[Q] can't repair through pc companion - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

I've updated my phone to Android 4.0.4 earlier through the PC companion, now i want to repair it through the companion again but it keeps saying: unable to install or start phone software update components. i've tried reinstalling PC companion, turning off firewall and anti-virus and did everything i could find on the internet about it but nothing worked. i tried to update through the Update Service but while synchronizing it says: an unexpected error has occurred. the application will shutdown. what should i do about it?

[Q] Stuck in Flash Mode!

Please Help
While attempting to update to 2.1 through SEUS, the installation failed, telling me that my battery was too low. The phone is now stuck in flash mode, the SE logo flashes for a brief moment, then I am met by a screen with a phone and an Exclamation Point in a triangle for awhile, then the phone restarts and does it again.
I have obviously tried removing the battery and trying again. SEUS has the same result every time I attempt this. I have also installed PC Companion, and one of two things happen 1) PC Companion completely hangs my Win7 (32bit) machine, or 2) Prepares to repair the phone, and while 'preparing', an error pops up and directs me to the webpage.
Please give me some suggestions, as the phone won't even boot properly at this point. Thanks for all your help!
Update:
I've now tried deleting the contents of the SEUS update directory, to force it to redownload the update, with the same results. I have left the phone to charge.
I have tried the flash file here:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=839011&page=3
and it just scrolls looking for my phone. To be sure, I also tried on another computer with XP, and had the same result.
As a last resort I tried X10FUB (the X10 Unbricker) and it was unable to flash.
I find it hard to believe that by using SEUS as it was intended, performing a genuine update my phone is now a paperweight.
(Unrooted, branded w/ Roger's firmware)
After spending all night plugged into the wall outlet, I wanted to try again this morning.
SEUS - update installs to about 98%, then fails.
PCCompanion - Reinstalled it this morning, direct from SE homepage. While attempting to repair, on the Prepare tab I get an error: "Unable to install or start phone software update components." The weird thing is, this error happens regardless of if the phone is connected or not.
Can anyone shed some light on this matter? It'd be appreciated!
No one? Really?
...
As another update, I've tried now on another PC, and PC Companion errors out at the exact spot. Clearly there's something wrong with this software.
Someone must have some ideas for me... SE's only response was to try another computer, although I think they just wanted me off the phone.
To further continue the thread of me talking to myself;
I have now tried SEUS and PCCompanion from two seperate computers with identical results. Clearly an issue with the phone itself, not a software or flashing problem.
I've spoken to my providor, Rogers, and they've agreed to send a replacement phone. Looks like I have to use my old KRZR in the meantime.

Did you follow the instructions for the update process? What program are you using to update your phone? I suggest you use SUS (sony update service, download it from the official website here http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/update-service/
The phone should be turned off. Follow carefully the instructions the program will give you.
Than report back if you have any other issue.

were you really following instructions? and were you really prepared to do it?

go back to froyo

hi, I have an x10 mini pro, i've been used to flash custom roms on it and if something goes wrong i was always capable of moving back to froyo using pc companion's repair option, but i've been trying today to go back to froyo because a friend of mine bought the cell to me but she doesn't like Cyanogen mod cause it has bugs, so i plugged the phone to pc companion but it doesn't connect my phone, when i press support zone it doens't recognize the device, if i press how to connect a popup comes out, i follow instructions but the "final" option is to update pc companion, but i have the latest version. and that's it, how can i go back to froyo? im currently on gingerDx v021b.
does anyone has the files for flashtool or guide me on how to go back? thanks

You mean eclair, not froyo
I think you have to go into update phone or something in pc companion then do it from there, it doesn't matter if it recognizes the phone.
If that fails you'll have to use SEUS or flashtool, I'll try finding the files for you
I haven't used PC Companion in a while so I can't give you much advice

No luck in finding the files so far but you could follow the guide here and make your own ftf file specific to your operator and country - that will work best aside from PC Companion

[Q] KIES Stuffed. A bad time to fail.

Eagerly awaiting JB update for my unlocked, stock I9300 (UK BTU).
Trying to do things "by the book" and using KIES to check for updates.
Yesterday KIES announced that it needed to do some kind of update related to firmware...
Now, whenever I try to connect it reports "failed to retrieve device information" and doesn't connect.
I've tried re-installing KIES, and it managed to connect once, after which I get the same message whenever I try again.
I've tried disabling antivirus etc and using their connection troubleshooter, all to no avail.
NOT HAPPY; very bad time for this to happen.
OS is windows 7 64 bit.
Anyone else with the same problem? Ideas?
Thanks

same think happened to me with KIES. I managed to fix it by couple of times applying that fix connectivity problems thingy from the menu. I've had to reboot the phone too.
You might also want to try re-installing samsung drivers for

Thanks for the advice. I tried re-installing KIES and the drivers but it only connected once after their "necessary update"
I'm sure that it's this latest KIES update that has screwed it; was fine until today.
When I tried the troubleshooting wizard, it then told me it was an incompatible phone ;-(
Hopefully if it's a common problem, Samsung might eventually recognise and fix it.
I heard KIES was flakey, now I know
OK, I think that I have hopefully found a solution.
I started KIES by right-clicking the icon and chosing "run as administrator" instead of the usual way.
Now everything seems back to normal.
I suspect that their "update" may have messed up access rights in some way beyond my understanding:laugh:
Now it apparently connects consistently OK in the usual way.
I have the same problem driving me mad!
For some reason I can't update OTA I get this message
So I thought hey might try that program kies heard the updates are better too because they do a clean install of them. But it is horrendous!!
I want my update!

After much struggle I tried the run as admin a few times. And it worked once! Just got the update I am blown away how good it is soo far!
I hope everyone gets it soon

[Q] L9 connectivity problems

Hi.
I rooted my phone about two weeks ago using LGpwn and I noticed that I couldn't connect to google play anymore, and also, I couldn't connect my phone to the pc anymore ( i could only charge it).
SO i tought that a factory reset would most likely solve my problem.
Sadly, that was not the case, as the problems are still there.
My phone is an P760, running on android 4.1.2, software version p76020i, and the google play version is 4.4.22
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you, but unfortunately i have already tried that, and it does not work.
Try removing your battery for 15-20 sec and then turning your phone on and connecting it to PC.
You should work something out and as last resort try offline flashing...

Nope, google play still doesn't work, but for some reason, i can now connect it to the pc, which is weird, because i tried it with the same cable, same drivers, and the same usb port.
If you can, reinstall giggle play store. Otherwise reinstall ROM. Your update probably had some proponents while updating
Sent from my LG-P769 using xda-developers app. 'tis the season to give thanks so push the button already!
