Trying to get back to completely stock - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I'm trying to get back to completely stock before return the Note. These are the steps I found in another thread. I was coming from the UCLF leak but the baseband is still showing UCLF.
1) Flash stock odin through Odin
2) Flash CWM Recovery through Odin
3) Flash AT&T Reset Flash Counter Zip through CWM Recovery
4) root without tripping the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1518962
5) unroot without tripping the flash counter: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=133
After doing this, I thought everything looks stock until I noticed that the baseband was still on UCLF5. Did I flash the wrong stock odin?

[Q] How to restore Stock Recovery?

My kernel is KF3 (cfroot) how do i restore back to the stock recovery?
Do i need to have stock recovery if my flash counter is 0 to claim on warranty?
For your phone to be warranty ready you have to be on stock firmware and not rooted. To get the stock recovery, flash the stock KF3 kernel back to your phone. You will need to delete the cwm and superuser app first. You can also just re-flash the entire stock firmware to the phone.

You need a jig to reset the counter.

Returning to stock after flashing custom firmware

I'm planning to flash Siyah kernel on my stock firmware (Samsung 4.0.3). In the Siyah thread it says it includes a CWM image. I inspected the Siyah flashable zip and I only found a zImage file. Is the recovery included inside it?
Please confirm that I can return to stock using the method below, im still a noob
* To restore counter I can use TriangleAway app.
* Should I wipe anything before returning from Siyah to stock?
* Then i flash stock firmware through Odin and the counter wont increase since its Samsung firmware right? Does flashing the official firnware also give me the stock recovery?
Is this all that I need to know ?
Should I worry about backing up EFS before flashing the Siyah kernel or perhaps before returning to stock?
Thank you very much! All answers appreciated!

If are on stock ROM now, you will have to flash SiyahKernel as tar file with Odin.
And yes, CWM recovery is included in the kernel (zImage).
Before flashing, you should backup everything important. Just to be on the safe side.
Some EFS backup tools require root. If you find one which works without root, then you should backup before flashing.
Otherwise make the EFS backup (and a nandroid/system backup in CWM recovery) after flashing SiyahKernel.
Then use TriangleAway app to remove yellow triangle and rest the flash counter.
When flashing stock kernel after SiyahKernel, you don't need to wipe anything.
You can wipe data, if you want to do a factory reset, or you can do the factory reset later (on stock) too.
And yes, after flashing stock kernel, you will be back on stock recovery.

Try here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1702166
i am a little confused there, can i update it directly to jelly bean using safe kernel?
Have you got root? you don't need to be worried about emmc brick bug as you aren't on ics 4.0.4.
Yes you can. It was only the stock 4.0.4 kernels that where not safe if I remember correctly if you are rooted already you can download and flash via CWM or if you dont want to root you can get stock from sammobile and flash with oidn

it is not rooted, and it is 2.3.3 you know
If you don't plan to root then download stock from sammobile and flash with odin if you are looking to root get a rooted kernel Siyah and Philz are popular flash one and then flash the rom you want via CWM

yes, i want to root it,
do i have first to install any stock ICS first?
No you can just download a custom rom and flash it. If you flash non stock via ODIN you will increase your binary counter and get the yellow triangle at boot time
If you dont want to have the yellow triangle at boot time there are ways to root without increasing the counter flashing PhilZ kernel via stock recovery is one way but I did not try it myself else there is the triangle away app

non stock and custom sounds like same
im not sure if you saw screanshot of the phone
Do you meant sound the same to flash? If so it will since both are just flashing a new ROM one made by Samsung and the other not. If you flash a custom rom the differences come after it starts up

[Q] Stock recovery in CWM flashable form - anyone have a link to SDS safe version?

Decided to switch from custom recovery method to using mobile Odin for flashing, so the bootloader flash counter can be reset - kernel is also stock.
I can find threads for modems, bootloaders and kernels but the only links to stock recovery I could find was sticky threads and over a year old, so not SDS safe.
Does anyone have a recent .zip CWM flashable version please? I'm keeping the custom ROM I've already got, so don't really want to flash fully stock just to get the recovery.
Thanks.
Also, reading through those stickies some of the advice and files they link to are well out of date - noobs could end up flashing ICS if they follow some of them.
There's a safe stock recovery in the cf auto root tar. Maybe that'll flash via mobile odin?
Or take an existing recovery cwm.zip (example philz recovery) and put the recovery image from cf auto root or any official rom in it instead

Thanks, didn't think of that - it flashed in mobile odin and installed recovery perfectly, but removed root. Had to flash again on the pc to regain root, triangled away and updated the bootloader and I'm now at peace with my warranty information.
System is still modified, as it's rooted but I can live with that.

Yeah I have modified status only. Since I have an ICS bootloader (I don't use download mode) I don't have flash counter increased.

HELP! Cant boot into anything except recovery

Hey guys just got a new Verizon S4 that has the bootloader unlocked. The guy I bought it from had CM 10.1 installed. I was wanting to go to the google edition rom or a TW rom. I flashed the google edition rom and it booted fine the first boot. Second boot, it got hung on the "Samsung Galaxy S4" screen. I have wiped caches, reflashed different roms and now everytime I try to boot the phone, it hangs at the same screen. I have no idea what to do. I know I can odin back to stock but I don't want to lose my root and unlocked bootloader (I am assuming I will?) Help?
Did you full wipe? Not just cache. You have to do a full wipe, system and everything. Basically factory reset.
If that doesn't work, you can flash back to stock and re root it, it's really easy.

I did a factory reset. If I flash back to stock I will lose my unlocked bootloarder correct?
I tried flashing another recovery and now I cant even get into recovery. I get the following in red at the top "secure fail: kernel" Then I get a yellow triangle below that that says "system software not authorized by verizon has been found on your phone, yada yada" Am I screwed? I tried flashing cwm advanced edition
I dont think u'll lock the bootloader as long as u dont take the me7 update... factory reset then reroot right after....

You can't flash a new recovery from inside the GPE port. Since you got the triangle of doom I'm guessing that's what you did. You need to ODIN back to the MDK stock Tar file. I don't know who has it but the download link is on here. Then you need to reroot using the MDK root method, which requires you to download the MD2 bootloader tar file and the MDK boatloader tar file and the motochopper root exploit tool. After you have root, update the binaries. Then power off and reflash back to the MDK (using the .tar file) Once back in MDK you can download a new custom recovery. TWRP or CWM. Boot into recovery and make a full nandroid backup. This way if crap hits the fans again you can reflash your backup. After your backup is done. Download the GPE zip file (I usually put it in my microsd card) then boot back into recovery and reflash the GPE ROM.
Important things to remember.
1.) Don't install the ME7 tar file in ODIN when reflashing
2.) Don't accept the update that OTA
3.) Don't reflash from inside the GPE ported ROM
4.) Don't forget to update the Root binaries from google play after installation
