Graphics performance? - Motorola Droid RAZR

So, i saw that the RAZR has the same GPU as the original Galaxy S I9000.
My question to you is: how does the phone perform in games?
I was expecting some better specs when i saw the phone.

GTA 3 works really nice. Few frame drops, when cars explode, but that's all.

Max Payne is PERFECT, iphone-like fluid, no glicht! (on ICS)

Any GTA Vice City players here?

Any of you downloaded GTA VC on your Galaxy Tab yet? I won't lie... This game runs pretty damn impressively for a ****ty Tegra 2 CPU. Outperforms every device I have, even my HTC Sensation and iPad 2. I get lag here and there but it seems to be something like a memory buildup since it comes with a short freeze and pure smoothness. Nonetheless, the game is super smooth overall. Why can't all games be like this? D:
How's your performance with it been?
It runs fine. Only lag I get is when it loads a chunk of buildings when going to another island.
Honestly I don't even get that. It stays smooth even then. My lag comes from explosion, driving uphill in rain, or the fake trees. I have the resolution set to 90 and the draw distance to 85. I could put it higher but the tablet gets super hot as it is, and sometimes apps force close on me when the tablet is too hot (the app causing the heat).

[Q] high end gaming

can the one x+ play games like asphalt 8 at high visualy quality with no lag? or are most high end games by gameloft ea rockstar gta games laggy unoptimized for tegra 3 still, would anyone advise me to get this phone for gaming? NOT INCLUDING tegra 3 designed games. the ones by gameloft are better IMO

This phone is the Worst Choice for Gaming on stock rom
even dual core phones can run asphalt 8 better than hox+.because it's not optimized for tegra3 (many games)
and the phone battery temperature gets very high...sth about 50-55°C or higher
I advise you >> Buy another Phone

2nd this. I am quite satisfied with the gaming performance but i could not tolerate the heat from the Tegra 3. If only mine is not a gift, i would sell it to get something better. HTC is not too friendly with development for this device as well. I wonder why they are spoiling the One series but neglecting the One X+ as it is one of their top devices
If all your intrested in is gaming... I'd buy a cheap phone and spend the rest on a shield!

High end gaming and mobile gaming do not go in the same sentence. People don't understand specs don't mean SH*T if there is no cooling method or ventilation put into these devices. It could have all the 2.6ghz quad core snapdragon 1000 processor with 4gb of ram and 1tb of memory. Without anyway of cooling or ventilation you will yield 10-15min of "high end gaming" until the device feels too hot to handle so you will stop or the device stops itself from becoming too hot.
Phone specs look great on paper. What lacks is high end software for the high end specs and no cooling or ventilation. What's the use of a 800hp muscle car if there is zero ventilation to the engine???

Hmm, I don't know. Cause I can play Real Racing 3 for about an hour before battery is 0%. It doesn't over heat anymore. I gave it for repairs and told HTC overheating is the biggest issue now they solved it. Also told them battery has an issue, finishes too fast, they fixed it now I can high end gaming for an hour, previously 40 minutes

Overall speed

Would you say that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
No issue whatsoever with performance. Not one sign of lag or stutter yet.
fastest smartphone i've used....
Yeah super fast coming from note 4 which I was happy with. Super duper fast
Works great for my daily things, and even the few games I play.
Size and spec of the s7 edge makes it my daily device and it works perfectly so far.
Coming from ip6s+, but also had before that N6p,N5 and s6 edge. So I compare it to good devices and not some low end device..

its fast, dunno how good it is compared with other newer phones, but everything runs smooth, games are awesome!
Setting everything was super fast, did a reboot and charging up to take a break, coming from a Note 4, which was reasonably fast, but this thing has zero lag so far.
GS7
this is a great phone, you can get the performance that you want and easily to use :good:
Snappiness of this phone has put my Note 4 to shame, particularly with switching to and from camera to gallery.
The sd card max transfer speeds are not up to par for 2016. Everything else is great.
Galaxy S7 edge is really fast, I do all multi tasking stuff like running multiple apps, playing game, downloading and auto updates parallely and its still runs with full speed. like all other samsung mobiles S7 edge runs with high speed.
No lag for me yet.
I can easily get mine to freeze up or lag.

Same here. There is microlag when scrolling all throughout Touchwiz. For the most part its smooth and seamless but for everyone saying they haven't seen lag, you probably have.
There is just a strong chance that it wasn't sustained lag which makes it easy to be dismissive of it.
It is especially noticeable when coming from the N6P (chalking this up to stock android not being bloated)

Agreed, I have seen micro lag, but nothing to irritating. It got much better when I disabled everything (everything that is dis-ableable anyhow) from Samsung and Verizon as always. Also as always once its rooted we can disable the rest and ti will fly. Its a shame that we have to do that, but it is what it is. I would do anything for an S7 Edge with stock Android... Better yet, a Nexus Edge
Hi, and what about the most performance demanding games? I use these expensive phones as portable consoles and if I invest 800€ into phone, which is price of computer, I expect every single game on google play smooth at 50 fps. But on some ytb videos I have seen some microshutter and fps drops for example in Dead trigger 2, Asphalt 8 or GTA san andreas. Dont know which version it was, but I prefer adreno 530 gpu which is not on market in my country :/ . I actually dont care very much about fast app launching/loadings or appdrawer, but for me most important is FPS when game is already loaded. Or can I lower res to 1080p to eliminate any FPS issue? Did anyone compared gaming exynos vs snapdragon? (not benchmarks, real gaming FPS) .
PS: Please keep hate and comments like phone is not for gaming away, Im listening it all the time. But i am heavy gamer at any platform and if I wanted phone for calls and sms I could stick with my old nokia 3310. But thanks for any possible useful info from owners of this phone
Only time I had lag was with Chrome. I'm using the Samsung browser now and it's fast. The update seems like it made my phone fast not that it was slow. I'm happy. Oh I'm using Nova so that probably helps.
most of it is fast except slight lag once in awhile. fps is slower compare to my oneplus 2
some games are laggier than on my Sony Z3, sometimes the transitions lag as well
Great speed

Poor Game Performance on Brand New Verizon Galaxy S4

If had this phone for like 2 weeks now, it was given to me as a graduation gift. My dad picked it because on paper, its a beast of a phone. 1.9ghz quad core CPU and Adreno graphics processor. In theory, based on these stats, it should be able to run Real Racing 3, MMX Racing, and other high quality games without issue or frame drop. This, sadly, is not the case, RR3 is unplayable and MMX racing has low framerate so timing the takeoffs and landings are difficult. What can anyone tell me about this problem. I do clear up all the RAM possible, but this isnt the issue, they are frame drops not, stutters, I obviously have power saving off. What can all you fancy phone gurus tell me about why this is occurring and what can be done.

Nope
never going to happen
you need to learn a bit more about hardware just because its 'quad core' and has a 'adreno' doesn't mean its not slower then a 3 Legged dog
the S4 is pretty dam slow by modern standards out of the box brand new it scores a meager 26147 in antutu benchmark for comparison something like the Galaxy S5 which is one generation newer scores about 3800
and real-racing 3 still doesn't run very well on the s5
current top-end phones will score about 50K
bottom line your dad brought you a outdated slow phone that nobody should be using in 2016
and I say that as a owner of 4 galaxy S4's
You bought the slow S4 variant, known to be choppy in games. The GPU can't run those games at an enjoyable frame rate, but can perform well on every other task, I guess.
A pretty decent S4 would be the LTE-A variant, with its hardware comparable to the S5. Basically it has a 2.3GHz processor and a way better GPU (~x2).
Even if I don't play I refused to buy it for its crappy performance and went for the snappier variant, twice.

Horrendous gaming experience. Is my ROG phone faulty?

Hey guys,
I own a Razer Phone 1 and thought upgrading to ROG was a no brainer, faster chipset and oled panel (though 90hz).
My ROG phone is so choppy and laggy compared to my RP1, to the stage I thought my phone was faulty. The games I tried testing were guns of boom, nba 2k, where reaction times and ability to control matters to some degree. I troubleshooted a bit and made sure X mode was on, cleared all the ram, 90hz setting was selected, and I turned on the gaming information and was averaing 50fps which is great for a phone! So why was it so choppy and laggy? I ran the same games on RP1 and reduced the screen to 90hz and ran the same games. The RP1 was perfect, all the choppy frames and lag were gone. So if both ROG and RP1 were running 90hz, and ROG should be having higher frame rates (845 vs 835), then is it because of ROG's oled panel?
Is there anyone else having this problem?
I'll try to upload a video to show the problem? It's a bit discouraging that the latest gaming phone performs worse in the real-world (not benchmark) than an older generation product.

I love the phone but i do think it's over hyped. Coming from HTC U11+ (835 vs 845 snapdragon) i don't think the differences are big in terms of processor power. My guess the software experience of the phone isn't polished yet to it's potential that's why i believe the next few updates will make the experience more smooth and how it should be.
One disclaimer i think the CN Rom is worse in performance in comparison with a WW Rom (But no real actual proof just a hypothesis) because you will get some games or apps stopping because of missing Google play services or some google apps.
It's a huge difference in person but still noticeable after recording it and uploading it to youtube.

I also upgraded from Razer Phone to RoG Phone, and I'm loving it. All the games I play are smooth, with colors so much brighter, and vibrant. So happy to have THE Headphone jack back.

Thanks Zicott, in that case my phone is very likely defective. I'll see if I can get it repaired .
Tried out guns of boom and it played well on mine
