I tried to do the GSM radio mod and was able to get that to work just fine. I was able to flash back to a stock ROM and get sprint service back working. However, now when flashing custom ROMs, I get insufficient storage errors. I looked in the settings-storage and there are 2 different internal storage, one around 40mb and one that is the real one. But it's using the smaller space as the "default". Any ideas on how to re-partition it or something? Do I need to back to a stock ROM and do something? I looked on google but most had to do with the specific phone, not sure if it's different for the Photon.
edit: went back to "stock", was showing the app space right, reflashed ICS, shows up now. How weird. Nevermind!

I wanted to clear out my SD card so I used the setting in clockworkmod to repartition the SD card, but that apparently wiped out the system partition and after doing that my phone would not boot up. It would just get stuck at the Vibrant screen. After MANY attempts with ODIN, I finally was able to use Odin3 V1.7 along with Eugene_2E_JK2_Froyo to get a ROM on it and get my phone to boot back up, however now I can't update any apps or download new apps. When I look at the settings, it shows available app space as 0. There is plenty of system space and plenty of space on the SD card.
When I used Odin, the V1.7 version automatically checked the option to re-partition, but that doesn't seem to have changed the partition size. How can I get my Vibrant back to good working order? I can't install ClockworkMod again to try and flash a different ROM. Is there any way to change the available application storage space?
I'm pretty desperate at this point.
Thanks,

Can you Go into recovery & then into mount options & format data... worse case is to odin to stock then flash this over...
use the toolbox
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=954509
No luck. If I use the toolbox and flash to stock Rom the phone doesn't fully boot. I get an error immediately after it reboots that says checksum error and then failed to wipe. I then see the Vibrant screen and the T-Mobile boot animation but then the phone goes completely black and does nothing. It seems that none of these processes are correcting the partition size problem that was created when I did the partition command in ClockworkMod. I'm just guessing, but if all of these are doing a format and not actually resizing the reserved application space partition then I'm never going to get a ROM to work.
I'm thinking that I may have to see if I can get it replaced under warranty since in it's current state T-Mobile shouldn't be able to tell that it was rooted. I hate to have to go through all of that though.

Do you have repartition in Odin checked?
I found several other posts regarding this exact same issue and everyone concluded there is no fix and it has to be replaced. Luckily I'm still under warranty and T-Mobile is sending me out a new one. Oh well...
I unlocked my bootloader, rooted, installed amon ra recovery, have flashed a couple different roms. This morning i flashed scott's cleanrom 4.0 booted up everything seemed to be looking fine. However i went to look in my gallery for photos and it just pops up the screen sd card unmounted. So i went to setting storage and clicked mount sd card and it says preparing sd card, but doesnt do anything. So then i looked in the file system. under /sdcard it says sd card empty mounted or unpresent. sdcard2 isnt even a file system (not positive its supposed to be) so basically i only have access to the RAM i think? ive rebooted, factory reset, id try flashing a new rom, but i cant mount the darn cards on the computer to flash a new rom (maybe i could do this from cmd with fastboot or something?) ive thought about trying to format the sd cards but im not sure how to do this especially since the internal one is also having troubles.
I would really appreciate help on this as i cant hardly do anything on this besides texts and phone calls right now!
Thanks for any help

Well, when you say you flashed a couple of roms.. the only rom at the time that would work with the new base was the stock rom that came with the RUU. Scott , then had the first rom with the new base. Using the old roms on the new base caused SD card issues that your describing , but I figured flashing Scott's rom would have fixed it . Easiest fix is if you backed up the stock rom that came with the RUU, if not only thing I can think of is to RUU again and start over. I know Dres is looking into this issue for Amon Ra in case the dev blocks changed , but until he does I would think reflashing RUU is the easiest suggestion.
Problem Solved
Thanks so much! I flashed the latest (that I could find) RUU 3.11.605.1 i got the boot.img and the stock rom out of the RUU and flashed them using fastboot and Amon Ra respectively. When I booted back up the sd cards were properly mounted and everything seems fixed. Thanks again for the quick helpful response!
Now, I still don't exactly understand what I did wrong. So let me try to get some things strait. So the latest RUU is the latest version of the leaked ROM (from HTC?) in question, ICS in our case. So whenever a new RUU is leaked all the developers build new roms on this RUU? and if i say, had been flashing roms from an old RUU, and then flashed a rom from a new RUU (maybe i also forgot to wipe things?) caused problems?
I'd just like to get a better idea of what the problem actually was, and why what i did fixed it. Hopefully someday i won't be so dependent on the great minds here on xda.
Thanks again for everything!
I'm in a similar boat.
I'm in a similar boat. I went straight from stock rooted gingerbread to CleanRom ICS and now I can't get the sd card to mount. CleanROM just kept rebooting over and over. I'm going to try the suggestion by the OP. Hopefully that fixes the problem.
I guess the dev block changed from the old base to the new. Amon ra is already updated. So when you Ruu again and ran the new stock it matched so fixed it. Just don't rum old roms or backups.

Go into my ICS thread or any of the ICS threads and download the patch to run the new build on the old firmware to fix the mounts
I have kind of similar issue. My phone storage and sdcard are swapped. I only rooter and installed AmonRa recovery. I put 9gb of music on my card, but in setting my card looks empty and my phone storage only has 80m left.
Any ideas?
Thanks
what firmware are u on... u probably need to flash the other amonr ra version if you are on 3.14 flash 3.15 or vice versa
First off I want to say that this site is amazing, over the past week I have learned so much off here. So to all the moderators/developers "Here's to you Sirs"
My question involves the Liquid Smooth JB ROM. I love the ROM but Im having some issues. I did a lot of research before I even attempted to root my device and install anything (my wife actually told me not to lol) Anyways I rooted and installed the Clockwork recovery touch. Moved the ROM and Gapps onto my external SD, and installed both. Had no issues. After a few days I went to move some photos over to my SD and now my phone will not recognize my external SD. It doesnt show up in any of the explorer apps I have, nor will Clockwork recognize it. I tried to hook my phone to the computer to see if I could find it and it doesnt show up there either.
What do I need to do to get my phone to recognize an external SD again.
Also my 2nd not so important question is, does the liquidsmooth ROM support 4G LTE? Before I rooted my signal icon would show as either 4G or LTE, now it only shows H+. I did a speed test and it seems like Im getting the same 4G speed its just not showing as 4G. Is this something in the ROM or something with my phone and can it be fixed.
Thx in advance for any info regarding either of these issues.
Not sure bout the first but the second question...ur answer is H+ is the same thing as 4G...just different icon...not sure why it changed on you but its the same

It's a long shot ...but the above link is a complete ICS leak rom for this device.
The source link is older, but several other users have pushed this file and restored function to the sd card.
The image contains the full PIT file structure, baseband etcetera, and will restore the device to complete stock.
Flash counter excluded of course ...but that's easy.
You likely have partition damage in the #4 partition, which houses the other 4.
The device has 5 total, and something causes damage.
I personally think that CWM is doing the damage, but I can't prove it ...yet
If you are willing to take a long shot, then push the file by using Odin.
It should work...but as always....you do this at your own risk.....as STANDARD DISCLAIMERS APPLY....g
I am having this same issue. Except I am using AOKP JB and TWRP recovery. External SD worked fine for about the first month with AOKP. Then at random it started to dismount its self. I would get notifications of a bad or damaged SD card, or unexpected removal of SD card. Reformatted, didn't help.
That lasted a week or 2, then it stopped completely and just like OP, I can not locate my external sd by phone, or computer, its like the slot is empty. That was months ago. I kind of gave up on it.
I will probably be returning to stock and having the device replaced under warranty anyway, due to my USB charging port failing.
P.S. This is the 2nd time I have had a charging port on the note go bad and be replaced under warranty...
If I flash that ICS ROM and it restores the SD card can I then flash back to the JB ROM? I was kinda tired of ICS. I'll keep looking around but I may have to take it back to factory and reset flash counter so I can just get a new one. Would getting a new SD card work?

Test your SD card first, before doing any work on roms.
If you flash the ICS leak, it will take away root, and you will have to push CWM back too the device via Odin.
After that, you can flash any rom you wish.
This leaked build is a full build, and will restore stock function to the device anyway, (minus the flash counter) and is a good test when searching out partition problems etc.
But yes, do the SD card test first....g
Hi Everyone,
I have an issue with my VZW GS4. All of my storage seems to be utilized by "phantom" files. I was updating my playstore apps yesterday and I got a memory almost full error. I only have 1 GB pictures, .5 GB music, and .3 GB applications used. I know the system is using almost half of the my memory off the bat, but looking at the files above, it did not make sense that I would only have 300 MB left out of 9GB or so available to me.
My device was rooted, but was still on the VRUAMDK Kernel flashed after rooting. I had Titanium backup installed but did not actually do any backups. I had CWM manager installed and had one recovery that took up a small amount of memory, so I wasn't sure what would be taking up all my memory.
I decided I wanted to do a wipe on the phone after backing up my pics/music to see if i could wipe the memory and start clean. I wiped the device using the stock recovery app and the phone still only has 4.2GB free. I guess a wipe/factory reset does not clean EVERYTHING off the SD card. When I go into the Device Memory section in settings, it appears I have half of memory free, but it still lists 4.2GB available. I did a file usage analysis and it does not listed Could something I had done in CWM Rom Manager created some hidden files that wouldn't get wiped? Does the GS4 auto software update download to a hidden folder before being installed? The phone recently download the new ME7 firmware which I did not install yet.
Using an android file browser i've looked around the SD card system folders but I would have no idea what would be taking up so much room. Has anyone else had an issue like this? Can I wipe the non-system partition of the SD card somehow? I am just not familiar with this and I wouldn't want to mess up the OS somehow.

Looks like a CWM recovery was sitting in root/data/media. I found this solution in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2274218
Hi.
I did something wrong. Very wrong and now i need help from you, the experts.
I've been trying out the new roms (minimalos, cm13, xpe) and once i went in recovery and did a "format "/data". I have no idea why i did that. After that, the phone wouldnt go to os. Tried several things. And now, for example, cwm couldnt show any data. I could flash a new rom but that was all. Tried repitting with I91001GB_4GB.pit or the original one and no difference (heimdall). I had enough of all and i flashed back to stock from sammobile but the problem persists - no data avaliable or internal sd. If i try to take a photo in stock it says "turn off usb storage before using camera".
Mainly, the problem is that i cannot access internal or external storage (well, microsd is accessible via recovery). Nothing shows up in filemanager (stock or cm13) and i cannot use any app that uses storage of anykind (camera, filemanager,...).
Any advice of whats the next step of fixing this back to normal?

Format internal sd card(sdcard0) as default(vfat) from recovery and you should be able to access internal storage again
