When the original TF101's were released, Asus were touting that their dock will be compatible with the future quad core tablet.
Well, we know that turned out to be false.
So now I am wondering if this is the going to be the case with the Prime Dock?
Has Asus said anything? I guess, if even if they said it is going to be compatible, i guess that doesn't necessarily turn out to be true..
2nd question: Is there any chance of a tablet + dock combo here in US?
Why would they not have that option here? I think this is the same thing they did last time...?
KG
Asus DID say that the dock will be compatible with future releases with the TF101. There is no proof that the existing TF101 will not work with the TF201 other than the fact that the new tablet is so much thinner I believe.
But let's look at how thin the TF201 is. How much thinner can you get? The Prime will be the thinnest tablet released and I really cannot imagine the want for a sub 8.5mm design. S
I've had my cell phone for 6 months now and have only dropped it once. In the last two days I've managed to drop my prime twice!! Lol on concrete even. Both times it was in the case and both times it was fully covered and didn't even take a scratch! For someone who normally isn't clumsy this thing is easy to drop!
The case I bought is very thin and doesn't take much away from the stock feel of the device. When I'm at home I usually take it out but I would highly reccomend a case if you take your prime out of the house!

Which case did you buy?
Thanks
Maybe you should recommend getting a case that's easier to hold onto? (Since you seem to have trouble when it's in the case).
I got the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime case in black leather style which includes the keyboard case too. Not arrived yet but I've had Tuff-Luv products before for my phone and my daughter has one for her 3DS so I trust that it will be good quality.
I know its been discussed, running out the door asap though and have an expiring coupon at newegg that I may use to buy the dock.
Have we heard if the 201 dock will work with the tf700? Might buy the dock an the 201, and if the tf700 kills it just swap the tabs out later and keep the dock.

Unknown, but from the Infinity topic, it sounds like each tablet will have it's own dock.

Wow, that stinks. I was under the impression that the dock would be interchangeable. Also from all the videos that have been posted, it looked like the tf201 dock on the 700.
I was hoping to do what the OP posted.....facepalm...
When the 700 was first announced they definitely said it would use the TF201 dock. Given the fairly minor differences between the Infinity and TFP there had better be a good reason why if not.

Ya, I specifically remember them saying when the 700 was announced during CES that the 201 dock would be compatible with the 700.
Yea at this point i am not sure anymore. I may sell my dock now and just get a new one when the Infinity comes out.
Well I missed the cutoff for that coupon before I settled on the dock, picked up some random things. I certainly hope, for their sake and the consumers, that the docks will fit both models. No sense in re-tooling AGAIN unless there is a major overhaul going on.

Asus also stated the same 'aim' with the original transformer keyboard dock. I can only go by what Asus have said about the new models on their facebook page, namely that none of them would be compatible with the existing Prime keyboard dock. But I suppose we'll only know for sure once the Infinity model is physically available.

From the videos that I've seen it seems like Infinity should fit in the existing Prime dock.
i remember reading somewhere that asus did say all docks will be interchange able with later models
they said this with the TF101 dock
has anyone given that a try yet?
Video of the 700 with the plastic strip on top, he was careful not to say the Prime had crappy wifi.
Comparison video, He mentions a better antennae design, Headphone jack is moved and a couple of other things as well. It looks the same thickness as the Prime, but you can even see in this video the Prime has a more washed out color appearence, just look at the clouds on the 700 compared to the 201, 700 looks a lot better.
Does the origami-like Smart Cover from Asus for the Transformer Prime works/fits on the Transformer 300? The dimensions of the two tablets are almost the same, so I think it will work... Can anyone confirm this?
interesting cover never seen it before. seem out of stock at amazon and others. do they still make it anymore?

I buyed one on Amazon Germany...
The smart cover fit on the screen an you can put it in the Dock connectors on the Tablet, but it doesnt hold solid on the right Dock connector, so its very easy to pull the cover out of the Connectors. On a Youtube Video with the Transformer prime the Guy hold the Smart Cover and the Tablet hangs on this. With the one i had, the tablet falls down.
In don't know if the Problem was on the Smart Cover or the connectors on the Tablet.
Anybody using this? I seen it at my local Office Depot, and it did fit the TF300T, but I wasn't quite sure about using it until I seen some reviews.
I purchased the cover only to return it. Only 1 hinge would stay connected as mentioned in other posts. I returned it and am now waiting for a new case I purchased on Amazon.

I'm looking for a case to fit the original Transformer Pad TF 101 and they want to know how similar the Prime is to this because there are a lot more cases available for the prime than the original and if the prime case fit the original i want to do that because its just for a 4 year old
11 in the prime are completely different city of 101. The prime better than if you wanna 1 also the camper place and button placement are different.
