With the recent increase of development for the HTC Legend, I'm curious as to what ROM people are currently using on there device.
If you take part in the poll, can you please reply with the reasons behind why you are using your chosen ROM. Noting advantages and disadvantages of the ROM. I think this could be a good way of informing people if they are thinking of rooting or changing ROMs.
I'll start off, I'm using Zeubea's CM9 BETA3 mostly because I like the look of ICS and it's features. It has a few bugs and features missing but at the moment I can live with the various hiccups.
ogo2's Gingerbread Sense ROM. Hands down the best ROM for the summer.
It's fluid, slick, sexy, works with a2sd with some tweaking, and the reboots aren't annoying at all.
Zeubea's Rom, absolutely. It is great, smooth, non perfect but ICS. And it is going to be perfect!
i'm currently on extremelegendfuse 2 ,which is a modded c.m. 7.1 rom and i'm more than happy and satisfied with it. fast.smooth,stable. everything work as stock only better! however i will try Venus Rom by homi3kh as soon as i find more time! Congrats to all devs!!!!!

Ah I knew I was missing a ROM.... is it possible to edit poll items? I can't seem to find an option for it.
the privous ROM is sense2.1+2.3.3, but now is a ported ROM Ligux rc0 based on cm7.2 from a chinese cell phone forum
Still CM 7.1

Using zeubea's CM9 port. Only a couple of issues, but it's surprisingly stable for a beta. I haven't had a single reboot or fc yet! Well happy. If only there was a way to apply sense 3.6 to ICS for our devices.
Zeubea CM9
I'm on Zeubea's CM9 beta 3. First ROM I installed after rooting my Leged. Works pretty much flawlessly and love the ICS eye candy and functionality.
Hope he'll attempt a Jelly Bean ROM when source comes out
Zeubea's CM9 beta 3 too~
my first rom and its really smooth, ics run fine on this device! (compare to the stock rom and all bloatware...)
Was on ics but I got tired of not able to pickup calls. Been using it since beta 0 where camera just started working to beta 3. Will wait for newer version.
Currently running homi3kh latest with jellybean stuff for about a week. Its stable, I can see he put lots of efforts into cooking his ice like rom. So far so good.

+1 using cm7.2.0 my self ATM.
Although, zeubeas rc2 is really good now, most stable so far, I still have a few probs, although it seams I'm one of the minority that have GPS issues with it, and a few other little things.....

CM 7.2 until CM 9 stable is released
CM 7.1 legend fuse2 , for now i think that there is no reasonable alternative of this ROM - stable(no lag, no freeze, everything work smooth) , good batery lifetime, good performance

Yeah, I've tried that.. Looking for more of a stock gingerbread look.
Thanks!
Well my personal favorite is MIUI. Although it's not officially supported there are a few floating around. I couldn't say which is the most stable though. I'd like to know as well haha. I just came to Thunderbolt a few days ago so still newish to Thunderbolt

I know you said other than CM7, but CM7 builds by protek and liquid smooth roms v3.1 will get you a nice clean stock gingerbread rom. Also, liquid smooth roms v3.0 is good as well! Bad thing about miui is, mms does not work last I heard.
Try liguid 3.2 its small fast and highly customizeable. I get quad scores between 29 and 3200 at 1.5 ghz

The last stable cyanogen build from October (by slayher) is what I ran until I switched phones last week. Worked fine with no issues for me. Every other AOSP ROM is built off of it anyways and has the same RIL.
So I've always run Cyanogen on my HTC Legend but now is time for a change due to some things I want to change.
This led me to wonder which ROMs are out there and which are the best.
Check out devils rom's or ogo's Ginger bread rom.
But like you I am still using cm 7.1 cause its the most stable rom out there.

Hi I've used quite a few rom's from xda, Ive also used cyanogen's many different versions too, my favorite rom by far is ogo's gingerbread, infact I rooted my phone only because of this rom. My signature is always my current rom.
I've even made a few of my own changes to ogo's and have made it even better for myself, since my changes, it seems to be even more stable.
I've been using it as my daily for about 4 weeks now & can't remember having any random reboots.
Only thing missing is wifi hotspot but I don't care about that feature.

I am use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1303975&page=3 ROM. It's better then CM7.2 (KANG).
Just flashed Gingerbread, really not keen on it though, will try your version of CM7.1 now
That version was uploaded with megaupload... Fail.
Decided to download a nightly and fix the issues I had with CM7. And it seems to have fixed what I wanted.
I've been using the official Sense ROM, but right now I'm using CM7.1.
I recomend you Cyanogenmod (7.1.0 or the latest KANG), the other ROMs are just not stable enought for me .
Soon ill be using Extreme Legend Fuse

Yeah with the ****ty kernel .35 with awful wifi's drivers, whiches freeze the phone all the time
running cm7
CRQ 1.3. It's a simple 2.2 rom but that's exactly what I wanted, since tether on the 2.3 rom I tried only works ad-hoc, and fails to connect to the Transformer on ICS.
Really want to try a new rom now but I hate Gingerbread and that's the base for most.

Hi all,
My cousins atrix has started playing up (keyboard crashes, browser force closes etc) and ive advised that he change roms. Ive been looking though this forum for the past hour or so and am surprised to see so many roms - you guys have so much choice! (Ive got an optimus black and weve got maybe about 4 roms which is nothing compared to you guys!)
Anyway my cousin is a bit of a noob so I dont want to install a rom that will cause problems. Which rom should I install on his atrix please?
Thanks
The most recent releases of CM7, including CM7.2 RC1 and the most current nightly releases, have been pretty stable for me. I couldn't tell you about the non-CM7 ROMs (i.e. the ones based on the stock Atrix ROM) as I haven't used one for quite a while. There are several so-called CM9 ROMs out (based on ICS), but IMHO they aren't stable enough if you rely heavily on your phone, though they are getting there.

Im using joker's cm9. Its actually stable enough to be used as a daily driver. Yes the rom is in beta so there are bugs like video recording/playback, multitouch and small probs here and there due to missing ics drivers.

I agree - If your cousin doesn't need the fingerprint reader or webtop go with CM7 for now till the devs get the issues worked out on CM9.
Another vote for CM7. Its absolutely rock solid, and the weekly builds have fingerprint scanner support. CM9 is pretty good, but as has been mentioned its missing a few features and does have a few bugs that prevent some from being able to use it as a daily driver.
CM7 RC1 is where it's at now, no issues whatsoever for me.
Anyone know what is the progress of webtop on CM7 or 9?
Instead of CM7, I'd reccomend Neutrino. Install GO Launcher EX, ICS theme for the launcher and system and you've got yourself the best GB ROM with ICS-look.

Useless things such as TTS, VPN and Languages have been removed to make the ROM smaller. You just gotta flash a few more tiny .zip's...
Neutrino is better than CM7 at the base level. I reccomend you flash Neutrino GT+ version and under/overclock the CPU according to your needs.

+1 ╰☆╮Neutrino ROM V2.6╰☆╮ ....it is the best for battery and performance in my view....if you need the blur (webtop)... all three of Nottach roms are great although he supports only NottachTrix4G....
+1 for CM7.
I'd recommend you CM7 with faux kernel.

I found myself flashing around 20 add-ons to get the phone to work properly.
For a first time custom rom flash I'd go with Nottachtrix, very stable and Aroma Installer makes it very easy to customize to your liking.

I flash ROMs like crazy and I have to say Neutrino is by far the greatest rom! So what if you have to flash a few zips....thats how he made such an amazing rom...He stripped it down to the basics and you add the stuff that you want. I use the GT version but underclock to 1.00GHz most of the time...Saves battery but if I need the power, its available to me. 2.7 is out now....it has a wifi bug on the GT and GT+ versions though. You have to reflash faux's kernal to fix. Otherwise just use EE version. Its plenty fast enough without overclock.
What is your favorite ICS ROM? Wondering which one is the best/has the fewest bugs and issues. Thanks everyone in advance

jokers build
its stable
every ICS rom got the same bugs due to the lack of proper drivers
That's interesting, so any differences will be in features?

You would be able to try out several of them fairly easily with Kitchen Sink:

I agree. I'm using MIUI V 2.4.27 which is based on Jokersax 0.5 CM9 build.
It is amazing. It turned my unbelievably unbearable Telstra Atrix on 2.3.4 to a device that is smoother than any other android I've used...
I'm running mine with the Atrix-CM9-Kernel-025b-ext4-1.45GHz and its stable at 1.45GHz all day every day with excellent battery life.
It's funny I get 2x the battery life on the MIUI Rooted ROM with custom kernel than I did on the Telstra 2.3.4 stock ROM.
Hello all!
I know This is probably the most broad question asked, but I am curious. Ive been through a few old builds of JB (CM10 and varients of Kang) but they never quite were stable for a daily driver build. So im curious, as of right now, what do you think the most stable JB Roms are out there. And when I mean stable, I mean daily driver status. I would like to try each one individually and give it my own review but I have neither the time nor the patience to trudge through them all. So just an overall consensus would be fantastic! Im running Blackstar VII now and I honestly LOVE it, but equalizers do not play nice with that particular Rom and unfortunatly thats a bit of a deal breaker for me. Thank you for the help!!

SlimBean has been the most stable for me so far although it still has random reboots.
The latest CM10 nightly was not bad, fastest yet but still had occasional reboot. Testing cookies n cream now, bout an hour in and so far flawless.

ParanoidAndroid (PA) is awesome. Along with JB, PA's options to adjust DPI is a nice feature for a big-screen phone like Note.
Also, JamieD81, the dev for this rom, is officially recognized by PA Team and XDA, and has been diligent with updates.
But almost all CM10 roms will have the same type of bugs (if any), because of the CM10, not the rom itself. And many of these bugs are being addressed and the roms are being updated accordingly as well. You can try different ones I guess, but I have not found a reason to even try something else.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1686320
So it sounds like Liquid Jellybean and Paranoid Android has been the most stable. Test both ROMs out and decide witch fits you better. Have fun!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
The RC3 and RC4 builds of Liquid JB have been rock solid. No screen flicker, no lost APN settings and the only soft reboots I've gotten are directly related to VLC beta. Great feature set and frequent updates.
