what you should be using to fix your issue. It'd probably be better for you to talk it out with her, quietly.
Thanks for all the suggestions. Much appreciated

Any updates?

You can use "securet livestream" to see your camera from another place. you can put it even in hidden mode. Or if you have a laptop or a PC with a webcam you can use "vitamin D" its a program that records when a specific point in the screen moves like a dog moving, someone crossing the door or things like that.

basically my mother has developed a extremely terrible seizure disorder and needs eyes and ears on her even when she is just setting in the living room watching television. My father is there to be those eyes and ears but since that consumes most of his time he no longer gets to go to his upstairs workroom and build his radio controlled quadcopters which seems to be the only hobby he still has or enjoys so to speak. I'm looking to get some suggestions on a good app to view the camera of one android phone from another android phone so that either while he is up in the room he has the ability to see and hear her aeither at the touch of a button or widget. I'm searching for something somewhat parent friendly to set up (not to complicated) as all I can do is call and give him the name of it. if anyone has any suggestions on something that might fit the description of this situation please leave a reply with your opinion. thanks for anyone's time, Robert

Two Smartphone = Baby Phone (Baby Monitor, Baby Alarm), also Windows XP/Vista/7
Connect two android phones and/or Windows XP/Vista/7 devices to a mobile baby phone (baby monitor / baby alarm). One device is the sender and placed near the baby. The other device is the receiver taken along. The two devices connect with one another over the internet resulting in a virtually unrestricted transmission range as long as an internet connection is available.

I very much appreciate your reply as I feel this all I can do to help my parents out in there current situation. I am really hoping that the app works without a wifi network because they also do not have Internet from there ISP, they only have basic cable. I very much thank you for your reply and I'll definitely call my dad and tell him to try that app out. Thank you once again.
I told my father about the app and he attempted to set it up but said it wouldn't work without the licence, atleast on one of his phones. does anyone know of a similar app that might be easy to set up and doesn't require wifi home network? it can be paid or free, he just can't do in app purchases on his setup, but he can buy them outright if they happen to be paid and not free. thanks

I am currently researching on the Accident Detection and Alert app. The basic purpose of this application would be that if a person gets into an accident then the android smartphone should automatically detect the accident and send a message to the hospital, insurance company and even alert the family/relatives.
Now, I came across several sensors which can be used in the making of the application but I am not sure about them yet. If I get some idea from you people that would be of great help.
Maybe ask OnStar how they did it?
...sorry, I'll leave now. :sly:
Its possible but look at it this way. What if you drop your phone? Or throw it on the bed, the sensors will detect a big amount of movement and therefore it may trigger the app and making it think there is an accident.
But then again it could be adjusted to a higher tolerance so this may not happen, but I don't see how it will go about.
Seems like a good idea though. Notifying to the relatives and or friends. Hopefully someone can get you started. I'm not as good with these kinds of apps.
All I have to say is. Do a bit of research and ask for assistance like right now. Good luck

On Star ties into the airbag system. It alerts when they deploy.

I would rely on the builtin fearures of the android phones rather then some external devices

Exactly my point, the issue is that I have oto rely on the sensors and the hardware on the phone.

Thank you so kuch for the support, i seriously need it all i get is crticism
Actually, i was thinking that I would work on the app keeping a couple of sensors in use, such as, the motion and the temperature sensor
I would put a condition of values on both of them sensors and the system would activate only if both the sensors reach that value.

Haters gonna hate. Thats the only way to look at it. Its a cool piece of hardware but theres haters for everything. Hell you tell people the battery will last 2-3 days and they scream bloody murder, "oh it sucks, thats horrible!". Then you tell them the Apple iWatch battery will only last 8 hours and they are all like " oh well thats probably ok" (I dont actually know what the iWatch battery is like). I did just go on a little rant here. It should give you some insight into why people talk bad about it.
Thanks I'll check that out

I just got mine yesterday and so far I like it. I had the original Gear 1 and a Moto 360. I will say that the Moto 360 seemed to work better with Google stuff such as Hangouts, but it was far more limited as a device compared to the Gear S. I loaded the Gear Notification Extender, and now I can reply to both Gmail and Hangouts using the Gear S, very nice!
I do like the option of using something like the Opera Mini Browser to view Gmail and such. And I can't wait to try it out this spring while cycling, it would be nice to leave my phone at home or in the car when riding my bike.
Hope this helps.
its a fantastic piece of kit
to be fair i've struggled with it a bit understanding the settings and permutations but the functionality seems to be improving day by day.
the choice of useful apps isn't massive but that hasn't been a problem for me personally,
I'm not a great fan of the interface on my related S4 smartphone but i can live with that
the liberation of just having the watch (ok with your compatible samsung plugged in or turned on somewhere else) is the main attraction for me
i dont understand the haters especially those deriding the battery life, the appearance (it looks great on your wrist in real life), the concept ( i don't think i need one why would anybody else?) or the need to have a samsung phone to go with it ( I'm not charmed by that either that but Samsung are no worse than others in that regard and there are I guess technical reasons why it has to pair with something short of being a brick on your wrist) at least with the Gear S that pairing can be at a distance or indeed you can just use it as a phone on its own
some people have posted here and on android central that they have returned the watch but most actual users who see the use case for them, have checked out the limitations, have persevered or been patient with some of the glitches and understand why its the best in its class
i see your a "senior member" so apologies for showing granny how to suck eggs - apart from that buy it - or hang on a little longer to see if there really is a Gear S 2 coming soon!

What type of lights are you turning on and off? And what brand camera? I didn't see your apps on gear store
Thats because i wrote the apps for myself.
My home lights via domoticz
Accessing a cctv server system to view live images.
Might adapt them for the store at some stage but presently just because i wanted them.

Hey, i have a big addiction problem with screens, usually i use buttoned phone rather than smartphone.
But sometimes there is a need for messenger to chat with people to meet them and calendar might come in handy.
So far i haven't found an app that could efficiently block screen time for some apps. They all have some bugs or workarounds.
I was thinking about rooting phone and deleting apps that make me addicted the most like browser, youtube, app store..
Would that work? Or maybe you have some good recommendations regards to some app or other method?
Would love to have smartphone in my pocket for only important things ,but i know eventually it will get out of hands.
That's the reason i don't have tv or have restricted pc usage

Could you try turning it off, for eg an hour a day?
Maybe start turning it off for 10 minutes and increase it as tolerated?
Do something distracting during this time, eg go for a walk?
Bit like stopping smoking, I guess.
HTH

Have tried this. Eventually I will get hooked again.
For smoking, only thing that worked was just stop and never touch it again.
Works with smartphone also, but the thing that wants me using it is fb chat with newly met people.
I see alot of people who have problem with phones, but they seem to not give damn.
For me I see big drop in quality of life so I need to find a workaround.
This is something yo u will have to learn to deal with. Smartphones are gonna be almost as widely used in our lives as laptops are. You will just have to curb your usage. Like after I get off work. My phone goes on a charger and I never touch it again until the next morning, unless it rings of course.
