[Q] .748 to ics ota - Motorola Droid RAZR

I am running abysm 1.1 on.748 .. I know I am way behind in the ROM game but as soon as I got the.phone I rooted and used safestrap after making a backup of the original state of the phone and then never had the time to fiddle with updating. Now that the new ics is out ota.. What do I need to do to get it up and running.. Do I just restore my backup and turn safestrap off uninstall it and do the update? Thanks in advance

If you want to be able to get back to gingerbread, try these instructions:

Removing Clockworkrecovery

Seeing how the owners of Incredible facing issues upgrading to Froyo if they use Clockworkrecovery on a rooted phone, I am wondering if we might hit the same issues when the OTA upgrade comes. So when the time comes I'd like to bring the phone back to as close to stock as possible without flashing the original 2.1 via ODIN.
So how does one remove the CWR?
Is it just simple uninstall of the ROM manager and removing /sdcard/clockworkrecovery directory?

Usually the same day as a OTA we will get a .zip that we can flash if you want to have the stock ota update. If not that day then within the week.

Back to Stock??

Ok so im currently running EB01 with SC 2.9.2 with Nitro Honeycomb theme but since most of us here already know verizons OTA 2.2 is going to be released tomorrow so what i want to do is go back to stock so that the update will go through successfully (i know i could stay where im at but i want to see if theres anything special in there since it took so long to get the update!!)
what i want to know is what is the easiest way to go back to stock (no root, no CWM) but not do a data clear as i would like to not have to redownload all my apps.
anyone got any tips? i have the DL01 odin package if worse comes to worse ill just do that and suck it up and redownload everything.
Thanks!
It was said million times: get Titanium Backup, backup your apps/data and odin DI01.

Razr MAXX - Can I get OTA ICS on rooted phone?

Wife has a Razr MAXX through Verizon. I have previously rooted it and frozen some Bloat, but aside from that, it is stock. Android 2.3.6 and System ver 6.12.181.XT912.
Recently, the phone started getting Software update notifications, I am assuming this is the OTA ICS. My question is if I can somehow upgrade the phone to ICS (not a custom ROM, but stock or very stock-ish) and either not have to wipe the phone, or not have to unroot and the re-root (if that is even possible on ICS yet.)
Loaded questions, sorry, but I just want my wife to experience ICS without her b*tching about custom ROMs and so I can backup her APK+Data in Titanium.
Thanks in advance of your responses!

Well, I decided to bite the bullet and just did a complete App/Data backup and flashed the Fastboot ICS files using RSD Lite. So far, it looks like things went well and I will root it and restore. Sorry for creating this thread, I guess I am too antsy!

[Q] How would you get to ICS?

I have a Droid RAZR that I've ran several roms on.
I am currently on .173 stock rooted. I've unrooted in the past and tried to take on the .181 OTA but it will not install the update. I take from other threads is due to me deleting certain system files I've seen as bloatware?
I am wanting to get to ICS then load Simplex 1.2.
How would you go about getting to ICS if your phone was stuck on .173 and wouldn't willingly update?
I know I can force it but am unsure if I am safe doing so or not..
Thanks for any help.

From what I can tell, you're either going to have to restore those system files or use RSDLite to flash it back to stock

[Q] How to unroot and restore apps?

i unrooted my ics official rom i777 using ODIN and then backed up with cwm n also titanium back up. I then flashes the latest shostock3 rom and tried to restore my apps but about 30 odds apparently couldnt be restored which if i recall the prompt correctly was due to them being incompatible with the rom.
After using the shostock3 rom i realized im getting really bad battery life so i wanted to unroot and try the official jelly bean update on kies. But i'm a little confused on how to restore the apps i backed up using titanium after unrooting if i it cant work without root access. I understand the process to be wipe, flash official rom but then wouldnt i then not be able to restore my apps and data after that?
After you flash back to stock, just use Framaroot to root it, then TiBu will work.
