i have gotten the flight mode, sound, and battery icons to change as well as the wifi icons, but for some reason the signal icons are not changing..
is there another copy somewhere else.. i have searched in the framework-res but the signal icons in here are not the ones currently in use.

[Q] Change status bar icons in

I'm looking to change the status bar icons (particularly the icons for signal strength). I've replaced the pngs in drawable-HDPI in both the framework-res.apk and the SystemUI.apk, but I see no change in the icons. Any suggestions/ideas on how to change them? I'm running GingerJane.

Are you using metamorph or ninjamorph? I've never had any success using metamorph, personally. I just cut the crap and use ninjamorph. Yeah,a little more work, but I see results
Tbolt meatclaws-talkatap
Which ones in SystemUI did you change and what ROM are you using? IIRC, Ginger BAMF uses cdma_sys_4signal_0 - 4 currently.
Hell, i can't even find system UI , where did you find it.
I read it was under system/ app/ ? but its not there.
Would like to change my signal strength icons.
I used ninjamorph and the .png are there
framework.resapk/res/drawable-hdpi.
and when i start the phone the .png image is there for signal strength
but as soon as the TB connects to service it reverts back to stock.
Any ideas anyone.
I read and read and no one seems to know how to fix this.
Anyone?
I have changed bluetooth and battery to rpm gadge for the battery
and blue icon for bluetooth and gps icon. But can't change signal strength
or 4g icon.

SystemUI is only for Gingerbread ROM's. If you don't see it in system/app (SystemUI.apk) then you are not on Gingerbread. For Froyo, the signal strength icons and the 4G icons are located in com.htc.resources in /system/framework. In fact, every status bar icon that is in com.htc.resources.apk in Froyo, was moved to SystemUI for GB. Hope this helps.
yes that helps thank you very much.
hopefully i can change the icons now.
i will post back when i find out.
update: Nope didn't change them still I will play with it some more.
Maybe there is another area i goto change.
Signals showed when it booted up but as soon as it connected
the signal reverted back to white bars again.
Update 2: OK! I got the 4g to change to purple from the icon from droidpirate.
I had to zip aline them when it asked , i said yes and that worked. YES
Now all i have to do is go back and reasign the signal icons and select yes to zip aline them.
I hope that works for the signals. Trying to put in the bullet icons for signals from droidpirate.com site.
Update 3: Still no go with the signal bars. Dam!
There has to be another area or something else i have to change.
Will report back, i remeber reading i might have to change it in
two areas, I can't remember now.
Update 4: Well i have change ever icon except the stupid signal white bars.
don't understand when i boot the TBolt, the bullet icon with a little red x shows (sys sig null) shows up
Until the phone actually gets the signal then it reverts back.
May im not changing the correct item. Its saying its the same and the icon i want to change (stat_sys_signal_0.png thru -4.png)
they are showing in ninjamorph as changed icons but not when i boot up.
Do i need to change them in another area?
http://droidpirate.com/2010/10/23/metamorph-signal-buuf/
above link is what im trying to set as my signal icons ( im on froyo not gingerbread)
Thanks again for the help.
Ok i am able to use ninjamorph on the thunderbolt.
But i still can't change my signal icons, and the crosshairs e911? icon.
I have tried twice with ninjamorph.

Keep mind the framework for the Note is little different. Where most of the other devices the images were on "dwawable-hpdi", note also use the new "dawable-xhpdi"

[MOD] Circle 1% Batteries, Black Status Bar, Blue Toggles vrtheme (updated 6.8.13)

This will add blue 1% circle battery with white numbers, blue toggles with black background and white text, black status bar instead of the grey looking color, and remove the location icon from the status bar, and add a semi-transparent pulldown. This uses the vrtheme engine and will work on odex and deodex rom. Just flash in recovery and reboot. Tested using TWRP and stock odex rom.
-status bar is transparent when using stock wallpapers, and black in apps and if using custom wallpaper.
-updated with a semi-trans pulldown
-Updated with a V2 of this has dark grey background behind toggles, and notification row, and made a new clear button. Screenshot will be shown at the bottom ill put a v2 on the screenshot pic.
-Updated with a V3 it is the same as V2 but now has transparent status bar with any wallpaper, will still be black when in apps.
-Updated added a new version with an orange circle battery, slightly darker toggle backgrounds, and added a smooth charge animation.
-Updated- added a V4 with the blue battery. added the new toggle backgrounds, and darkened the toggles when off, smooth charge animation, made the battery text about as big as possible without cutting into the battery.
Thanks to KryptosX for the battery icons as they are the only ones I can find that are high resolution for our phones to not look all fuzzy.
Just installed on deodexed stock. Worked great thanks.
Just updated the OP with a new version that has a semi-trans pulldown, can be seen in the screenshots

Just flash both mods separately they won't interfere with each other

Ok thanks.
Hi rwc95. Really appreciate you're work on making a 1% mod. I made these ones for the S3 (100 charges and noncharge batteries)....and been working on converting them without image loss. You're mod will allow me to put them on the S4, so thanks a lot for that.
Working on the white battery right now, and was wondering if you could add the signal bars as a separate mod?. This will allow me to change them to the ones in the pic.
Also, if possible could you remove all toggles from the pulldown . I like the old droid look of a clean pulldown. Thanks if you can, and if you need any graphic work let me know.

Yeah I can do the signal bars no problem, Ill look into removing all the toggles, probably be a day or two since I got work. Let me know when you get the white battery done im pretty interested in that. Ill just make a little vrtheme zip for you that only does the signal bars so you can just replace them with yours and flash. Also by looking at your screen shot you might be interested in my other mod that removes the ongoing wifi notification in the pulldown plus the little dim eye from smart stay. I just upped it in my other thread.

You have to edit some files in a few xmls to get it to recompile. It's in two xmls but I'm away from my pc so I can't remember off my head. I can send you the edited xmls to drop in later tonight when I get home from work if you want them. And just using Apk tool 152.

yeah if you can send me those tonight, that would be awesome.
Looks great, thanks. Any way that you can incorporate the WiFi nag removal into this???? That would be awesome.
Also the smart eye removal, or relocation, since it looks a bit funny sitting right in the middle now.

Made a V2 of this mod changed a few more things in the pulldown can be shown in the screenshot here and I added one to the OP. Im open to any suggestions of anything you guys want or thing would look good or better. I change things a little all the time till I get to my liking . The V2 in the screenshot is just there to show which one it is it not there for real, but someone will probably ask lol.
Works great thank you!
Added a V3 of this that looks the same as the V2 but now has transparent statusbar with any wallpaper instead of just on stock. The bar will still be black when in apps due to the app not filling in behind the bar.
Great Mod, works great on HyperDrive. Thanks for the work.
Im working on this one should be done later today, white stock 1% battery, white toggles, and little different shades on the backgrounds trying to get them just right on the backgrounds so they are dark but dont all blend together or too light they look weird lol.

CM10.2, old style WiFI and Data icon in statusbar

I must admit I miss the old style wifi and data icons in statusbar, where I could see arrows for up and down (yellow, green) attempts.
The arrows which are flashing, in CM10.2 also do exist, but they are too dark, almost invisible.
Is there any way of changing them while on cm to be more spotable?

Try themes for CM. There are many of them and almost all change icons in status bar

This Touchwiz looks great, I've just installed it, but somehow very colorfull
Is there a theme like the default CM theme just with these 2 icons like stock?
Btw... do this additional themes make the phone lags a bit or not?
